Poppin tags

Sunnies: Tom Ford | Earrings: Express (option) | Necklace: Target (option) | Bag: Kate Spade (funky option) | Top: Express | Bracelet: Nadri | Bottoms: Express | Shoes: Vince Camuto (option)

As I was trying to pick outfits for the week, I was sifting through my tops to see if there was anything new with tags that I hadn't worn yet. I need a better system for keeping tabs on these items because I don't always wear things the second I buy them. Though, I'm happy to say that my collection of new-with-tags items is pretty minimal. I have a handful of Barcelona camis, and I found this one with its tags in tact, so I quickly popped them and decided to be a little matchy matchy and pair it with these delicious heels. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times - sometimes it's nice to just be simple.

Lilly hangover

If your Instagram feed is anything like mine, it's been saturated with Lilly Pulitzer for Target stuff since the wee hours on Sunday about a week and a half ago. So much so that it gave me a bit of a Lilly hangover and almost ruined any interest I had in the collaboration. But, when Di sent out a public service announcement that she was going to Target and solicited requests from fellow shopaholics on anything we may want, I texted her that I'd be happy with any of the pom pom scarves.

Via Instagram here

Luckily, she was able to get her hands one some! Yippee! Not only do I love them as scarves, but I loved the idea of wearing them as a cover up over a bathing suit with different tying methods. Now, I just need a beach vacation… In the meantime, I figured I could add some playfulness to this outfit by simply tying it to my bag.

Sunnies: Vince Camuto | Necklace: Express (option) | Bag: Kate Spade (option) | Scarf: Lilly Pulitzer for Target (option, option) | Top: Express (similar in Cayman blue or Fresh mint) | Bracelet: Stella and Dot, CS Gems | Skirt: LOFT | Shoes: Kate Spade

Speaking of hangover… have you guys tried Strawberitas? I tried it for the first time a couple of weekends ago before the baseball game. I'm not really a huge beer drinker, to be honest. I'm fine having one or two, but it's definitely not my drink of choice for an entire night. And not that this is REALLY beer, but it's technically a Bud Light product, which is why I mention it. But anyway, I am kind of really obsessed with them and now have a 12 pack sitting in my refrigerator. So, if you haven't tried them, it comes Carylee certified!

Beau season

It's Beau season, guys! Not to be confused with bow season for the hunters. That's totally a different thing. This bag is inherently spring and summer to me, and I'm sorry to taunt you with it since it is no longer available, but, I just couldn't wait to wear it with my new chambray. It's perfect!

Sunnies: Oakley | Earrings: Express (option) | Necklace: Stella and Dot | Bag: Kate Spade (option, tote option) | Top: LOFT | Bracelet: Nadri | Watch: D&G (option) | Bottoms: American Eagle (option) | Shoes: Zara (option, option)

If you're in the market for a light wash chambray, I highhhhhly recommend this one. I scored it during one of the latest 40% off sales, and it is as soft as a baby's bottom. Perhaps that's not a good analogy, but just trust me when I say it is the softest chambray that I own. I could sleep in this thing! It has such a relaxed fit, and I love that it is collarless because that sets it apart even more from the other 38733434 chambrays in my collection!

Closet Room: The Photo Session

See full outfit here: Top: Express | Bracelet: JCrew (option) | Bottoms: American Eagle (option)

I'll keep the text super short since this will be really photo heavy, but I mentioned last week in my post that I had my closet room professionally photographed! I got the photos late last week, and I could not be more pleased with them! I used Christine Foehrkolb Photography, a local photographer who literally lives about 5 minutes from my house. And! She's good friends with Carrie and Stacy from CS Gems, so it's nice to keep it all in the family, so to speak! Christine took a ton of amazing photos for me to choose from. It was so hard to narrow it down for this post! I hope you'll grab your coffee and enjoy this ride with me!

Christian Louboutin (gifted) and Kate Spade coffee table books

Chair and Ottoman: Value City | Side table and lamp: Target | Rug: Amazon | Chandelier: Kohl's (similar) | Bookshelves: Ikea (half height bookcase, full height book case, doors (option) | Curtains: Target (similar) | Armoire: JCPenny (option) | Hanging jewelry organizer: Bed Bath and Beyond (similar) | Step stool: Amazon (similar)

I wasn't sure if she was going to have me pose inside my room, but I made sure I was dressed for it, just in case! I'm glad that she did, because of all the photos and such that I have of my room, I really didn't have any great ones of me in the space. What a great record of my happy place! Thanks for sticking with me on this!

Random roundup

This week went by so fast, yet so slow at the same time! How does that work! I have a pretty uneventful weekend in front of me, which to be honest, are always the best. I swear I feel like I have weekends planned already through the summer! I'll be back in tights and boots before you know it! For now, here are some springy looks for you that I've accumulated on my phone! Happy random roundup!

Scarf: JCrew Factory | Top: Express | Bracelets: Stella & Dot, Cara | Bottoms: American Eagle | Shoes: Kate Spade (limited sizes in black here)

This is what I ended up wearing for Easter. We just went to his cousin's house for some grub and to hang out. I couldn't resist these blush skinnies again. I'm obsessed with them, and if I can't wear them to work, I will wear them anywhere else I can!

Top: Express (similar) | Tee: ExpressBottoms: ZellaShoes: Steve Madden

This is what I wore to fly to San Antonio for all of 3 hours just to start our drive back with Petie. Needless to say, I needed something I could spend all day in. Something that would keep me at a comfortable temperature, and also something that I could easily wear all day. This certainly did the trick! Though I should have brought a jacket because it was colder than I anticipated as went through north Texas!

Jersey: Target | Tank: Victoria's Secret | Shorts: American Eagle | Socks: High Sock Sundays | Shoes: Converse

Ah, baseball! I'll be mixing in these game day looks every once in awhile! Opening day ended up falling on Easter, so this is what I changed into after I stuffed my face with ham and other yummy goodness.

Bag: Kate Spade | Top: J Crew Factory | Necklace: Banana Republic | Bottoms: ExpressSandals: Sam Edelman

To be honest, I have no idea where I was going when I wore this. I think I was running to the mall or something? Not sure, but it was definitely a weekend look. Oh! I remember! I did go to the mall in this. Then afterwards we went to one of the eat-in movie theaters to watch Furious 7. I loved the movie, but it still makes me sad about Paul Walker. I can't talk about it!!

Top: ExpressNecklace: CS Gems (c/o) | Bottoms: ExpressShoes: Kate Spade (budget option)

And last but not least is this outfit, which is one of my all time favorites. Nothing overly complicated-- just a portofino, but the heels. The heels make it special. And I wish I could record my co-workers' reactions when they turned the corner and saw me with their eyes popping out of their head at the shock of my shoes. It's priceless, I tell ya. Sadly, only about a dozen people made comments about them. I expected at least 20!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'll be back on Monday with some great photos from my closet room shoot!

Smile Brilliant

Top: Old Navy

I'm taking a little break from my outfit posts today because I've been meaning to share a product with you that I'm currently using. It's called Smile Brilliant.

The natural color of my teeth is definitely not a true white-white, so I know I could never achieve a super white smile - unless I want to look like Ross from Friends and glow in the dark! But, regardless, I've always been on the lookout for a great teeth whitening system. I've tried things like Crest White Strips and the Arm and Hammer whitening booster. These products were ok, but didn't super blow my mind.

I've thought about professionally having them whitened, but have never pulled the trigger, mainly because of cost. While my teeth aren't super white, they're not super yellow either, so paying a dentist to whiten them hasn't been a huge priority. #idratherbuyshoes So, when Smile Brilliant approached me to try their teeth whitening kit, they definitely had my attention!

To give me a good idea of what I could expect from my whitening kit, they suggested I watch this video, which really just got me more excited to try this out! Luckily, they're local to St. Louis, so my package arrived in no time!

You're basically making your own custom molds, just as they would do for you at the dentist. I was a little intimidated because I'm certainly not crafty, and while this isn't an arts and crafts exercise, I was still worried I would make mistakes! I felt a little less pressured when I saw that they give you extra paste for that very reason; in case you need a do-over! The instructions were really simple and straightforward, I ended up making both my top and bottom molds on the first try!

I dropped the molds in the mail, and received my custom whitening trays within a week's time. Crazy fast!

smile-brilliant

What I hated about the white strips is how slippery I felt they were. They didn't stay in place well, especially if I were to talk. You definitely don't have to worry about that with these. I realize these are custom made trays - literally molded to my teeth, but wow, the fit still amazed me. I'm not sure if you've ever had to wear a clear retainer in your life, but that's what I pictured these to feel like - stiff and awkward, leaving you with a mouth full of drool. They aren't anything like that at all. They're soft, comfortable, and invisible -- I've had conversations with the husband while wearing them with him not even noticing.

You won't actually get your mold, but they sent me mine for the purposes of this review. Pretty impressive quality though, eh? And yes, if you're OCD like me and feel the urge to count my teeth - I only have 24 as compared to the normal 32. Carylee fun fact #138732: My mouth was crazy small for my teeth, so my teeth were crowded and crooked as a result. Before I could even get braces, I had to have four teeth pulled -- 2 top and 2 bottom. My wisdom teeth were literally growing in sideways, perpendicular to my rear molars, so needless to say, all 4 were pulled before they had a chance to mess up my 3.5 years of braces!

smile-brilliant

I've only been using them a couple times a week, though they're definitely safe and gentle enough for you to use on a daily basis. I will say though that I don't drink that much tea or soda, and when I do drink coffee (hot or cold), it's always out of a straw. (At home, I even drink red wine out of a straw…) So, I don't believe I will have drastic results as compared to a heavy coffee/tea drinker or smoker with super stained teeth. Regardless, I will have to take another photo for comparison once I am done with the entire kit - stay tuned!

If you can't wait and want to see some actual before and after photos - this video was a great resource for that - and I'm sure you could find a ton more with a quick google search. So far, I am completely satisfied with Smile Brilliant, I almost hate for my kit to run out! Please let me know if I can answer any questions!

Disclosure: Although Smile Brilliant gifted me this whitening kit, all opinions expressed are my own!
