What's up Wednesday

It's the last Wednesday of the month which means it's time to link up with MelShay, and Sheaffer for What's up Wednesday. I'm not sure where September went, but I'm most certain that I spent the majority of it without a voice! Ah well. I haven't done a random roundup post for you in awhile, so I thought I would interject some latest outfit selfies as I share my random life updates with you! Let's get started!

(See below for outfit details)

What we're eating this week:
I always feel dumb answering this question because, well... I don't cook and I feel like a heathen actually typing those words into a blog post, but it's true. It's not that I don't like to cook, because I love it. I just hate the meal planning and the grocery shopping. Hate is a strong word, but let's just say that it's time consuming and since I don't enjoy doing it, the task gets pretty low on my priority list. Back in the day I used to do Hello Fresh, but it ended quite badly - I broke up with them and to say I was unhappy would be an understatement. If you want to read why, you can dig up this post here (read the update at the end). We now do a local meal delivery service, and the food comes delivered, fully cooked in our cooler once a week. Since I don't get home until after 8:30pm most weeknights, the convenience of the husband having the dinner warmed up for me by the time I get home is invaluable. I realize we all prioritize our time differently, but I still feel like I am failing at life just a little bit because I outsource this pretty simple task.

Anyhoo, since I don't have any new and exciting recipes to share with you, I thought I would share a restaurant that we frequently go to at lunch. It's called MOD. I used to do a simple salad with a mini sized create-your-own pizza, but the last couple of visits, I've been building my own salad. I have decided that Italian style salads are my most favorite! Mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, mozzarella, roasted red peppers... all so good! Their pizzas really are great, too.

What I'm reminiscing about:
I think my most favorite thing about Facebook (and maybe the only thing I like about Facebook.....) is the "on this day" feature that shows you everything you posted on this particular day from previous years. The memories that are popping up now are all related to the nephew and the first time I met him 3 years ago! I also met someone else pretty significant in my life this time 3 years ago - you can see who in this post here!

What I'm loving:
Amazon Beauty sent me this Vichy Idealia Radiance Boosting Serum along with this Vichy Idealia Energizing Face Cream and I am loving both! I was getting a little overwhelmed with the free samples and beauty products I was receiving (#fashionbloggerproblems) so I recently put together a care package for the husband's cousin of all my unopened stuff!  She was excited to try new things and I was excited to not feel wasteful! These two products, however, stayed with me! It was timely because I just finished my previous moisturizer, so I'm not having to neglect any of my current products to try these. The serum works great under my moisturizer or just on its own directly under my foundation. The face cream is so lightweight but super moisturizing. And both smell AMAZING. I am obsessed with how they smell. I wish it came in a full body lotion....

What I'm been up to:
I seriously have been working all month to stay healthy! I caught something while traveling for Labor Day weekend and I am either still fighting residual symptoms from then or allergies are just killing me. Either way, I've been pushing through because I can't afford to be sick at the moment. I'm so so so close to finishing my Pilates certification. All my finals are scheduled so now it's just a matter getting myself in my best shape from both the teacher side and the fitness side. As far as the blog - I was really excited about my collaborations this month with Grace and Lace, Banana Republic, SUGARFIX, and Glik's! That's a pretty jam-packed September!

What I'm dreading:
There is a really big software update coming at work that will impact the entire department, and I can't say I'm excited about it because I will be heavily involved and I know it's going to be a lot of work and stress. And it's not even really related to my actual job description, so how I'm going to juggle the software responsibilities with my actual real job responsibilities will be interesting. I can't say I'm "dreading" it per se, but I also cannot say that I am jumping for joy about it either....

After teaching my first mat class at the office!

What I'm working on:
Combining the office life with my Pilates life, I'm working on organizing a 6-week Pilates mat class I will teach at work. We celebrated "wellness week" a couple weeks ago and as part of that, I offered a free Pilates mat class. The lovely peeps above took that class and although I was super nervous before the class started, once I started talking through the first exercises, it's like a switch flipped and I turned into teacher mode and was no longer freaking out. It was fun and I hope to raise some interest and awareness with the 6-week series!

As far as the blog - I was asked to speak to a local moms group about fashion advice! When they first asked me, I will admit I wanted to say no. I mean, what the heck could I possibly talk about for a half hour?! But, I figured if anything, it would be good for my own personal development to get over my qualms and just do it. I was telling a friend about this and she told me that she always tries to say yes to opportunities like this because you never know who will hear it, who you will meet, and what it could lead to! That was a good perspective and made me feel even better about saying yes. The good thing is, they will be sending me questions to answer ahead of time, so that helps me put together content. The event is tomorrow night, so please send me good speaking vibes!!!!

What I'm excited about:
I'm excited about the iPhone X, I'm not even going to lie. Ever since I lost my phone in July, I  have felt so incomplete! Seems silly to say, but a 16GB compared to a 128GB phone is a HUGE difference! I didn't even load ALL the apps on my phone, it was just the ones I used most frequently. And even with that, plus only having 50 photos on the phone, and 2-3 CDs worth of music, I had to constantly delete photos and texts as they happened because of storage issues.

Once they announced the iPhone 8 release for the end of September but the X not coming out until November, the husband (without me asking) went on eBay and found me a 128GB 6S to use until November. AHHHH! I can breathe again! I can film Pilates again! I can keep my outfit selfies again! Such a trivial thing to be happy about but for better or for worse, my life is on my phone! The thing I most excited about for the X is the camera and all its capabilities! I realize the phone is expensive, but it's a phone, an alarm clock, a GPS, a planner, a kindle, a notepad, a calculator, a mirror, a computer, a flashlight, an MP3 player, and a camera all in one. I literally use it for everything and I'm excited to have the latest and greatest again! #notsponsored #idontworkforapple

What I'm watching:
Is anyone else excited for Will and Grace to come back?! I watched it regularly, though not as incessantly as I did Friends back in the day. Still, I'm excited. Just as excited as I was when Fuller House was released! I love the nostalgia and familiarity that comes with these older shows!

What I'm listening to:
So, I mentioned I only have a handful of songs on my iPhone. I could say that's the reason why I've only been listening to two songs on the repeat, but it's really not the case. I've been listening to Are You Ready and Look What You Made Me Do on repeat, on the daily. I have the musical taste of a 14 year old girl and I'm not even sad about it.

What I'm wearing:
All of my outfits over the last week or so are sprinkled in this post. It has been ungodly hot in these parts. I'm talking 90s with ridiculous humidity. I'm not ready to full on get back into my summer wardrobe, but it's definitely too early to jump head first into fall. It's a fine balance between feeling comfy with the temps but not looking like you just stepped off the beach. In almost-October.

What I'm doing this weekend:
We have another car show this weekend that the husband and I will be working. I'll be the official record-keeper thanks to my spreadsheet skills. And then we will have our last regular season baseball game!!! How is baseball season already over?! Outside of that, it should be pretty low key, which is great because next week I will be in Boulder for a day doing my practice practical and I could use some down time to mentally prepare!!!

What I'm looking forward to next month:
So many good things happen in October. The in-laws have their annual bonfire. Hopefully the temps will cool down for good. I have my practice practical in Boulder on the 4th so that's one step closer to being done once that is complete.

The nephew

And there really was no specific category to put this photo, so I figured it was a good way to end this post! How friggin adorable is he? You know his Cardinals-obsessed auntie had to get him a onesie! His smile makes me so happy! Such a happy baby!

And with that, I will let you guys go! Have a great rest of your week!!!
