Tile print scuba dress

Speaking of shopping with Jenna, I found this dress while we were shopping last weekend. We are going to a wedding in DC this coming weekend, so I was on a hunt for a dress. I tried this one on and fell in love with the fit and printed scuba material. While I didn't end up choosing it for the wedding itself, I could not pass it up for 40% off.

Today I am in Rochester, NY for an overnight trip. Yeah, that sounds cold to me, too. I was on the phone with someone from Buffalo yesterday. The conversation went something like this:

Him: Buffalo is supposed to get 1-2 feet of snow tomorrow.

Me: Oh no! I'm going to Rochester tomorrow!

Him: Rochester is only supposed to get 6-8 inches.

Me: Only!?

Bootie season

With the cooler temps this week, I'm fully taking advantage of bootie season. It's funny because the second the temperatures dipped, I started seeing knee high boots everywhere! I'm not quite at that point yet - I will have plenty of time to sport those boots later. For now, I'm pulling out all of my booties. Booties and bare legs is the easiest transitional pairing in my head.

Another pairing I love is a bunch of neutrals plus a pop of color. These booties are so much fun - I honestly didn't mean to get matchy matchy with the purple bag, but no other bag looked quite right for the look.

I don't know about you, but I'm very certain that fall is my absolute favorite season ever.

Print mix + navy heels

I got this blazer at the end of last season, but it warmed up quickly after, so I haven't gotten a chance to wear it until now! Ok, I'm lying. *I* didn't get it, I had one of my shopping spies around the country pick this up because my Limited was out in my size. Ah, it's nice to have sources, eh? I love the way it pairs with my new favorite portofino. I know I'll be wearing this top again and again.

And, how freaking awesome are these heels!? I needed a pair of navy heels (I promise, I did -  my collection lacks in this category.) The fact that they are lace-ups are an added bonus, and I always swoon over Zara's shoes. And hello, they were $36, so how do I say no to that?

Manic Monday: The infamous vest

The weather this weekend was amazing, and it's carrying over into this week! Lows in the upper 40s/low 50s with highs just barely reaching 70, if that. Amazing, I tell ya. If your Instagram feed is anything like mine, it is saturated with this vest. Honestly, my feed last year was saturated with this vest, and normally that turns me off from a piece, but I decided to be a lemming and just buy it. I couldn't stop thinking about it despite my efforts, and when it became available again, I figured there is no regret worse than the things you didn't buy, right?

I gotta admit, I love it. I actually love it more knowing that it is just a printed herringbone and not actually a herringbone fabric. It's more lightweight, and I'm not freaked out about getting it dirty. Yes, I'm sure you'll be seeing this with plaids, and leggings, and boots. For now, I decided to whip out my dot portofino and add some color with these wine booties.

My foolproof top

I received a coupon from Piperlime last week so I decided to go hunting on their website for some goodies. They paired this skirt with so many different tops - I kind of fell in love with it. When I finally found the skirt itself and saw that it was only $29.99 before my coupon, it was a no brainer.

Of course when it came down to styling it, I was at a loss. I tried a couple of my portofinos in an effort to pattern mix, but I wasn't feeling it. I didn't want to lean towards a plain white top because I felt like it was too spring/summer. I almost reached for my chambray, but felt that was too easy. That's when I finally just reached for my foolproof top.

I think I've only worn this top once on the blog here. And that's probably because I always, always, always reach for this top when I'm traveling. It's like a tee shirt, but better, and the jewel neckline is amazing because I don't have to travel with a necklace! It's perfect as a bottom layer, or simply on its own. Today's outfit was the first time I actually tucked it into a skirt, and it didn't fail me again - very happy with how this came out. And I highly suggest that you add this top to your wardrobe. Like right now, seriously. I actually didn't realize that this top was back until I was creating this post. So, I just ordered it in a second color. Figured as much as I wear this one, may as well give myself more options!

Buffalo plaid: now and later

You guys sick of seeing this tee shirt yet? Well, clearly, I'm not. I told you on Monday about how I hadn't been into an Old Navy in forever. This was another thing I picked up in addition to Monday's dress. It's making its rounds on Instagram, but I couldn't resist it. I bought a couple of other graphic tees from Old Navy last year (seen here and here) that I wear a ton, so I knew I would leave the store with a new one last weekend. And here it is!

I figured I'd camouflage the saying tee a bit with this buffalo plaid top. When I walked out of my closet room, the husband abruptly said, "WHOA! Lumberjack!" Uh, ok, I'll take that as a compliment? I love this top, and I'm glad I bought it. It's worth all the country bumpkin comments I'm sure to get! Regardless - I am looking forward to styling it again and again and again.

Wearing this button up, I did get taken back to my younger years when I wore my flannels, except back then I wore Doc Martens and not heels. I definitely prefer the heels - you guys know I love pairing casual with dressy. Edgy with girly. Basically opposites with opposites. I see this shirt being one of my go to tops to throw on in a pinch. So, I apologize in advance for how many times you will be seeing this. And that means you should just go ahead and buy it now because eventually it will grow on you, and I would hate for it to be sold out by the time you realize you've always loved it! You're welcome.

As you can see, this is another case of "Blogging made me shop."

I was sitting at my desk at work, waiting for my laptop to boot up. (I swear it takes a good 6 minutes or so.) Naturally, I passed time sifting through my Instagram feed, and that's where I saw this pic of Rachelle wearing this awesome romper. Instantly I died. And then I died even harder when I ordered it shipped for $38. Originally $175! Shut up! I love a good deal.

If you read Rachelle and my banter on her IG pic, she mentioned me wearing this with red shoes. I *almost* did, then decided to go with nude instead with minimal accessories. After all, the romper is a pretty big statement in and of itself. On my way out though, I decided to grab this bag. I died with the shoe/bag pic above. The husband is really honing his photography skills!

OK, so now onto this week's theme of keeping you guys Fall Fashion Inspired - I put together a few ways on how I plan to continue to wear this romper throughout the cooler months. If you're doing the math - $38 divided by 4 outfits equals a little over $9 per wear. Totally works for me because I know I will wear it even more than 4 times. It makes it easy since this is already a whole outfit in and of itself, I really just need to add some accessories!
