Flat Lays lately

Well, I am officially off for the long weekend, and I just felt like I needed it more than usual!! I've spent the night running around trying to get stuff in order before I leave, and it's crazy how much you have to do when you're only going to be gone for two and a half days!! I couldn't leave you empty handed though. Finishing this blog post was on my to-do list! Lately, I've been heavily leaning on my flat lays for outfit planning, both for the blog and for real life. So, I figured I would recap the blog happenings for you in the form of flat lays. Let's get started!

Jacket: Gap | Necklace: Kate Spade | Bag: Kate Spade (optionbudget option) | Top: Altar'd State (optionoption) | Skirt: Gap | Heels: Kate Spade (budget options here and here)

This is the flat lay version of my nautical inspired outfit from last week here. It's taken every bit of my strength not to wear these pumps every single day. And I'm so so happy still about this jacket. It's the perfect color and the perfect weight for spring!

Necklace: CS Gems (c/o) | Top: JCrew Factory | Tee: Express (option) | Bracelets: Paperdolls Boutique (c/o) (here and here) | Bottoms: American Eagle | Heels: Louise et Cie (other colors here)

This is the look I wore to the CS Gems trunk show I posted about here. A little behind the scenes fact - when I was taking blog photos that day, it was incredibly windy, like whoa. Somehow the back of the house acted as a good wind blocker, which is why I stood in that 5-foot area for those pics. I wouldn't normally take photos there because, well. It's basically the doggy bathroom. So.

Necklace: Charming Charlie (c/o) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (gifted) | Top: bp | Bottoms: Express | Flats: Halogen

Here are the guts of the outfit from Monday's post here. Truth be told, I have trouble styling these flats, and I have no idea why. I wear stripes all. The. Time. But for some reason, I feel like it's harder to balance the outfit with stripes on your feet! So, I've been trying to consciously come up with more ways to style them. This is a simple black and white outfit but I think the stripes on stripes make it a little more special.

Top: CS GemsBag: Kate Spade | Necklaces: CS Gems | Bottoms: American Eagle | Heels: Louise et Cie (other colors here)

And last but not least are a few things I bought last weekend. The top and necklace are both from the CS Gems trunk show. The floral pouch was on crazy sale at the Kate Spade outlet this weekend. I've been seriously itching for spring weather, and I loved the way all of these pieces meshed together!

  3. I LOVE the CS Gems top so much! From first glance I thought it was two tops (layered). All three of these outfits are something I would totally wear.

Stopping by from the link up! Hope you have a fabulous weekend and can stop by my blog as well =0)

  4. Oh, I'm glad you said that about the striped flats being hard to style! Funny, I have a striped bag and kind of feel the same way about it. Weird since I can wear striped tops with no problem? Love this round up as always and hope you have a great weekend!

  6. Hahahaha doggy bathroom to the rescue!! So cute :) truly, it wasn't at all visible, the fact that that's where the pooch takes the shower. I do have to confess a love for those floral pumps AND the wristlet. Anything so graphically floral like that just grabs my heart and doesn't let go xoxo
