Manic Monday: Pinspired to buy

Guys. Gina *made* me buy this cami. She's schooled me on the Barcelona cami a few times now - here, here,  and here just to wet your tastebuds. I remember seeing it in the store and just felt a little meh about it. I was afraid the fit would not be flattering on me, but at the time, I was too lazy to try it on. So, I just plugged my ears and went "lalalalalalalalala" any time Gina were to post about it.

But then the lace one came out and she had to show me all the wonderful ways to wear it.

And I caved. I'm so weak. But in my defense, it's $20, so the damage to my wallet was minimal.

Sunnies: Tom Ford | Necklace: Chloe + Isabel | Wallet: Chanel | Top: Express (other good options here and here) | Bracelet: Express | Ring: BCBG | Skirt: Kate Spade (option) | Shoes: Stuart Weitzman (budget version, swoon version)

Just to further show you the versatility of this tank, I decided to try and find a different way to style this from what Gina has already proven works. I loved the idea of tucking this top into a skirt, and since this skirt already had a black waistband, it was a perfect pairing - this really reads like a dress, and I always love when that happens.

I loved the fit of this so much that I ended up ordering a few others while they were on sale --- royal purple/turquoise, snakeskin, and I about died when I saw the faux leather version. Shut up. I added that one to my cart even faster than you can say "faux leather." I feel like this is the summer alternative to a portofino in that it's so versatile and collectible. Yet, I still wear my portofino in the summer, and I know I will wear these camis in the winter, just with more layers.

In other news, this is the second time in one week that you are seeing me in slingbacks  The truth is, I only have two pairs in my whole ginormous collection because I find that they are difficult to wear - the backstrap can incessantly slip off. Lucky for me, I found the two pairs in the whole universe that work perfect on my feet. And today's heels have a little story themselves - you can read how I acquired them here.

Happy Manic Monday, everyone! Hope you have a wonderful week!

  2. Muahahaha! It won't be the last thing I make you buy. Part of it is I need you to have the same things so I can steal YOUR style ideas, much like with the Baroque Lace Tank. Hee hee. And of course, you did something totally different and unique with this top! I haven't tried it with colored bottoms but you blended it all so perfectly. Pretty! You even managed to sneak a dainty necklace in there too - I'm so copying that.

  16. I love your colorful styling of the tank and Gina's black & white looks! I was worried about the bra-situation in this tank, but now I can envision it with a black blazer for work, in which case that whole area would be covered....
