Catching up

Bottom: Photo source

Oh. Em. Gee. Where do I even start, guys? It's only been one week but I don't want to spend one week catching you guys up on my trip, so I need to attempt to condense everything. On top of this, I've missed blogging - reading other blog posts, being interactive with everyone. Well, let's start off by what *I've* missed. But first, a couple of shout outs.

Every Thursday Bethany and Meghan host the Three-fer Thursday Link Up. I was honored that they featured one of my looks while I was gone! Click here to check out which one.

My friend, Becky, blogs over at Because Chocolate Can't Get You Pregnant!!!! (love that, by the way) and she wrote a very sweet post mentioning me. I was very touched to read it, and I just had to give her a public thank you here! Thanks, Becky!!

Finally, there's this brand new blog that found me first, actually, called On the Daily E X P R E S S. It's a blog focused on the store, Express, and it's no secret that I buy/wear a lot of pieces from Express. I was mentioned in this post linking to other bloggers wearing Express. Pretty cool!

OK, so second, what the heck have I missed? Do tell! The two big pieces of news I've been seeing everywhere is the Limsanity at Target and the release of the new iPhone. Let's start with the iPhone. I'm excited. I can't help it - I get it from the husband who has brought me into this downward spiral addiction of Apple products. I remember back in the day I *refused* to get an iPhone. I was irritated with how much he was on his, and I swore up and down and I didn't need a phone that did all that. I was content with my Palm Treo. But then, Sprint pissed me off over and over, and I decided it was time to break up with them. If I was going to switch carriers, I may as well take the plunge and not only switch to AT&T but also get the iPhone. I remember hanging up with Sprint after telling them it was over, literally crying, looking at the husband with tear-filled eyes saying, "I'm getting an iPhone." And my life has never been the same since. We've upgraded every time, which some people think is crazy, but he ends up turning around and selling our existing phones on eBay for the cost of the new phone. We have my parents on our plans, so we end up getting upgrades faster - I believe AT&T speeds up your upgrade time depending on how much money you spend through them. (I could be wrong about that, but I remember hearing that somewhere.) But my point is, if it's a wash in price then why *not* get the new phone?! We are not going to be the ones waiting in line for them though - we shall wait patiently for our turn, but a new phone is definitely in my future. Which also means a new Kate Spade phone case is equally in my future. Weird how that works!

Ok, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target. I did have wifi at the hotel, only in our room and in the lobby, so I was able to jump online here and there while we were in Mexico. One morning we were recovering from a bit of a hangover so I decided to check out the collection. I did love the handbags, but I'm always wary about buying handbags online verses in person. I need to feel them, wear the straps on my shoulders, etc. So, my focus was on clothes. I liked a handful of items:

My favorite thing in the whole collection was the Animal print knit dress. The problem is, it covered the model's kneecaps, which means this would have been almost tea length on me. Since it's knit, I really didn't see the hope in getting it altered, not to mention for $30, it's not really worth the trouble in getting it altered, so sadly, I passed. The Colorblock sweater is also great, but again, I worried about how it would fit me seeing it on the model. It does a weird bubbling thing at her wrists, and her arms have got to be way longer than mine. I can only imagine the bubbling effect would be worse on me. Pass. The last two collections, I've scored a sweatshirt, and I've loved them both, so I was drawn to the Boom sweatshirt to keep up the tradition. I decided to just watch for this on sale and if it's meant to be, I will snag it! So, that leaves me with my only purchase, the Animal print skirt. I don't know why I am so drawn to this print. I love leopard print. I love cobalt. I love cobalt paired with leopard. And I love that this print incorporates both. I cannot wait to style this with tights and boots this fall!! I ended up ordering it in two sizes, so hopefully one will work out!

Hmmm, ok, so now what? This post is already a bit long to try and fit in a synopsis of my trip, so I'll just leave you with a teaser. This is from one of our sit down dinners at the French restaurant they had at the resort.

Earrings: Premier Designs | Dress: Express | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs "Classic Q Karlie" (other colors here) | Bracelet: Tasha | Wedges: Steven by Steve Madden "Waren"

Prawns (appetizer), French onion soup, Steak and Lobster tail, Creme brûlée

(I feel like I'm sitting in the oval office in this picture! haha)

More to come about my vacation. Hope you guys have had a great week and that you enjoyed all the lovely guest posters I left in your hands! I'm done talking - tell me about you? Did you have a fave guest poster? Did I miss anything else epic while I was gone? Did you partake in the Limsanity? Are you getting the new iPhone?! Spill it already!!
