If you are local to St. Louis, you can catch me this morning at 8:15am doing a FOX 2 news segment with Galentine's Day party ideas! (Edited to include link to segment HERE!) If you're like my mom, you're thinking, "What's Galentine's Day?" I like to think of it as celebrating the holiday with your girlfriends, whether you are single, married, or somewhere in between! I thought it would be fun to tie in today's blog post with that theme also! It gives me a chance to share what I wore (and why I chose this) along with some ideas for what you and your girlfriends can do here in the St. Louis metro area before you spend your night in sipping on wine and snacking on some goodies!

Black blazer, Alexia Admor faux suede dress, snow leopard scarf, black tights, black strappy pumps

First the outfit. Not going to lie, I struggled with this so much! They sent me a link with tips on what to wear and what not to wear, and apparently what not to wear is everything in my closet! No prints or patterns, no big shiny jewelry, nothing too dark, but nothing too light. I really struggled with the no patterns thing the most. I realized I have hardly any solids in my wardrobe! My intent was not to wear the scarf or the blazer on air. Definitely not the scarf, that's just for warmth (and for work after.) The blazer was just in case they needed a lapel to attach a mic to. I wasn't positive, so I wanted to make sure I had a jacket just in case. Otherwise, I decided to wear the same dress I wore for a November wedding (you can see that original post here.) I thought the color was festive enough, given the theme, and the shape and fit are super easy so I wouldn't be stressed or fidgeting with my outfit the whole time.

I figured the camera would be focused on my upper body, so I didn't think it was a big deal that I was wearing dark tights. Tights are still a necessity right now after all. And naturally I had to wear heels. I love the way this strappy pair looks with tights!

Alright, so my idea of an awesome Galentine's Day? Why not start it with a group workout! I think Pilates or Barre would be a fun group activity. I know I'm biased, but just go with me on this. If you're on the Missouri side of the STL metro area, the ladies at Clayton Pilates Studio are the best! On the Illinois side, The Pilates Barre Studio is my home studio, so naturally you must try that!

After the workout, it's time for brunch. It's always time for brunch. On the Missouri side of the river, my favorite brunch place is Rooster. Anywhere that provides self serve coffee while you wait for your table is a good one if you ask me! For the metro easters, it's no secret that Cleveland Heath has my most favorite brunch. You have seen many a snap from there if you follow me on Snapchat! (@carylee07) They aren't open on Sundays, so you have to catch them on Saturday morning!

Now that you're nice and full, you'll need to relax for a bit. So, why not continue the party at Maplewood Beauty Bar? You can get that sweat washed out of your hair while you drink wine and chit chat with your besties! If you want to go all out, just make an appointment at the Four Seasons spa. It will rock your world.

You can then party on to Frontenac. Set up some time at the Color Bar at Kendra Scott. If anyone knows how to celebrate Galentine's Day, those ladies do! Other places I would shop would be the outlet mall (duh), Central West End, U City, downtown St. Charles, or with my friends at the Paperdolls Boutique! By then, you'll definitely be ready for some chillaxing! These are the products I was given to sample and review!

The Bachelor Wine: Available here | Mama Mancini's Meatballs | Explore Cuisine: Available here | Sparkling Ice: Available here | Little Kernel "Miniature" popcorn | Gaea's Organic Olives | Welch's Valentine's Day Fruit Snacks: Available here | T-Fal Color Luxe Ruby Red Cookware Set: Available here

I do love that you can be out with your girlfriends all day, but these sips and snacks are all easy to throw together once you're back at the house without neglecting your guests. I would play a good chick flick as background noise. My favorites in no particular order -- Serendipity, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Sweet Home Alabama, Friends with Benefits, Little Black Book, Something Borrowed, Crazy Stupid Love. The only reason why I didn't mention The Notebook or Titanic in that bunch is because the endings make me snot cry, and I don't need to snot cry on Galentine's Day.

The only thing that's missing is dessert. My favorite place to hit up is Bailey's Chocolate Bar. Also, we just tried Fountain on Locust last year, and I've been thinking of it ever since! Holy desserts!

I think this post would serve as a good gift guide for me too, ha! Because seriously, all of this from beginning to end sounds like the best day ever! (*coughcough giftcards coughcough*)

What a whirlwind it was to do this news segment! So much fun though! I think the experience itself is worth its own post! Ha! If you missed it, you can see the full segment here! Thanks for reading!
