Random roundup + recent purchases

Random roundup of outfits blog post

Here we are again! Another Friday, another random roundup. I hope you guys are enjoying your April so far! This time next week, I will be in Dallas for the rewardStyle conference which used to seem like it was so far away but poof! Now it's here and I'm all of a sudden panic shopping because I don't know what to pack. Ha! More on that next week. In the meantime, here are some outfit selfies lately!

Blush and grey outfit, grey striped top and blush knit skirt
Necklace: Kendra Scott "Kathy" | Top: Gap | Skirt: Express (other colors here) (option) | Shoes: Valentino

The temps have still been hovering in the 50s and 60s here, but that's not stopping me from whipping out my skirts and going bare legged. Skirts give me life and I've been trying to re-build my collection this season because it's an area of my wardrobe that needs a boost! You can see this skirt also in last week's flat lay post here as well as this blog outfit here!

Denim jacket, white lace top, olive skinnies, cognac peep toe booties
Jacket: Two by Vince CamutoNecklace: Bauble Bar | Top: Express | Bottoms: American Eagle (option) | Shoes: Madewell

This outfit was loosely inspired by Rachelle's outfit here. It was too chilly this day for a lace dress, so I opted for my white lace tank instead and threw a denim jacket over it. This was also the first time I got to wear my cognac peep toes this year and I was happy to dust them off. They're a great transitional shoe!

Floral sweater, dark washed skinnies, cognac booties
Necklace: Kendra Scott "Aiden"Sweater: JCrewBottoms: American EagleBooties: Halogen

This is the same sweater I was wearing in this outfit post here. I wore this for a work trip to Chicago, and I almost wore the white skinnies just like I did in my blog post, but travel can get dirty, so I thought I was safer in dark washed denim. I left for the airport at 5am and I didn't lay down and go to sleep until about 2am that morning. That's pretty typical for my work trips, especially when I'm traveling with coworkers. There's work then socializing which make for very long days, and that means I need easy outfits like this that I don't have to worry about looking like a wrinkled mess at the end of the day!

Chambray over red fitted tank tucked into Express ruched striped skirt
Chambray: Caslon (option) | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Cami" (similar) | Tank: Grace and Lace | Skirt: Express | Shoes: BCBGeneration (similar)

And last, but not least is one of my favorite skirts. Baseball started last week (!!!!!) so I had to at least show my team spirit at work, even if it was in a subtle way like this. And if you haven't snagged this skirt yet, here are 4 other ways I've styled it in case you need some convincing!

How to wear a striped skirt

Also! Before I go, Express is having a 40% off sale, and I just so happened to receive a package full of recent Express purchases yesterday! If you're quick, you can catch the try-on videos on Snapchat (carylee07), but otherwise, below are some screenshots and links to what I bought (and highly recommend!) I also included a couple of new Bailey 44 dresses that are coming with me to the rewardStyle conference next weekend (I told you I was panic shopping!)

Happy shopping! Have a great (hopefully long) holiday weekend!

  2. Love the skirt! Do you mind sharing what size you bought? My measurements are similar to yours and I tend to be in between sizes at Express.
