Hey everyone! Happy Monday! Hope your weekends were productive and/or relaxing! Hopefully a mix of both! Since last weekend I spent so much time cleaning and purging the closet room, I definitely steered towards the "relaxing" side of the spectrum this weekend. Watched a couple of movies, had a long mani pedi, and brunched with the girls. It was nice! This week is going to be crazy busy with travel. I'm gone 3 days for work and then I leave next weekend for a long weekend for the nephew's first birthday party! But let's talk about this outfit first!

Springy fiesta
I had no idea what to title this post. "How to wear pink pants?" "Another off the shoulder top?" "I bought these pants in a 4th color?" The earrings and the clutch and the embroidered sleeve felt very fiesta to me, so I just went with springy fiesta. Probably not good for my Search Engine Optimization, but whatever. That's all I got!

Floral ruffle cami dress
A couple of weeks ago, I had another Facebook live video with Carrie and Stacy from CS Gems, which was all about outfit ideas for a winery or other warm-weather outdoor events. I summarized my suggestions in this blog post here, and the first thing I raved about was this cami dress from Express. Naturally, I ended up buying another color for the season. I ended up with three last year, and I'm not even a little sorry about that. I just love the way they fit me, and since I don't have enough yellow in my closet, I opted for this beautiful floral print as my next acquisition. I'm guessing it's a popular item with them or they wouldn't have released it in a jillion other colors.

Striped top + scallop shorts
Sharing another warm-weather look today. I realize some of you may be still freezing your booties off, and frankly, it hasn't been the warmest of weather in these parts either, but it's mid-April and I'm basically over all things winter. Last week's Sip and Style video I did with CS Gems made me even more excited for warm weather and I ended up ordering a lot of spring/summery things as a result! This top and these shorts being part of my new purchases! The crazy sales right now are not helping my cause either!

Off-the-shoulder bell sleeve top
Hey, hey! Happy Wednesday! I've made it through half a week (almost) of work since the holiday break. It's all downhill from here! Thankfully I love my job and I love my coworkers, so it hasn't been terrible! Hope your week is going well also! Today I'm sharing another outfit I wore while we were in Florida last week.

Studded velour blazer
Hello Monday, indeed! This is my first day officially back in the office since December 21st, so needless to say, it's been a doozy! But it's nice to get back into a normal routine again, I'm not going to lie. I loved relaxing and vegging, but there definitely comes a point when you realize you haven't showered in 4 days and it's time to do something with your life!!! Hope everyone had a great holiday, and here's to a productive, rewarding, and even better 2018!!

Outfit details--- Sunnies: Ray Ban | Earrings: Nickel and Suede (c/o) | Blazer: Leith studded velour blazer | Cami: Express "Barcelona" (options here, here) | Bag: Gucci Soho (option, red flap crossbody budget option, red crossbody with chain strap budget option) | Skirt: Express (option, option) | Shoes: Valentino Rockstud wraparound strap ---
This is the outfit I ended up wearing on New Year's Eve while we were in Orlando last week. If you caught my blog post over the break here or saw my try-on snaps, you're already in the know about this studded velour blazer. It's gorgeous; I fell in love with it instantly! I loved the idea of pairing it over a simple slip dress or a cami/flirty skirt like this. And, since we were in Florida, going bare legged was a reasonable life choice! If you have any winter weddings this January or February, this blazer would be great option!
We had dinner reservations at Roy's on New Year's Eve, and it was all very delicious! They had a special menu for the occasion. We started off with some lobster potstickers and I got some Asian chicken noodle soup. For our entree, we split a 34 oz. ribeye. YEP. 34 ounces of juicy goodness. We didn't finish it, for the record, we took some home in a box! I was most excited about their pineapple upside down cake. I've only eaten here one other time before, and that dessert is what stuck in my head all this time! Our dinner ran pretty late. By the time we got back to the resort, it was 11:30 eastern time, so we had just enough time to change and watch the ball drop on TV. I ended up being asleep before it turned midnight central time! But hey, at least I was up for eastern time midnight?
I don't really have a list of resolutions this year. I didn't do any last year either. I think last year my goal was simply to keep my head above water. This year, if I had to choose one thing to focus on, it would be to make 2018 about ME. I tend to let the situations and relationships around me dictate my mood, stress levels, and overall happiness. But, you can only control what you can control, right? And while I can't control life, I can control the way I let life affect ME. And I want to be more positive in how I react to life's twists and turns. I want to focus on making myself better and taking care of myself regardless of my situations. Instead of reaching for that bourbon, I need to clear my mind with a good workout and watch my body get back into better shape as a result. We will see how well I do with this! Do you have any goals for the new year?

Fall colors + the skinny pant
Oh hey, it's me! And I was finally able to take blog photos this weekend, which makes me a bit happy! I picked up this top and these pants a couple of weeks ago during one of Express' 40% off sales and I've been wanting to wear them together ever since (even though I didn't necessarily buy them to wear together.) The colors scream fall and even though the weather won't make up it's mind, I am certainly ready for all things fall including switching my wardrobe from hot to cool weather once and for all!

Floral dress and leather earrings
The last time I wore this floral dress, I paired it with nude suede sandals, but today I wanted to wear it with some metallic heels and my new gunmetal leather earrings. The beauty about a good metallic is that it goes with literally anything. This dress is such a bright statement so I like to keep the shoes neutral. Metallics are a good option for a neutral. Plus, I feel like the metallic shine factor instantly kicks the outfit up a dressy notch or two.
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Quay "High Key" | Earrings: Nickel and Suede in large Gunmetal (c/o) | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Cami" (other colors here) | Bag: Express (under $10 striped clutch here, option) | Dress: Express | Shoes: Kate Spade "Licorice" (budget options here, here) ---

Plush off-the-shoulder sweater

Sunnies: Charming Charlie (c/o) | Sweater: Express (other option here) | Leggings: Spanx (budget option) | Boots: Sole Society "Calypso" (option, option)
I don't know why my love and need and longing for all the cozy sweaters has heightened this season, but when I saw this I knew I had to have it. It's perfectly slouchy without being super oversized on me, and the plush material is extra soft! I will admit that it was freezing the day we took these photos, but I had to ditch the jacket for the photos or else you'd miss the best part of the outfit!

Schoolgirl to sassy
Sunnies: Ray Ban | Necklace: Express (option) | Bag: Express (current version here) | Top: JCrew | Skirt: ASTR (option here and here) | Booties: Vince Camuto "Kathleen"
Rachelle was kind enough to remind me that I have a couple of faux leather minis in my closet that need to be worn! They used to fit a bit snug, so I was excited to pull them out and be able to wear them and breathe at the same time. Breathing is always nice when you're in clothes, eh? She styled hers with a plain white tee and the most amazing booties. I decided to pull together some blogger cliche pieces and create a sweet + edgy look.

The slouchy sweater
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Quay "High Key" | Earrings: Kendra Scott "Danielle" | Sweater: Express "lace-up high-lo sweater" | Bag: Chanel | Bottoms: American Eagle | Boots: Dolce Vita (this season's version, cheaper option) ---
Ok, I promise this is the last lace-up anything I will buy in awhile! Promise! Can you blame me though? I have been craving slouchy sweaters as well, so the fact that this had the lace up detail also was a no brainer. To be honest, when I first tried it on in store, I thought it was too boxy and I passed on it. But then I kept thinking about it. And thinking about it. And thinking about it. So I finally ordered it. And now I love it. Weird how this happens!

Fave fall trend: Crisscross applesauce

Outfit details--- Sunnies: Quay | Scarf: Express | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff "Regan" (similar colors here and here) | Top: Express One Eleven deep v-neck lace-up tee (shop other options here, here, here) | Jeans: AG (similar here, budget option here) | Booties: DV Dolce Vita "Arlynn" ---
Happiest of Tuesdays! I am back with week 3 of the fall collaboration series with nine other fabulous bloggers! If you missed the other two weeks, you can see which summer piece I am repurposing for fall here and what my holy grail fall piece is here. This week we are here to close out the series sharing our ten take on our favorite fall trend. I was originally going to cover the cold shoulder/ off-the-shoulder trend since I just can't get enough of it, but at the last minute, I realized that I have this growing obsession with all the lace-up and crisscross strappy details.

Moto and lace
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Quay "High Key" | Scarf: Modcloth | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Margot" (c/o) (also available here) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Top: Grace and Lace "striped perfect fit tank" | Jacket: Express "Double Peplum Minus the Leather" | Skirt: Halogen (option, option) | Shoes: Louise et Cie (option) ---
This outfit was inspired by Kim (The Style Tutor) and her Instagram post here. I always love pairing opposites together like this sweet lace skirt and tougher moto jacket, so I knew I was going to recreate it the second I saw her look. Such a good combo. I threw on the blanket scarf for extra warmth and added interest. The plaid and lace print mix is a good one!

The return of the blanket scarf
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Ray Ban (option, budget option) | Scarf: BP | Dress: Express | Bag: Madewell "Transport" tote | Bracelet: Kendra Scott "Candice" | Booties: Joie "Monte" (option, option) ---
I remember three years ago when Zara released the infamous blanket scarf that started this all and I wondered if they were going to stay relevant season after season. Well, at this point, I'm not really seeing an end in sight. I still find myself craving a good scarf, and I was excited to whip this one out for the season again!

What's up Wednesday
Sunnies: Ray Ban | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff "Regan" (similar colors here and here) | Sweater: Express | Bottoms: American Eagle "Jegging crop" | Booties: Free People "Hybrid" (last worn here)
It's the last Wednesday of the month which means it's time for another dose of What's Up Wednesday, the linkup hosted by Mel, Shay, and Sheafer. I really don't have an editorial type blog, if you didn't notice. Because work can be stressful, I often keep my content on the blog very light and easy to read. But, it's also nice to share actual life stuff with you guys once in awhile, and these prompts are the perfect conduit to allow me to share! Let's get started!

Need more yellow
Sunnies: Oakley | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Phara" (gifted) | Bag: Express (current style here) | Top: Express (option, option) | Bracelets: Kendra Scott "Blake" (gifted) | Leggings: Express (option, option) | Heels: SJP "Fawn"
I always tell myself I need more yellow in my wardrobe. I always love it when I wear it, especially when it's more of a mustard hue like this, but it's never my first choice of colors to buy. Why is this? I bought this top sometime last fall. Maybe it was winter. It's been hanging in my closet with the tags on because it was a bit snug around my mid section. To be honest, I forgot I even had it until I was trying to figure out what to wear.

Brunch and a movie
Sunnies: Ray Ban | Necklace: Stella and Dot (not really similar, but I LOVE this one and may have just ordered it) | Bag: Kate Spade (orange crossbody option here, budget option for an orange cross body here) | Gingham Top: JCrew Factory | Dress: Express | Sandals: Sam Edelman (amazing dupe here!)
The title of this post certainly is not code for anything! This outfit is what I wore to do exactly that - have brunch and see a movie. Though, admittedly, we didn't see the movie until that evening when my feet are naturally feeling swollen, so I wore these flat leopard sandals instead. But, I kept the integrity of the outfit the same: gingham and leopard with a pop of color!

Another floral portofino
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Ray Ban (option) | Earrings: Charming Charlie (c/o) | Necklace: Kendra Scott | Bag: Kate Spade (budget option) | Top: Express (limited sizes but exact here, also love this one) | Shorts: Banana Republic | Sandals: Kate Spade (budget option here) ---
I love a good floral print, and this top definitely falls in the "good" if not "great!" category! I couldn't help going a bit matchy matchy with the bag. This pink is just such a happy color! If it doesn't make you happy, then perhaps you should go get that checked out! I kid.

Crochet trim shorts + What's up Wednesday
Outfit details--- Sunnies: Gucci | Earrings: Charming Charlie (c/o) | Necklace: Kendra Scott (gifted) | Bag: Madewell (c/o Shopbop) (shop more Madewell bags HERE) | Top: Express (black and white dot option here) | Shorts: Express | Sandals: bp
These shorts and this bag have my heart right now! Two recent purchases and I just can't get enough of them! I've been wanting a new pair of soft shorts for the season, and these really are perfect. The berry color is inherently fall for me, so I thought they would be difficult to style, but with the bright dot top and nude sandals, I felt perfectly summer! And this tote! I'm kicking myself for not getting it sooner! It really is the BEST carry-all tote. I could literally hold my life in this bag! Highly recommend!

Hello Monday: Hot and cold

Outfit details--- Sunnies: TOMS | Necklace: Target (super old) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (under $100!) | Romper: Gap (I just ordered the teal version!) | Plaid top: Express (option, option) | Shoes: Converse ---
It was exactly one thousand degrees when we took these photos. Ok, maybe it was only 96 but with one thousand percent humidity! Rompers are so perfect for the summer. I'm a serious fan. They're lightweight and effortless and not super clingy or constricting when you're sweating buckets! But, unless I know I am going to be outside all day, inevitably I am cold indoors, or at least chilly and need some kind of cover up. That's where my millions of plaid shirts come in handy over the summer!
