Icy Cool

Sunnies: Tom Ford (73% off!) | Blazer: Express (option) | Top: Frenchi (option) | Necklace: Express (option) | Skinnies: American Eagle (option, option) | Bracelet: Forever 21 (option) | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (option, option) | Heels: Christian Louboutin

This outfit came up in one of my StyleUp emails last week, and I felt Pinspired to re-create it. What an awesome combination - ivory, beige, and mint. It's so icy cool, I can't hardly stand it!

Talk about shopping my closet! This outfit feels 100% brand new to me, yet everything I'm wearing was pre-existing. I mentioned on Monday that I'd been feeling pretty uninspired this week in terms of my outfit planning, but this is the one exception. You can probably expect to see this one come back to life as a blog favorite. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

    1. It's the best! I haven't been in the mood to shop for brand new spring things yet, so it's nice to find things in my closet to tide me over until the weather actually starts cooperating for more than a couple days!

  13. I love all the light colors going on here! The mint skinnies are just gorgeous, especially paired with your pale pink top and beige blazer. I love it!

I have a question about your shoes. Are Christian Louboutin's more comfortable than regular heels or are they just made better? I've never even tried on a pair but I know they are highly coveted.

    1. This is a great question! I will answer this with some of the same information I gave someone else asking a similar question - what makes them so special, right?

I will be honest and say they are not the most comfy designer shoes I own, my YSLs are. But the Loubies are just your more recognizably known shoe that even non-shoe officionados are familiar with so they get the most air time. That said, I don't think you can be a shoe fanatic without ultimately owning a pair or 6. Haha

If you are considering them, you should try on several styles in the store and walk around in them. These are not the kind of shoes you can buy online and expect them to fit magically on your feet. I wear a size 6/36 99.999% of the time with my shoes, but with Loubies I am anywhere from 36-37.5 and all half sizes in between!

And don't just try on the Louboutins! Try all of the brands on! You'll start to see which are most comfy and which are better for your feet. The YSL Tribute sandals and Tribtoo pumps are my favorites. The Manolo BB pumps are also super comfy and beautiful. And my first pair of designer shoes I bought ever were Giuseppe Zanotti, which as I'm thinking of them, I need to wear more. They were so right-out-of-the-box comfy, I just love them. There are so many good ones out there.

Regardless of brand or whatnot, as long as you pick a pair that are more classic and less trendy, they'll be in your wardrobe forever which will bring the price per wear down.

So, I don't know if that answers your question. For me, there is certainly a sense of pride in owning a pair - not so much that I want to brag about them, I actually prefer if people do NOT know how much they cost because they're like my own little secret. *I* paid for them with my own money and they're beautiful to look at.

Last year I put together a post about Louboutins answering commonly asked questions - you can read that here:
