What's up Wednesday

It's the last Wednesday of the month which means it is time once again to link up with MelShay, and Sheaffer for What's up Wednesday! This is a great way to recap the month of outfits as well as share some of my latest life randoms. Let's get started!

At the Jim Beam Distillery
Outfit details: Hat from Woodford Reserve Distillery | Top: CS Gems | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Milla" | Leggings: Zella | Sneakers: Adidas "Superstar"

What I'm reminiscing about:
This is easy because it's so fresh in my head! This past weekend, we decided to venture to the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky. You can read all about it in Monday's post here, though the distillery I hadn't been to at the time I wrote the post was unfortunately the best one! Jim Beam got me through my college years, and the distillery definitely did not disappoint! It was our favorite of the four we visited for so many reasons - the campus was gorgeous with a restaurant and bourbon bar on premises. We got to bottle our own bourbon! And we also got to see Mila Kunis' own bourbon barrel! (Hello, girl crush!) Those were my highlights, but there were so many other great things about this tour. Well worth the stop if you are debating on which to see!

What we have been up to:
Not much, yet a lot at the same time. I feel like work travel has been extra busy these last couple of weeks for the both of us. And at the same time, we're trying to take care of "adult" stuff like get quotes for a new roof thanks to hail damage and find a new car for me since we just made the last payment on our lease. It's also been a couple of weeks now since we lost Petie, and while we are picking up the pieces and trying to focus on the happy times with him, it's definitely been an emotional roller coaster. There are days I cry again, and I know that's normal, but it's still hard.

Me on the reformer doing "big" swan

What I'm working on:
Trying to keep the momentum up with Pilates. You can catch the full update in last week's post here, but I'm basically trying to catch up and stay motivated. I am so super excited for my trip to Boulder in a couple of weeks!! It doesn't look like the husband can go with me, but the owner of the studio is going so I will at least have someone to share in the excitement with me!

My new nephew, Carter! <3

What I'm excited about:
My new nephew!!! My sister in law went into labor over 2 weeks early. Her water broke in the middle of a restaurant after dinner last weekend, and about 14 hours later, this cutie decided to make his appearance! He is such a doll and I'm thankful for social media and texting because I get to gush over all the photos. His name is Carter Reed which I realize sounds super similar to Caryl Lee even though my brother denies me being his namesake! Ha! I get it though. He doesn't want to hurt my sister's feelings! Anyway! I cannot wait to meet this guy in person.

What I'm listening to:
One of my favorite songs at the moment is "Issues" by Julia Michaels. The lyrics resonate with me, and it's just catchy. I've been scream-singing it a lot much to the husband's demise.

I'm jealous, I'm overzealous
When I'm down, I get real down
When I'm high, I don't come down
I get angry, baby, believe me
I could love you just like that
And I could leave you just this fast
But you don't judge me
'Cause if you did, baby, I would judge you too
No, you don't judge me
'Cause if you did, baby, I would judge you too
'Cause I got issues
But you got 'em too
So give 'em all to me
And I'll give mine to you
Bask in the glory
Of all our problems
'Cause we got the kind of love
It takes to solve 'em
Yeah, I got issues
And one of them is how bad I need you
You do shit on purpose
You get mad and you break things
Feel bad, try to fix things
But you're perfect
Poorly wired circuit
And got hands like an ocean
Push you out, pull you back in...

What I'm wearing:
I feel like I'm a walking billboard for American Eagle lately, but I'm sorry I'm not sorry. I browse their website even more in the summer months because their weekend stuff is too good and their prices are reasonable. Despite their reputation, American Eagle clothes run pretty true to size for me, not junior sizing as I'm sure you would expect. And don't even get me started on their jeans!

Loopy Case in Wine (I just ordered it in White Marble!)

What else is new?
Hrmmm, not much else is new around these parts! Though I did just get a new phone case, again! I've been raving about my Loopy Cases because they're so convenient! I recently got my third one in white marble and it's definitely my favorite because it's feminine and fun. This is totally not a sponsored blurb, I just really love the convenience of the loop and have the husband turned onto it now, too!

And that is it! Somehow, someway, it is June tomorrow and that blows my mind. That means the #nsale catalog will be here before you know it and then I get to spend all my Nordstrom notes I've been saving up since this time last year! Wooooooo!!!! But I guess I shouldn't get ahead of myself! Let's start by having a great rest of the week!!

  2. Loved this update! Even though I guess I knew all of this it's still a fun refresher in what's going on in your life lately...and what you have coming up. I'm especially excited for your Boulder trip because I think it's going to be awesome (for you).
