March Fabletics + Pilates update

Pilates ballet stretches cadillac

Another month means another Pilates update. Admittedly, I feel like I don't have much to say this month because I inadvertently took two weeks off of working out! I had every intention of doing some Pilates while I was in Nashville, but I had zero free time, so I just had to let it go. The week afterwards was spent trying to catch my breath and I mentally just had to take a break from extracurricular activities. Sometimes your body has its own way of telling you to slow your roll. I love talking about Pilates though, so I couldn't not share the minor updates since last month!

February Fabletics + Pilates update

We're basically in the last week of February, and I normally try and do these Fabletics/Pilates updates posts closer to the start of the month! Usually, I order my outfit on the 1st of the month and shipping is so fast, I almost always have it in my hands within that first week of the month. February took a bit longer to get here. The package didn't arrive until Valentine's Day! Better late than never! I certainly didn't want to skip a month because these posts are really helpful and rewarding for me to put together in terms of my certification. Ok! Let's get started!

January Fabletics + Pilates update

Fabletics Josie Sweater, Fabletics Salar Legging, Hunter matte black boot

Happy Workout Wednesday! Is that a thing? I think it's a thing, if not, I'm making it a theme today. As per previous months, I wanted to document how the last month of my Pilates certification has been going as well as share my latest picks from Fabletics. This post is going to be a bit photo heavy as I decided to split this post up into two parts - the outfit and then the update. I'm also finding that many people know little to nothing about Pilates in general, so I wanted to share some screen captures from one of my workouts so you can start to get familiar with some of the exercises! Ok first, the outfit.

November Fabletics & Pilates update

Fabletics "Camelina" outfit, "Mariela" tank, "Dash" seamless bra II, "Salar" legging
Fabletics: "Camelina" outfit (3-pieces)

I am beyond obsessed with these leggings! I have the Salar leggings in a couple of different prints now, but this red and purple pair is so much fun! They make me happy, and the fit is my favorite. I get mine in a small short and they fit really perfectly. The top is also a lot of fun. I've been wanting a tie back top and was excited to see this one as an option. You can't see the bra that came with it, but it's so pretty and strappy and ridiculously comfy. I have several colors now, and I reach for them the most out of all my sports bras. I will say that I'm definitely not on the busty side, so they provide adequate support for me, but I could see them not being supportive enough for anyone bigger than a B cup. Just a warning.

October Fabletics

It's a new month which means that I got to pick out a new Fabletics outfit! Woohoo! If you're unfamiliar with Fabletics, it's Kate Hudson's activewear line. It's free to join, and every month they release new styles that you can shop at discounted prices. What I love about it most is that you can pick your own outfit, unlike other subscription services where you may give general parameters of your style and preferences and someone picks stuff out for you. They do have "suggested" looks for you, but you can always choose to select your own outfits or "skip" a month if you see nothing you like at no charge. I went into more detail about it in my first review post here. If you're interested, you can sign up for free here!

September Fabletics

September Fabletics "Greer" outfit, "Petal" tank and "Salar" capri

I always look forward to the first of the month because that means I get another new outfit from Fabletics! Ok, so granted, I could technically shop the website any time I want, but the fact that I get the discount at the first of the month certainly helps me contain my urge to shop. Though, I've definitely been guilty of buying things later in the month just because… I haven't shared my picks lately, so here is what I selected for September!

Summer Olympics Survival

We are back with week 2 of our coast to coast summer survival series! I have teamed up with 4 other bloggers as we share our summer survival tips, tricks, and topics every Tuesday in August. I am representing the midwest, and in case you missed last week's theme, you can catch yourself up HEREThis week is all about the Summer Olympics! If you're anything like us, it's the only thing you've been watching since the opening ceremony on Friday night. It's really hard not to get completely sucked in and captivated by every event. Reality TV at its absolute best! Today, I thought I would cover three simple topics related to the Olympics: 1) Showing team spirit 2) Dressing like an Olympian and 3) Training like an Olympian.

A beginner's guide to Yoga Six classes

As a community ambassador for Yoga Six, I have agreed to attend class at least once a week, bringing at least one guest with me every other week in exchange for free classes. It's been about 6 weeks or so now, and I am really, really loving it. I'm confident that I will continue to practice at their studios well beyond my ambassador agreement. I would definitely classify myself as a beginner to yoga. While I've taken a few classes in the past and am familiar with the basic poses, I'm far from being able to do head or hand stands! When I first started trying to recruit people to practice with me for free, I thought it would be easy! Who doesn't like free stuff? I didn't get crowds of people knocking down my door to come with me and I was getting the sense that many were intimidated by the class descriptions, especially since there is no reference to "beginner yoga" anywhere. Now that I've had a chance to attend a variety of classes, I wanted to put together a post describing each class type I've attended and their level of difficulty for me as a beginner.

May Fabletics

fabletics, may 2016, Asmara outfit: Femina tank, Salar capri, Lyra bra

So far I have had a 100% success rate with everything that I've tried at Fabletics. I still look forward to the first of every month so I can start shopping for my new outfit. May was no exception. I basically wore this outfit the second I got it in the mail. The best part of this outfit though is the back view.

(I'm wearing a small in all three pieces)

The top did end up feeling a little too baggy for my taste, but it was nothing my little knot trick could not fix. And I am such a fan of their sports bras. They always fit so well and are extremely comfortable. I've been loving them so much! I was really wanting a non-black pair of leggings because their prints are just too much fun, but I couldn't get the color and size combination to work out, so I ended up having to get plain black. It's not necessarily a bad thing though because you really can't ever have too many pairs of black leggings. These fit great. They lock and load your body without the muffin top. I really love the support they provide.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that anytime I wear any of my Fabletics pieces, I always get compliments. And then they are usually followed with gasps of surprise because they are shocked that they're Fabletics. Perhaps it's a good thing I've only recently discovered my love for them because I would have a lot less money by now!

Fabletics Review

A couple of weekends ago, the husband and I went to lunch straight from the gym. We ended up in the same shopping center as an Old Navy, so I asked him if we could do some window shopping since I hadn't been inside an Old Navy for awhile. I ended up wandering around the athletic clothing section and had 2-3 things picked out. Everything was full price though, and I was having second thoughts about spending the money. The husband said, "You should try Fabletics." And I thought, "Hmm. I think I will!"

When you first go to their website, they will ask you to take a short little survey so they can get to know your workout habits a bit better. Basically trying to figure out if you're a runner, if you workout at the gym, or spend your time in a yoga studio. They also ask questions around your color and print preferences.

Once you complete the survey, you're then prompted to pick out your first outfit for $25. They select outfits based on your survey results, however, if you don't like any of their picks, you can simply select "view all outfits" to see what else they have to offer. I ended up going with the "Neroli" outfit. What's nice is that even though the outfit is modeled in all black, if it comes in other colors or prints, you have the option of selecting one of those instead. I could have also purchased more items above and beyond this outfit if I wanted to, but the $25 deal only applied to this one outfit as pictured.

Fabletics neroli outfit review

I ended up ordering both the top and bottoms in a size small and was really happy with the fit. The bottoms are called "joggers" and while they're not as super skin tight as my other workout leggings, they clearly aren't as loose as joggers typically are to me. It makes me wonder if they called them joggers because of the thick bottom hem, which can slip over your heel as I have them. LOVE that detail.

I am really happy with both the quality and the fit. Based on some video reviews I watched, I was afraid that the bottoms would be too small for me, but they worked out just fine. No muffin top action! I will continue to order smalls in the future. My current workout clothes are from Target, Old Navy, Express, and Gap. I do have a few pairs of Zella leggings as well. The quality is just as good, if not better than all of the above.

Fabletics neroli outfit review

So, how does this all work? Well, new styles are released on the 1st of every month. I simply log into my account on the 1st and see which outfits they've selected for me. Similar to how I picked out this first outfit, if I do not like any they've chosen, I can view "all outfits" and pick out something on my own. The difference is that each subsequent outfit is $49.95 instead of the initial $25 I paid for this first outfit. If I see nothing that I like, I can choose to "skip" that month and pay nothing. I have to take action (either buy something or choose to skip the month) by the 5th of the month. If I do nothing, then they will charge me $49.95, which ends up getting banked as store credit for future purchases. There's no contract and I can cancel at any time.

I'm really excited about this subscription! Now that I'm working out 5-7 times a week, I definitely spend a lot of time in workout clothes. Having something cute to wear is motivation to get my butt to the gym or Pilates studio. Seriously. I'm really happy that February was such a short month, which means March 1st comes even faster and I can get more clothes!

I've never gotten sweaty for blog photos before - well, at least not from working out, the summer heat is another story.... And of course, I had to do the plank 8378237686 times because the husband couldn't get the lighting quite right. I personally think he was just trying to torture me! Oh, and by the way, this post is not at all sponsored by Fabletics, I tried this all on my own, though if Kate Hudson wants to be my BFF and send me free stuff, who am I to argue?
