I'm sharing my fashion week highlights a little bit out of order because this outfit was too good to not share on a Hello Monday! If you'd like to catch yourself up, you can see my favorites from the Emerging Designer Competition here. Saturday was dinner and a wrap party for Saint Louis Fashion Week at Ballpark Village downtown. I've only been on a Cardinals game day before, so it was pretty fun to explore it from a night life point of view! I ended up getting sick and couldn't attend last year's wrap party - my last event was the Naturalizer event that you can read about here. Missing last year's party made this year's wrap event extra special!
Originally, I planned on wearing my fringe skirt seen here. I had picked out outfits last week, and since then, I bought this necklace and this bag - both of which I wanted to wear for this event. I figured that would be A LOT of fringe, so instead I reached for my old faithful skort. I was pretty hesitant wearing this skort though because I wore it for the STLFW blogger lounge here! I'm pretty sure wearing the same thing to two fashion week's in a row is the biggest faux pas ever, but if anyone noticed, they sure hid it well. I figured if I did bare legs and OTK boots this year, it would be less obvious that I was a repeat offender.
Ballpark Village is a huge complex made up of several bars and restaurants, with one central seating area housing several ginormous screens for those simply wanting to watch a sporting event. It's right across the street from Busch Stadium, where the Cardinals play. We've popped in for a drink or so on game day before, but have never spent much time there, so all of this was pretty new to me.
Not the most optimum lighting for a bunch of fashion bloggers, but I never get to pose with other bloggers, so I had to share a photo anyway! And yes, there's another Jenna! (That's not confusing!) These girls are so sweet, and we all may or may not have a collaboration lined up with CS Gems next month! It's really great to grow my list of STL blogging contacts!
Dinner started at the Budweiser Brew House. We had a limited menu to choose from, but we had to laugh because all four of us not only ordered the exact same entree (steak and shrimp) but we all had our steaks cooked to the same temperature! (Medium, if you're curious.)
After dinner, we had a hoot of a tour guide named Tony the Beer Man. If you're lucky (or unlucky- ha) you got to see snippets of our tour on Snapchat as it happened. We started with the Beer Garden - this outdoor seating area with a cozy fireplace and lounge chairs, then made our way up several flights of stairs.
Horrible photo, but you get the idea. We were taken to the rooftop, where you can actually buy tickets on game day. The view of the empty stadium was stunning, and suddenly crazy Cardinals fan Caryl was very engaged in this tour! Definitely sitting here once the season starts again! Man, I miss baseball already. Haha!
This piece of artwork is amazing and unreal. And 18-year old made this in their bedroom! Out of plus or minus 5980 rubix cubes! I can't even do ONE rubix cube the way it's supposed to be. I cannot even imagine the time and talent it took to complete this. Apparently there was a lot of coverage around this art piece that I have been in the dark about. It was too good not to share on the blog. Oh, and if you're wondering who is being portrayed - it's Stan Musial, who is not only a legend to the Cardinals franchise, but to baseball itself.
The tour ended at Howl at the Moon, and I don't know about you, but dueling piano bars are my absolute favorite! We did end up making our way to the Crown Room - they had a lounge area blocked off for us, which was more conducive to socializing and having a conversation. It was a lot of fun - the husband even came to hang out for a bit also!
And that is it! There was also a Dim Sum lunch last Friday, which you will read about later this week. It's been a whirlwind, but a good one! Thanks again to Explore St. Louis and the Midwest Influencer Network for sponsoring this content and allowing me to attend these events!
