Nordstrom Anni-Sale 2021

Man, I am so out of practice at this thing called blogging. Sometimes I miss it, but then sometimes I forgot how much work it really is! 

Admittedly, this year's anniversary sale snuck up on me. Usually, I'm stalking the catalog, dog-earring pages of things I love, and game planning my shopping trip. This year has been so different for so many reasons. 1) I don't really shop that much anymore to be honest. Case in point, years past, I usually have $350-400 in Nordstrom notes to use towards this sale. This year, I had a whopping $50!!! Thankfully, my brother and sister in law gave me a gift card for Christmas, so I at least had that going for me, but geez! And 2) I teach Pilates Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday now (anywhere from 2-3 hours during those days), so I find myself wearing workout clothes most days. Yep, I'm that person now.

But, all that said, I just can't not shop this sale. I was able to make a shopping appointment last minute, and ironically, this was the year I probably spent the most even though I had the least amount of notes to use ever. Let's see what I got, shall we?

Buying Lately

Well hey there guys! I don't know if it's because I had a shopping and brunch date with Jenna this weekend or because I was exchanging texts with Gina and Rachelle last night or because I purged my handbags and could picture every blog post photo I took with each of them that made me crave writing a blog post, but alas, here I am! Seemed fitting with Black Friday around the corner anyway. I do work from home now and admittedly don't shop near as much as I used to. I spend a lot of days in workout clothes thanks to midday workouts and teaching Pilates, but I still love me some shopping. I realized I accumulated quite a few new purchases, and thought I would share them! So let's get started.

The sale that everyone loves and hates is here! I've been shopping this sale even before I was a blogger, so although my posting schedule is sporadic, I can't not shop this sale! I live for this sale! It's really the only time (other than Black Friday) that I actually prefer to shop it in store vs. online! You guys! Admittedly, I'm not on Instagram as much just because that's the way life goes and priorities change. But the one thing that does not change is that I still hoard ALL my Nordstrom Notes for the Anniversary Sale! Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul 2018

Oh you guys. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is WORK. It's so much work! Yes, all bloggers are super annoying promoting this dang thing. And yes, I realize I make a small commission if you make purchases through my links, but I promise, even if I weren't a blogger, I would shop it. When I WASN'T a blogger, I DID shop it. That said, regardless of commission, I want to provide you honest feedback. Do I want you to shop through my links? Well of course! But I'm not going to be shady about it. Which is why I posted all of the product tags in my Instagram stories today vs. waiting until I was able to get affiliate links together. At the end of the day, I want to give you enough info to make informed purchases. That said - between my wish list post to sweating in the dressing room, to taking photos, snapping videos, to finding all the links on their site, formalizing everything into a post - it really is WORK! And I will be happy as soon as this post is done and I can hit "publish!" Enough babbling, let's just get to it!

Nordstrom Anniversary sale picks 2018

Well, it's here! The sale everyone hates but loves and loves to hate. It's like a train wreck in blogger world, I'm not going to lie. You just can't look away. I hate going on social media during this time because it's EVERYwhere and if it annoys me as a blogger, I can only imagine how it annoys a "regular" person. That said, I've loved this sale even before I was a blogger so I can't not shop it. And my stats during this time of year prove that a bulk of you guys love seeing what I want and buy, so I can't not blog about it! You can peek back at old sale posts here if you're interested!

I have a ritual! Wait for the catalog to arrive. Peruse it and sticky note everything I have my eye on. Give my wishlist to my sales associate, and then obviously, shop the sale and see what worked and what did not work. I wait all year for this sale, y'all. I save up ALL my Nordie Notes for this sale - I have about $400 accumulated to date ready to go for this year's sale! And yes, while it's the middle of summer and it's hard to get into the fall wardrobe frame of mind, well, I love seeing what the trends are for the upcoming season, and frankly, there are so many #nsale pieces I have in the past that I continuously wear season after season, so clearly something is working!!!

Buying lately

Hey guys, and happy Monday! This is going to be a short and sweet post today, and the only post for the week, unfortunately. I had a mini breakdown last week and I've realized that I could use a bit of a break. Dressing room diaries

I mentioned on Monday that I hadn't been shopping in awhile. That's probably how I justify shopping over the weekend. The husband wanted to go shoe shopping for himself, and I had been wanting to run to Nordstrom to pick up some tinted lip balm that I just ran out of. I made a pit stop in the clothing section before making it downstairs to cosmetics. I thought I would share some of the things I tried on! Christmas-week Purchases

2017 Black Friday purchases

Even though we were in San Antonio this year for Thanksgiving, that didn't stop me from doing some Black Friday shopping! Admittedly, I started shopping the sales online earlier in the week. There wasn't anything in particular I was looking for, I just personally like waking up at 6am to shop sales because, well, I'm a shopaholic and it's the one day of the year when I can blend in with the other crazies up that early. Since I get to the mall by 7am-ish, the crowds really are not bad at all! It started filling up closer to 10am, but we were done by then. Anyhoo, these are some of the things I've bought throughout the week.

Well, this is it!! I leave tonight for Boulder and I will be doing my final practical (teaching a full mat and reformer class to one client) tomorrow at noon and then my final performance (doing the Level 4 reformer repertoire) on my own Wednesday at noon. I'm anxious, excited, ready-ish. I had my last lesson with my host advisor on Friday and it went well, though Pilates is such a learning experience and there were tons of things I learned in that class alone that I can hopefully remember as I am doing my performance on Wednesday. Ahhhh!! Anyway, more about that after it's all said and done. Clearly it's all that has been on my mind lately! I do have all my outfits I wore every day last week to share with you before I go, so let's get started!

Buying and wearing lately

Thanks for everyone's sweet notes and understanding while I take a little step back from blogging for the next couple of weeks! It's all self-inflicted guilt over here feeling like I am failing by not being able to juggle everything at the moment, but I know at the end of the day, it is totally fine and you guys know that life just happens! It is SUPER refreshing to just let things go. It's amazing what it can do to lower your stress level and just give yourself some room to breathe and recharge. 

For example, I was going to take outfit photos this weekend of at least one outfit for today's post. But we didn't have anywhere in particular to go, so it would have involved me taking 45 minutes to an hour to get dolled up just to take photos for 5 minutes. The logic doesn't make sense, and the second I decided to NOT take photos and just share a random roundup with you this week instead, I immediately relaxed. And poof, I just gained a whole hour or more back into my day (on top of the extra hour we got falling back!) So yay for knowing when it makes more sense to just say no.

Glik's Shopping Haul

If you're local to the St. Louis metro east area, then chances are you have heard of Glik's! What you may not know though is that they have over 60 locations in 10 states around the country and you can also Shop Glik’s website! There is a definitely a "small town" feel to the store with trendy, boutique-y pieces, but you can still find the big brands you're familiar with like Free People, William Rast, North Face, and Alex and Ani.

I've met some of the Glik's team at past St. Louis Fashion Week events, and I've been following them on Instagram ever since. What's funny is I was thinking that it would be great to collaborate with them - I love supporting small, local businesses when it fits my blog, and their style is definitely something I could relate to. Within the week of me thinking this, I found an email in my inbox asking if I wanted to partner with them. If only all my random thoughts came to fruition like this!!
