Athleisure

If I'm being very honest, now that I can actually say "I teach Pilates," I feel way less guilty wearing workout clothes for real life even if I don't work out... or teach for that matter! There's this weird sense of entitlement. Maybe it's the 370 hours of Pilates I have accumulated over the last year that makes me feel like I *deserve* to look like I've just worked out even if I didn't! Regardless, when the husband wakes me up on a Saturday morning and tells me I have 20 minutes to get dressed if I want to go to my favorite brunch place, this is what I put on my body.

Outfit details--- Hat: From the Woodford distilleryChambray: American Eagle (option) | Tank: Lululemon "Run the day" tankPhone case: Loopy (current colors here) | Bracelet: Grace and Lace (c/o) | Bottoms: Lululemon "Run the day 7/8 pant"Shoes: Nike "Internationalist" (shop other colors here) ---

The baseball cap is the best invention ever. Seriously. How have I lived so many years without taking advantage of all its time-saving capabilities??! It's even better than a top knot in my opinion because it takes zero time to put on and it preserves my hair. Sometimes I feel like once I have succumbed to the top knot, my hair is "ruined" so to speak and it doesn't bounce back as well if I try to style it again after. Meaning, I have no choice but to wash it even if it's only day 2 or day 3 hair! (I usually go a solid 4-5 days in between washings...) I have been living in my caps on the weekends more and more lately.

I love cut out details in workout tanks and bras, but when I'm not at the gym, I do end up throwing a button up or a cardigan over both for modesty as well as warmth. I'm always cold indoors no matter how hot it is outside.

I've realized that if I'm not working out or at a baseball game, I really don't wear sneakers , much less flats, all that often. However, another thing that is awesome about teaching is that my non-workout sneakers get a lot of good use even outside those days I choose to sport some athleisure! I really don't know why I don't wear these kicks more. Their shape and silhouette are perfect.

Anything + leggings + cute sneakers = athleisure. It's a pretty simple formula for weekend outfits. I thought I would dig up some older athleisure-style posts so they are all in the same place. Let's take a look, shall we?

Rachelle and Jenna both do athleisure well, so if you're looking for inspiration, they are two good ones to watch! I'm pretty sure I have both of them to thank for my sneaker collection! Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not upset about that!! Have a great weekend!
