Manic Monday: 18 months

Happy Manic Monday! Hope everyone had an amazing weekend whether you celebrate Easter or not! And with that, I'll just get right to today's look!

I love these pants but I don't know why I have a hard time styling them without finding Pinspiration first. The last time I wore them was back before this little blog existed and I was still taking OOTD selfies in our office gym. This is me next to my Pinspiration back then:

Another benefit to photo documenting your outfits is being able to know what specific date you wore something. These pants - October 8, 2012. Wait, 2012?? That was a whole year and a half ago! Well, at least these pants have staying power to last multiple seasons.  (And is it just me, or do you also breathe a sigh of relief when you try something on you haven't worn in forever and it still fits?!)

Kellie, a resident Manic Monday-er who blogs over at ie-style.com wrote this post recently about her yellow wishlist, and it inspired me to get these pants back into the rotation sooner rather than later. I knew it'd been awhile since I last wore them; I just didn't realize "awhile" meant 18 months!

I loved the idea of this outfit, especially because I realized I hadn't worn my new red portofino yet! The color palette is definitely not for the timid, and to be honest, I wasn't sure how I would like it on me. I'm very glad I tried it on because I think the saturated color gorgeous and fun, and well, I could not resist adding a hint of leopard in there, too!

Sunnies: Vince Camuto | Earrings: Stella and Dot | Necklace: Express (option) | Top: Express | Pants: Madewell (crazy sale but limited sizes here) (option) (option) | Belt: Express | Bracelets: Stella and Dot, Gorjana | Bag: Michael Kors (option) | Shoes: Valentino

It's been pretty hectic around these parts, I can't even lie about it. I have had to travel two days a week every week so far this month and while I'm passed that now, it's even crazier trying to cram everything in before I leave for vacation!! Vacation is awesome but the week before and the week after really suck, am I right?

  5. FWIW I think your pin source on red + yellow is Brooklyn Blonde. :) I'm with Sydney, the combo is definitely more bold than I would wear but love your fearlessness! And I also agree w/ you that the week before and the week after a trip are LE SUCK! But you are almost to Jamaica so who cares?!

  6. Three words- You. Look. Fabulous! I document most of my outfits on the free app called "Cloth" It's great because you can categorize each look and write down all the details. I love this because sometimes I forget which tunic works best underneath a top or what jewelry I wore. I can go right back into the outfit and see all the deets. It also tells the date which, as you know, is uber helpful! I love this color combo because it is not expected. Such an inspriational look! Thanks girl!

  15. Hooray for bold combinations! I have a pair of yellow pants that have surprised me as well with their versatility. Many of my yellow outfit combinations are the most pinned on Pinterest. It's not a color I would've considered before jumping into the blogging world. Isn't it fun to try new things?

  25. Well, I'm glad you pulled these pants back out because they're adorable! I don't have an abundance of closet space so I have to put all of my out-of-season items in storage. I'm excited to pull out my summer stuff soon- it may feel like getting a new wardrobe!
