What's up Wednesday

It's the last Wednesday of the month which means it's time to link up with MelShay, and Sheaffer for What's up Wednesday. This is always a good opportunity for me to share some selfies lately in addition to my life randoms, so let's get started!

What we're eating this week:
We have been doing our meal delivery service since February of 2016 and it has been life changing. We pick (3) dinners perfectly portioned for 2-people, and she delivers them, fully-cooked in our cooler every Tuesday morning. A year and a half later and we are still pleased as punch with the food offerings! It's so super convenient, especially since my nights are typically made up of teaching or taking Pilates, so it's very easy for the husband to throw dinner in the oven and have it ready for us to eat when I get home around 8:30pm. I do like cooking, but I don't particularly like meal planning or grocery shopping. Not to mention my free time is non-existent so this was an easy chore to outsource to someone else. And it's only $60.75 per week. A little over $20 per meal for 2 people. I'm pretty sure yesterday we just spent $14 at Taco Bell, so I would consider this a very good deal. If you are interested and are local to the St. Louis metro east area, you can see more info here.

What I'm reminiscing about:
Last week, the Pilates Barre Studio celebrated its 4-year anniversary! 4 years! And I've been going to the studio almost that long myself - I started in January of 2014! I never would have imagined that my attendance would eventually lead to me pursuing certification and teaching at the studio myself! It really is so great to be surrounded by these women and our amazing clients. Below are a couple of photos with me and the other instructors.

What I'm loving:
For my birthday, Jenna gave me this Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in Petal and I have been loving it! Typically, any time a lip product advertises itself to be a color plus a moisturizer, I still have to apply a layer of Carmex over it, even if it's a few minutes later. But this has great staying power and it works well to keep my lips feeling hydrated. And this is a great neutral. All my lippies tend to be bold, so it's nice to have a neutral to fall back on.

What I'm been up to:
Well, if you missed my epic birthday post, you can get yourself caught up here. Otherwise, August was a slow month for travel, so that allowed me to get caught up on life a bit, which was nice. I really don't feel like I'm "up to" much these days outside of work, blogging, and Pilates. It's all the same old stuff unless I'm traveling! I feel so anti-climactic saying that!

What I'm excited about:
There are a couple of fun things happening in September! First, I get to meet my nephew this weekend. Second, we have tickets to see Ed Sheeren on the 17th!! I saw him open for Taylor Swift a few years ago (super awkward old school post), so I'm excited to see him headline! And third, hopefully, the new iPhone will get released as anticipated so I can get a new freaking phone!!! The one I've been using in the interim is only 16GB (as compared to my previous one at 128GB), so it's been a challenge managing the storage. It's pretty stripped of apps, I only downloaded apps I use on a daily basis, but I have to constantly delete photos and text messages just to have enough memory to operate. Total first world problem, but the struggle is real y'all.

What I'm working on:
This month I've really been trying to get back on track with my certification and just fitness in general. I started noticing my clothes fitting me a little snug again so I forced myself to get on the scale as a double check. I truly don't weigh myself otherwise. Sure enough, I've gained some weight back and I am not surprised. When I eat what I want, drink a lot of bourbon, but only workout 1-2 times per week with no cardio, what do I expect will happen? So I need to fix this. Not only for my own vain reasons but because I do need to finish my program. I will share more about fitness related stuff on Friday!

What I'm reading:
I am actually reading a book at the moment for the first time in forever. I started bringing my iPad with me again when I travel so I continued reading a book I started in April 2016! Ha! It's called Too Good to Be True. It's a romantic comedy by Kristan Higgins. I got into a stint of reading a ton of her books because they're pretty light and airy and mindless. I'm not sure if I like this one yet. It's slower than her other books, but I'm still enjoying it regardless.

What I'm listening to:
I have listed to Look What You Made Me Do about 2387866 times. Yes, I'm that person. I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but after the second time, I've decided I like it. It's definitely a bit of a departure from Shake it Off, but it gets me moving and singing, so that's all that really matters to me! Non-Taylor related, I've also been loving Strip That Down and Slow Hands.

What I'm wearing:
I've been wearing a lot of old favorites lately. All of my new purchases have been pretty fall-ish, and while the temps are starting to dip, I'm not quite ready to give up my short-sleeved or sleeveless tops. I've also decided I seriously need to get rid of all of my skirts and start over. I could count on one hand how many of my skirts currently fit me. The majority of them were too big (even with the big of weight gain), so I've donated a ton which leaves a big hole to fill in my closet!!

What I'm doing this weekend:
We leave for San Antonio on Friday and I could not be more excited! Not only will I get to meet my new nephew, but my sister and Jonathan are flying in as well so I actually get to se both nephews at the same time! I'm so glad that the schedules worked out because it's been a struggle trying to decide what photo to use as my wallpaper on my phone and not wanting to play favorites! Ha!

What else is new:
Work has been a little new, I guess you can say. There were some changes in our department with one VP leaving and a new one stepping in, not really to feel the old role completely, but to step into a newly-created role taking on some of the old role's responsibilities. I know that sounds cryptic without explaining the story in detail. There are a few other changes that were made at work that has everyone on edge. It's all been positive so far, but it's always difficult when you don't have visibility to the entire picture. You make your own assumptions and end up worrying as a result! Anyway, all is well, but it was a rough couple of weeks at the office.

_______________

Okidoke, that is officially it for August. I really do feel like I share the same updates over and over again, but I always get positive feedback from my readers that you like the info regardless! Hope today's post was no exception! Have a good humpday and I will see you back here on Friday!
