Happiest of Mondays! Seriously have no idea how it's basically almost mid-August, which means it's almost September, which means it's almost SNOWING!!! Ok, perhaps I am getting a little bit ahead of myself. Time just flies and I have no idea where it all goes! This week is going to be a whirlwind. Tomorrow I'm headed to Chicago for a working overnight trip. That literally means that I will be working overnight. We're not even getting hotel rooms because we will work in the wee hours of the night. It's a photo shoot of one of our sites, and it's taking place after business hours. So. I plan to sleep all day tomorrow and then all day on Wednesday when we are back and hope that the rest of the week falls into place!! Fingers crossed! But let's move onto this heavy metal outfit.
First off, I absolutely adore this bag. I've been seeing all the hype on social media about the Charming Charlie x Style Watch collection and it had my curiosity piqued. I even logged on to their website to shop the goodies for myself but I was at work at the time, ended up getting pulled into other directions (imagine that), and closed my browser to do other things. Fast forward to a couple days later and the husband asks me if I knew I had a box by the door. Well, hello! I did not know of this alleged box or else I would have opened it! It apparently came a few days ago when I was traveling for work.
Charming Charlie was nice enough to send me some samples from this collection and I couldn't have been more excited. Hopefully you caught the excitement first hand on Snapchat! This bag was one of pieces they picked out for me, and well, I'm a sucker for studs. It's nice and roomy so it can hold ALLTHETHINGS and it comes with a cross body strap as well. To say that I love it is an understatement.
As far as the rest of the collection goes, it's basically made up of everything I like - blacks, whites, reds, animal print, colorblocking. Yep, it's all good and it's only around for a limited time, so be sure to check it all out! (This crossbody bag here makes my heart sing!) And unlike the Target collaborations, the price points are consistent with what you're used to seeing at Charming Charlie.
I also did some shopping of my own this weekend! I mentioned this on Snapchat and was surprised with how many people asked me questions about this. And because of that, I shall share this info now with you, too! You see, during your birthday month, you can go into a Kendra Scott store and pick any single item you want for a 50% off discount. YEP, 50% off. The discount applies to one item only, but that's still a helluva discount at Kendra Scott. You do have to show your ID and sign up for their emails in order to get the discount, so I believe it's in store only and not available online. (Please correct me if you know otherwise, though!) One thing the store associates always suggest is to make your significant other take you into the store during THEIR birthday month, too! That way you can benefit from the birthday month discount twice a year!
UPDATE: This month is also my friend Kristi's birthday month! She decided to call customer service to see if there was a way for her to get the 50% birthday discount even though she doesn't have a store nearby to visit. They told her to call the closest store to her, email them a photo of her license, and they would do a phone order to give her the 50% off and ship the piece to her! She did just that and it worked like a charm! So yay! Everyone can benefit from this!
I tell you all of this because I decided to head into my local Kendra Scott store this weekend to pick out my birthday piece. I was torn between the Phara tassel necklace and the Lizzie necklace in rose gold. I was THISCLOSE to getting the Phara, but the sales associate said I should get the Lizzie first since it's a seasonal item and since the husband's birthday month is November, I could come back then and get the Phara, which will still be around since it's a signature not a seasonal piece. Well, that was a genius piece of advice (and a long run-on sentence!) The thing that really made me love the Lizzie is that it is adjustable! There is a slider instead of a clasp, so you can wear it short like I am today or extend it all the way and wear it long. Or any length in between! It's like you're getting a million necklaces in one piece. I love that! I did also get the Kenny ring in grey granite because it's gorgeous. The combo of the granite and rose gold is perfection.
I tried on two different pairs of shoes with this outfit - a hot pink pair to go matchy/matchy with my cami and this metallic pair that is a coppery color. The husband chose this pair, and I have to agree with him on his decision. It plays up the metal theme in this outfit quite well and let's the pink be its own color pop.
That's all I've got for you today! Wish me luck this week because I have a feeling it is going to be a doozie. Plus, how are we supposed to get on with our real lives and keep up with the Olympics at the same time!? That in and of itself is a feat! Hope you all have a great week! Don't forget to link up!
