So much heat + What's Up Wednesday

Sunnies: Ray Ban (similar) | Necklace: BaubleBar (option) | Bag: Chloe (other colors here) | Top: LOFT | Bracelet: Banana Republic | Shorts: One Teaspoon Hendrix Bandit shorts (shop more One Teaspoon shorts here) | Shoes: DV Dolce Vita (similar)

I always enjoy linking up with MelShay, and Sheaffer for What's up Wednesday because it gives me a platform to share some randoms with you that I don't think to otherwise share on the blog! If you ever want a full dose of randomosity from me, Snapchat is probably the best place to get all that stuff! Maybe even too much stuff! My handle is the same as my Instagram - carylee07. If you'd rather just stick with the blog, that's fine, too! Let's get started with the question and answer sesh!

What we are eating this week:
I can't tell you enough how much we are loving our meal delivery service. Such a time and money saver, not to mention wayyyyy healthier than eating out all of the time. I really don't know how you mothers manage to take care of yourself and your family. I feel like we have zero time and we only have two fur babies! Anyway, this week our menu is:

--Chicken pot pie with sautéed zucchini and tomatoes
--Sweet and tangy glazed chicken with roasted cauliflower
--Light jambalaya with peppers, tomatoes, chicken breast, turkey sausage, and brown rice

I love that the menu is basic but craveable.

What I'm reminiscing about:
I'm in the process of putting together a recap post of my yoga event from last weekend, so that is definitely fresh on the top of my mind! It turned out to be a really great event, which makes me both relieved and happy! I can't wait to share the details with you!

What I'm loving:
The shorts I am wearing in this post are heaven sent. It has been ridiculously hot here. RIDICULOUS! I grew up in San Antonio where humidity was a beast, and I vowed to never move back as a result. I just like having 4 real seasons and relief from the humidity. Well, the humidity this summer has been relentless. We usually have a few days on and off for humidity but lately it's been all on and zero off. These shorts are really all I can muster and if I can't wear them, I really don't want to go! Hence why work is a struggle this week! So sweaty!

What we've been up to:
It's so funny because I feel like we don't have many friends outside of family, nor do we have much of a social life. Yet, we have been SO busy this summer! This month it's been all about the nephews and their birthdays - his sister's sons just turned three and one. We were also able to have a fun date night with his cousin and her hubby a couple weekends ago which was nice. On top of all that, we've actually been able to see a couple movies this month - we watched Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and Ghostbusters. Two totally different movies but equally as entertaining!

What I'm dreading:
My family is coming here for Thanksgiving! No, that's not what I'm dreading. What I'm dreading is going through all of the crap that has accumulated in the guest bedrooms as we prepare the house for their visit! It's really all clothes and shoes that I've been meaning to sell but have never gotten around to taking photos and posting them on ebay. I swear I need an intern! We need to start chipping away at this stuff though because November will be here before we know it!

What I'm working on:
This month I started a new hair series. I'm about 4 weeks in now, and it's been fun, but also a lot of work. I give credit to all of you vloggers out there because the editing is no joke, and I am completely basic and simple when it come to my editing. Anyway, hopefully my readers have appreciated it!

What I'm excited about:
Well, I've shared the bachelorette party as well as the shower, and next month is the wedding! I still need to get my dress altered - I keep reminding myself to go, but dangit I need more hours in the day. For sure for sure I will drop it off this week!

What I'm watching:
I mentioned in my Fitness Update that I've been watching Gossip Girl on Netflix while I work out. I'm in the middle of season five right now. For all of you that used to watch it, it's the part where Blaire and Chuck are in the middle of a love triangle, Nate is juggling a couple different girls, Serena is trying to figure herself out, and Dan is writing. Ok, ok, so that really is a good descriptor of the entire series synopsis, did you catch that? I'm excited to finish the series, but kind of freaked out because I don't know what I will watch when it's over!

What I'm listening to:
Ha, well if you follow me on Snapchat, you know that I'm basically listening to Justin's Can't Stop the Feeling on the regular. It's just such a good, feel-good song, I can't resist! In real life, as I write this, I'm listening to the Cardinals' game on TV. We were down as much as 9-1. We've closed the gap to 9-6, but it's not looking the best for us right now!

From Friday's random roundup post

What I'm wearing:
You can always see what I'm wearing on Instagram. Admittedly, it may not be real time because I always try and balance the content in my feed, and also sometimes I may not physically be able to post right away. I do post my #ootd selfie every morning on Snapchat, so that gives you another reason to follow me there. Otherwise, I try to roundup what I've worn lately in my Friday random roundup posts.

What I'm doing this weekend:
Miraculously, we have zero plans this weekend! That always seems to change though. I do have a Pilates class scheduled at 9am on Saturday, but otherwise we are free. That probably means we should start tackling the guest bedrooms….

What I'm looking forward to:
I have a fun blogger event tomorrow night! Psyche from Economy of Style is hosting a shopping event at the Premium Outlets here in St. Louis. You know I love shopping, but I also adore Psyche and am excited to support her and her event.

What else is new:
The husband has been debating on getting a wrap put on his car. A matte wrap to be exact. Originally he wanted to do something bold like orange, but I was encouraging him to go with a black or grey. He ended up choosing charcoal. We picked up the car this past weekend. They had it for about 10 days and literally had to take the car apart to properly apply it. It turned out perfect! I just love it and I'm not even a huge car girl. I know the husband is pretty happy with it as well!

Well that is the month of July in a nutshell! Thanks for following along and hanging in there with me! It's been a pretty busy month but poof, now it's gone!

  3. I agree with Rachelle- these posts are really my favorite! (Both to create and to read!) It's just a fun mix of random stuff that I never think of otherwise. And for "not having a social life" you are always quite the busy bee on Snapchat! Your weekend shopping event sounds fun! Bonus to hang out with another blogger!

  6. Ahhh I love those shorts but they would just be too short on me. They look so great on you! Always love reading these updates when you all share. Your meal service sounds so great. Looking forward to your yoga event recap. I think it is so neat you did that. Enjoy your plan free weekend! It seems like this summer has been so busy for us too.
