First of all, I apologize because I waited way too long to wear this cardigan and now it is sold out. So. Hopefully you saw when I originally posted about it and were able to snag it while it was still available!! I don't know about you, but sometimes you love things SO MUCH when you first get them. And yet they sit in your closet unworn. Why? Where does this change of heart come from?
Saturday I woke up expecting it to be fall temps outside, but it was muggy and in the 80's. BLECH. Sunday I woke up expecting it to be much like Saturday and it was crazy windy and in the 50s! Geez! Talk about wardrobe confused! I was literally in shorts on Saturday and this chunky knit sweater on Sunday. I don't know about you, but I'm over this purgatory-like weather!
Rachelle was kind enough to remind me that I have a couple of faux leather minis in my closet that need to be worn! They used to fit a bit snug, so I was excited to pull them out and be able to wear them and breathe at the same time. Breathing is always nice when you're in clothes, eh? She styled hers with a plain white tee and the most amazing booties. I decided to pull together some blogger cliche pieces and create a sweet + edgy look.
There are times I love to get all done up for the blog and then there are times like this when I'm all about real life. On the weekends, especially the day after a long night out, it's not uncommon for my hair to be thrown up in a messy pile with easy pieces I can grab that require little thought and no fuss. This outfit is the epitome of my summer weekend uniform.

I had to improvise and take photos during the week because of my weekend trips at the end of May. A fashion blogger's work is never done, right? But, I was happy with our shoot location, and even more happy about this outfit!
Happy Thanksgiving week! Now that the holidays are upon us, I've got all things sparkly on the brain! I've been wanting a pair of leggings like these for awhile but not all sequin leggings are created equal! I have this pair that are more like joggers, but I've been hunting for a true legging style. Express posted these leggings on their Snapchat before they were released, and I stalked their website (even more so than usual) until they were available! I'm glad I ordered them when I did because they're no longer available online and listed as "in store only." I'm sorry to tease you with them, but hopefully you can find them in store while you are Black Friday shopping. They are seriously amazing and I certainly plan to wear them to a holiday gathering or two.

I'm sharing my fashion week highlights a little bit out of order because this outfit was too good to not share on a Hello Monday! Saturday was dinner and a wrap party for Saint Louis Fashion Week at Ballpark Village downtown. I've only been on a Cardinals game day before, so it was pretty fun to explore it from a night life point of view! I ended up getting sick and couldn't attend last year's wrap party - my last event was the Naturalizer event that you can read about here. Missing last year's party made this year's wrap event extra special!
I don't feel like I have done one of these buying lately posts in quite some time, so I figured I should probably catch you guys up a little. These are things that I have bought but haven't officially worn on the blog yet. I do like to style things as soon as I receive them as a reminder to myself that I need to wear them. So when I'm in a "what do I wear" slump, I can just sift through my flat lays and it helps jog some ideas! Each of the outfits below features one recent purchase, so let's get started!

So I know I'm supposed to take it easy since I've been battling a cold all weekend, but I've spent all of today (Sunday) just sitting in my chair catching up on blog posts. To me, that's still taking it easy, as I'm not really moving. Right? And you know what, I am ALL DONE FOR THE WEEK! This is the first time I've been able to do this all week. And I actually have time to paint my nails and still have a good night's sleep. Hopefully this is indicative of a productive week!
I appreciate you guys hanging in there with me during an unconventional blogging week for me. I still enjoyed all of the content I prepared for you guys, even though I didn't have any new outfit photos to share. Anyway - have a great weekend! Let's be real. If I put together a post with all my random outfit selfies where I'm wearing olive, you'd be scrolling for an eternity. But a few weeks ago, I participated in a week long Instagram style challenge (check out hashtag here) and the challenge was all about olive and a few of its best pairings. I thought I'd go ahead and share some of my favorites from that week!
First up is the olive and stripes combination. I have a ton of stripes in my collection, so this was a pretty easy pairing. This midi skirt is still one of my most favorites in my collection.
Next up was olive and leopard. Though, really, I did leopard with my previous outfit, and this bag is really ocelot, not leopard, but you get the idea! And this reminds me that I need to take my flare jeans out for a spin again! I really love the fit of these, though I really can't ever give up my skinnies.
Olive and white was surprisingly a hard combo for me. But, it's a lot harder when all of your white pants are dirty. Oops. Luckily, I had just gotten these olive ponte knit pants, so I just paired my favorite knot tee and threw on a scarf to finish out the look.

Hot pink and olive was another combo in the challenge, and I ended up replicating the outfit I wore back in the day HERE. I'm still pretty obsessed with that look! And not on the challenge list was wine and olive, but since wine is one of my most favorite things to pair olive with, I wanted to go ahead and share that as my fifth outfit for this post! I just recently wore the combo in this post HERE.

Short and sweet for you today. Admittedly, I feel like I'm fighting a cold and really just need a good night's sleep! I had one good sneeze at the office this afternoon and have been stuffy and groggy ever since! There's no time to be sick! It's post season baseball!!!! Have a great weekend!
I don't know about you guys, but it's been a long week! It's been a long couple of weeks as a matter of fact. Make that a long FEW weeks! Between SoCal, and then NYC, and then the cousin's wedding, and then the concert -- my closet room looks like a complete nightmare, not like a happy place! My nails are chipped. I haven't been to Pilates in weeks. All we have in the pantry is Ramen. I've been a midnight blogger instead of pre-posting on the weekends. Sigh. I am looking forward to a normal weekend of no plans and just trying to catch up on life!! First world problems to the max, I know! I realized after pulling these outfits together that I've been transitioning into fall outfits for a few weeks now because these are all a few weeks old, but they're still pretty relevant to the cooler temps. Or perhaps I just have a high tolerance for heat and dress like it's fall anyway! Either way, now that it's October, that means post-season baseball and layers! Lots of layers! I am pretty sure fall is my favorite season of the year. I just can't believe it's here already!!
Well, it is officially fall, can you believe it? Because I can't. I was super excited to wear leggings and a lightweight scarf this week, but by yesterday, we were back into the upper 80s. My weekend festivities officially start at 5:15 this afternoon. We have the rehearsal dinner tonight and then we're meeting at the salon at 8:45 tomorrow morning for hair and makeup! The ceremony is in the afternoon, then we party bus it all day until the reception at night! I'm exhausted thinking about it, but also seriously excited because I know it will be so much fun! I knew she's inspired many looks and purchases over the last couple of years that I have "known" her, but once I started putting this post together, I feel like I'm bordering stalker status here! Goodness! I'm glad she still likes me! I just love love love her style, specifically the way she pairs pieces together and she's always able to find the greatest steals! I told you there was some Single White Female action going on up on this blog! But, really, can you blame me? Naturally I had to keep the momentum going on her actual birthday, so my look today is 100% Pink Sole inspired. I just loved how she paired camel with her black and white striped dress.
A striped dress is such a staple for me! I would normally try and layer or pattern mix or do some sort of color pop, but although I ended up not going with a true camel color for my bag and booties like she did, I still think these taupes provide a similar look and feel to the outfit. They really let the dress speak for itself.
Sometimes it's the easiest of combinations that I never think of, but I love them just the same. And that's one more reason why I adore Rachelle's style because she can mix things up just as easy as she can keep things simple. I really hope she has a special day and enjoys her birthday weekend!
