Workout to real life

Hello and Welcome! I am so happy you were able to join me for this unconventional (for me) blogger event! When Yoga Six first approached me to host and develop a theme for a workshop, I wanted to do something that felt like *me.* Let’s face it, I’m more a beginner than I am a professional when it comes to yoga, and I couldn’t think of a better way to bring pieces of me (see what I did there?) to this event than by sharing my favorite ways to make your workout outfits appropriate for real life, too!

Since I knew I only had a half hour after the yoga class to work with while still allowing you time to take in the light bites and shop all of The Fashion Lane's goodies, I thought the best way for me to fulfill my end of the deal to deliver style inspiration to you was by simply putting together a handout with exclusive content specific for this event along with a link to this hidden page on my blog where you can read more, shop through some of the links, or pin any of the images you may like! So, let's get started!

First thing’s first. Dry shampoo is my best friend. I try and workout 4-5 times a week, but I only wash my hair twice a week. You do the math. Dry shampoo and makeup wipes are must haves for me, especially when I’m supposed to be somewhere right after a workout. I've tried so many kinds of makeup removing wipes, but I always come back to good ole Neutrogena. I finally set myself up on a recurring subscription with Amazon so that they automatically ship to my door every few months. Since this workshop is all about my favorite tips, I'm giving one lucky attendee a free Charming Charlie "Wallaby Joey Bag-In-Bag filled with one of my favorite dry shampoos, my Neutrogena wipes, and of course some Eos lip balm because the packaging is so ergonomically happy.

Now for even more fun stuff, the outfits! My favorite places to buy workout clothes are Target, Old Navy, and Express. I also recently signed up for Fabletics and have loved my picks every month since! So, what inspiration have I pulled together for you today?
Tank (maternity for extra length) | Shorts (other colors here) | Headband | Yoga towel

Tank (maternity for extra length) | Skirt (current options here) | Soludos espadrilles | Clutch (option here)

Outfit #1: Yoga to happy hour. An easy knit skirt is a closet staple. I have half a dozen of them in all different shapes and lengths. They are as comfy as a tee shirt, but you fool everyone into thinking you put forth more effort into getting dressed. You can always count on accessories to kick your outfit up a notch and an embellished clutch and simple espadrilles do just that. The Fashion Lane is perfect for basics like this tank and adorable accessories like this clutch, so I hope you were able to score some goodies!
Fabletics tank | Fabletics leggings | Yoga Six water bottle

Fabletics tank | Kendra Scott necklace | Express plaid top (shop current colors here) | Fabletics leggings | New Balance sneakers (similar here)

Outfit #2: Yoga to brunch. There is something about New Balance and Nike Internationalist sneakers that make me always want to eat brunch when I wear them! Just add these to your fave yoga tank and leggings, layer on a long pendant necklace, use a boyfriend plaid shirt as an accessory around your waist, and all of a sudden you look like an off-duty model, as one of my blogger besties likes to say! I mentioned the long pendants, and I have to say that Kendra Scott pieces are so well made and beautiful to look at! If that's too much of a splurge for you, Charming Charlie has a lot of great Kendra Scott dupes (like this), and for a fraction of the price. Lucky for you, Kendra Scott donated one set of earrings and two necklaces for one of my participants today!
Fabletics tank | Fabletics sports bra | Express leggings (shop current colors here)

Express chambray (similar) | Fabletics sports bra | Express leggings (shop current colors here) | Converse Chuck Taylors

Outfit #3: Yoga to errands. Don’t be afraid to tone down your wild workout leggings with a chambray shirt. Plus, it will keep you warm when you’re walking through the cold meat and dairy sections at the grocery store! The only thing that makes this outfit even more functional is a classic, oversized tote. I have this one from Madewell that is perfect to throw a change of clothes in to/from the yoga studio, but it's still lightweight enough to carry on my shoulder while I'm running errands. I love that this tote from Charming Charlie is a bag within a bag. Such a win/win and I knew it would be perfect for one of you participants to go home with today!

And here's a bonus flat lay for you, although it's not "exclusive" content since I did post it on Instagram ahead of the event here. I wanted to include it in this post because I love the idea of throwing on a kimono over a tank and leggings after a workout! Not into kimonos? Do a summer scarf instead! Two lucky participants will receive this kimono from CS Gems and a leopard infinity scarf from Charming Charlie.

Thanks so much for your participation! Hope you were able pull some kind of inspiration from here! Before I go, if you missed it, you can read all about my fitness journey here. And every month I share my picks from Fabletics, so you can follow along here. I'll be recapping the entire yoga and style event in a future blog post, so I hope you'll check in next week to relive it all with me! Thanks again!
