My first pin

2011 doesn't see that long ago, but that's when I first found inspiration for this outfit. I had seen it on …love Maeganand back then, either Pinterest wasn't a thing yet, or it just wasn't a thing to me. I basically bookmarked it on my phone and decided I needed to find similar pieces to re-create it. When I first created a Pinterest account and was fishing around trying to see what it was all about - I had an "aha" moment when I realized - oh hey, I can pin the stuff I've been bookmarking!  So, I immediately pinned this look  to be recorded forever!

Sunnies: Kate Spade (option) | Necklace: Stella and Dot | Top: LOFT (option) | Watch: Kate Spade | Bangle: Kate Spade (option) | Jeans: Express | Bag: Kate Spade (option, cheaper option) | Wedges: Valentino (option, option)

Today, I figured I'd pay homage to my first pin - I actually have better pieces now than I did back in 2011 to recreate this. I opted for the necklace instead of the scarf, just because of the weather. I wish I could find my original picture of my first Pinterpretation so you can appreciate how far I've come since then! Now if only a Burberry trench would just fall into my lap

  3. Ahh a Burberry trench-coat. They are lovely. Your first pin is absolutely gorgeous how you did it. I am in love with your shoes, jeans & necklace. I love jeans with zippers on the ankles and now I want a white pair.

I am glad you are back from an awesome vacation. I will be catching up with your blog a little later tonight and send some love your way. I'd love for you to see my latest. I am feeling both edgy and sweet with my recent outfit. Thanks for linking up with Tres Chic!

  9. That's cool that you even remember your first pin! I remember some of my first, but not really my exact first. I agree with Tracy, this is such a classic look but it's fun to see how you put your own details on it, like the necklace and shoe choices.

  19. You nailed this look! Before Pinterest, I would tear pages out of magazines and try to recreate those outfits. Pinterest definitely helped me get rid of the clutter because I had all the photos in one place instead of scattered around my bedroom/closet ;-)

Also let's try to find a way to have a Burberry trench fall into our laps! I think all of us would just LOVE that haha. Great inspiration and amazing adaptation. XOXO, Elif @ theboxqueen
