The moral of the story

Necklace: Express | Sweater: DVF (Cardigan version) (option) | Bracelet: Natasha Couture | Jeans: Express (option) | Booties: Sam Edelman | Bag: Chicastic

If this outfit doesn't scream fall, then I don't know what does! I think this may be the first time I've busted out a legit sweater. Yes, it's pretty lightweight, but it's still a sweater. That I am wearing with booties. I'm excited and scared at the same time because I know I'll regret all the rejoicing about cooler weather in a couple months.

Today was a complete opposite of yesterday. I woke up with absolutely zero ideas of what I wanted to wear. As such, I reached for some jeans so that I only needed to figure out half of an outfit vs a whole one. (Sneaky trick!) I remembered that the Spotlight of the Week, hosted by Elle and Jacqueline  was embellished sweaters, so I grabbed this one knowing it was lightweight. It's definitely premature for anything thicker than this. I was super excited to put on these booties. I bought them at the Mall of America last November on clearance, on the fence whether or not I really needed them, and now I can't imagine my shoe collection without them. They're just really comfy and very versatile - I wore them with bare legs here.

Then the icing on the cake was this bag, which added a nice splash of leopard to my look. I came across this outfit and wanted to recreate it. The problem is, I can't for the life of me, find a lace skirt that fits me right.

The link to the original blog is not working, but you can see the pin here.

I loved the entire look, but I also loved how she paired the leopard bag with burgundy. I could not find another bag I liked just as much as this one, so I decided to just take the plunge and order the exact one. I figured for $30, I didn't have much to lose. Luckily, I ended up liking the bag a lot. Super roomy and stays on my shoulder - that's my one worry about ordering bags online without trying them in person is that they'll slip off my shoulder.

Amazing how each outfit, each piece, has a story behind it. And the moral of today's story is - you really can't go wrong with a little wine, sequins, and leopard.

  2. You look so cute! I love your booties so much - I have a pair that is so similar and I can't wait to wear them! Unfortunately it's still 80 degrees here so I can't justify them :( Love all the sparkles!

    1. I was probably pushing it a tad by wearing the booties now, but it drives me crazy that the weather teases you by getting cool then sneaking back up there again! Hope it gets cool and stays cool for you! Thanks for reading and for the sweet comment!
