What's up Wednesday

It's the last Wednesday of the month which means it's time to link up with MelShay, and Sheaffer for What's up Wednesday. I know I say this EVERY month, but I can't believe it's the last Wednesday of the month *again.* This last month I have been to the west coast 3 times. Travel really accelerates time which already is moving at such a fast rate! Anyway, let's just go ahead and get started!!

Outfit details--- Sunnies: Ray Ban | Top: Fabletics (similar) | Bracelets: Charmed Stacks (option) | Bottoms: Zella "Cece" leggings (limited sizes) (options here, here, here) | Shoes: Adidas "Superstar" ---

What I'm reminiscing about:
So much, to be honest! I've been living out of a suitcase more than I've been home this month. The biggest trip was our vacation in southern California. You can read all about our Warner Bros Studio tour in this post here, my dad's 70th birthday party here, and the balance of the week in this post here. We had a couple of photographers take and share photos with us that I didn't have when I originally wrote those recap posts, so I will go ahead and share a couple here with you now.

With my parents, brother, sister, and nephew

With my immediate family and some close friends/family

With the husband's family

What I've been up to:
This is pretty similar to the "what I'm reminiscing about" question in that I've been traveling like a crazy person. But I guess I can explain why I've had to travel. We have had a project that started about a year ago - it's another new design and it's finally at the point of completion, so we've had to fly out to the site a few times to help get it all set up and styled. I'm likely going to be back in San Diego at least 1-2 more times over the next month.

In terms of non-work life, much of the same. Pilates and blogging in my spare time, and since I haven't had much spare time, I haven't had much time for either. I'm so glad I was able to take classes while I was in California that week for vacation because I was able to work out zero times last week in San Diego. I have to get back on the horse this week because I'm feeling it!

What I'm dreading:
Work work work work work. When you're on the road for work, there is a lot of blocking and tackling you have to do - getting the necessities done, but leaving the rest for when you're back in the office. I have felt SO FREAKING behind. I really should be working at night to catch up, but let's be real, I don't have time after teaching and taking Pilates. Not going to lie, I'm on the struggle bus at the moment! Just a wee bit stressed!!!

What I'm listening to:
I always seem to have a new song every month that I've been overly obsessed with. I have a handful that are random to group together, but I'll go ahead and list them anyway. The first is Body Like a Back Road by Sam Hunt. The second is Humble by Kendrick Lamar. We heard that incessantly in California and it gets me all sorts of pumped up! And Bad Liar by Selena Gomes. Except I just watched the video for that song and now I'm totally confused!

What I'm watching:
The husband and I go to the movies more than I think most people do. At least that's how I perceive it. Everyone I talk to never seems to go to the theaters anymore, but it's still one of our favorite things to do. The last couple of weeks he was traveling and then I was traveling, so we really didn't see each other for two weeks. So how do we catch up? Sit next to each other not talking at a movie of course! #ironic We went to see Spider-Man Homecoming. Let's be real. I normally go to the movies only for the popcorn. If I can see a good movie, that's an added bonus! I did enjoy the movie though. I've liked all of the latest Avenger-related movies we've seen.

What I'm loving:
My lashes!!!! I had a slight snafu with my calendar a couple of weeks ago. Even though I entered every single lash appointment through the end of August into my phone, all of the appointments disappeared! So I ended up scheduling myself to teach two group Pilates classes at the studio the same night as one of my lash appointments. My lash girl is always crazy booked up which is why I have them booked months in advance, and she was unable to reschedule me. I ended up going 6 weeks between appointments which meant ALL of my extensions were gone. I was completely naked for the first time in almost 3 years. Quite a shock. I felt naked and didn't know what to do with myself. I was wearing lash strips for a couple of weeks which was completely horrible. HORRIBLE. I cannot tell you how much lashes do for my overall look and self-confidence. I realize how superficial that sounds, but it's totally the truth. I cannot live without them. Since I was completely bald, she took a before and after pic of me. The difference is crazy. (Ignore my eye redness. Imagine sleeping in contacts for an hour and a half - my eyes get red.)

What I'm wearing:
Ok! This one is easy, let's talk about my outfit. It's nothing special, but that's how I've been feeling lately. I have been too busy to shop and so tired to put forth more effort. I mentioned on Monday that I've been reaching for leggings so much the last few days thanks to the unbearable heat and humidity. I scored these leggings during my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale shopping trip, and I really love them! I've been wanting a pair of slashed leggings, and these are perfect, especially since I already know Zella leggings fit me great. I would totally wear them for non-workouts just like I did this day when we went to the movies and just had a super casual Saturday together.

What I'm doing this weekend:
Nothing!!! I know I have a hair appointment Saturday, which means it's been 12 weeks since my last appointment and it doesn't feel like it's been that long at all!! We have a Cardinals game this Sunday, too, and I'm really hoping the heat lets up a bit by then because while I love the Cardinals, sweating profusely in the sun for 4 hours is pretty painful!

What I'm looking forward to next month:
August is my birthday month and I know the husband has a couple of things up his sleeve, so naturally, I'm a bit excited for that. I do need to go home to San Antonio at some point too because I STILL have not met my new nephew and that makes me feel like a horrible auntie!

What else is new:
We decided to go back to Orlando the last week of November. His cousin and her hubby are going with their kids and we need to make use of our timeshare points anyway, so we decided to tag along! There will be some Disney actives during that trip, so I'm excited about that, but it's nice to have a trip out there in the future even if it's not the exotic beach vacation I have been holding out for! I really can't complain. Vacation is vacation!

______________

That sums up July! I feel like my life is much of the same and not all that exciting, but I still like to share little recaps like this with you all! Hope you have a good hump day!

  3. Funny, I feel the same way about these recaps in a sense (my life is mostly the same month to month), but I still like reading yours because your "same" is so different from mine! Hope you get a chance to NOT travel and catch up on life a bit pretty soon!
