Random roundup

It's not Friday, it is in fact Monday. It was a busy weekend and rather than add to my stress, I made an executive decision at 10:30pm on Saturday night to only schedule one post for this week. Just not enough hours in the day to do what I would *like* to do! I figured if I was only giving you one post that I would at least fill it with five outfits! Let's get started!

I think this is the first time that I am sharing five outfits in chronological order from last week. Meaning, these outfits are the exact outfits I wore Monday through Friday just last week. I'll let you know why I chose what I did for that particular day!

Monday: Nothing in particular I was dressing for this day. I wore this top on the blog here, but I realized I hadn't worn this top to the office yet and since it was pushing 90-degrees, it seemed like a good chance to do it without having to layer anything on top! My hair looks extra big in this photo, probably because it was extra dirty!

Necklace: Kendra Scott "Elisa" | Top: Express "Original fit portofino" (current colors here) | Skirt: JCrew Factory (current colors here, blue pencil skirt option here) | Heels: Valentino "Rockstud"

Tuesday: For the most part, I can wear whatever I want to the office. The dress code is pretty relaxed and most people are often way more casual than I am. Last Tuesday, they were taking head shots of some of us for a Linkedin spotlight, so I figured I should dress like a grown-up. And funny because they did two takes and I hated both of them, but I felt bad asking them to retake it until we found one I liked. Plus, they had the camera set up so that it was on the not-as-good side of my face (you know you have a good side), so I knew I wouldn't really favor anything they took of me. And when I say "head shot" it was legit of basically my neck up. So. No point in scrutinizing, right?

Wednesday: The temperature dropped 20 degrees on Wednesday and it was magical!!! I decided to wear two of my Nordstrom anniversary sale purchases together - the sweater and the jeans. If you had your eye on this sweater, it's currently back in stock in all sizes, AND it's 33% off. I highly recommend it. It's taking all my brute strength not to order another color! The fit is really great - fitted in a way that is not constricting.

Thursday: I had to work from home on Thursday because contractors were at the house installing a new door and two windows that were damaged from a hail storm over the summer. It was two days worth of work, so I stayed home Thursday and the husband worked from home on Friday. That meant I spent the majority of my day in sweats!!! But! I had my speaking event that evening - I was invited to speak all things fashion related to a local moms group and I had no idea what I wanted to wear!!! This sweater just arrived in the mail the night before, and I figured it was the easiest, no-brainer thing to wear without further delaying my getting-ready time! The event went well, btw. I will share some of the questions they asked me in future posts.

Top: CS Gems (also comes in black stripe) | Bottoms: American Eagle (option) | Booties: Joie (optionoption)

Friday: And last but not least is Friday! Admittedly, I only wore this until about noon. I have a Pilates class I take at noon on Fridays and it ended up warming up more than I expected, and I was way too sweaty to put on long sleeves after my hot class. I figured I would leave a little early anyway, so I kept my workout outfit on to finish off the afternoon. Turns out, I stayed at the office to every bit of 5pm. Oh well! I know my co-workers were side eyeing me for taking casual Friday to a whole other level, but #sorrynotsorry. As far as this outfit though - I am just smitten over this top! I love the way it pairs with the olive, too. And these booties are always a favorite of mine!

  13. You have great work style Caryl! I know what you mean about it warming up during the day. It's been hard to dress for the cold mornings and then the heat in the afternoons that we've had here. The struggle is real!
