The scuba mini

Well, you guys know I am super obsessed with my scuba leggings, so I could not resist getting the scuba mini. I decided to go a little rock-star-groupie with this outfit and pair it with a basic chambray, edgy accessories and this fringe bag. I finished the look with soft waves and a neutral lip for that I-woke-up-like-this kind of look.

Sunnies: Tom Ford (similar) | Necklace: Express (option) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (option) | Top: JCrew Factory | Bracelet: Forever 21 (option) | Skirt: Express | Booties: Christian Louboutin (option, optionbudget option)

You ever have those moments in life when you feel like you are losing your mind? I don't know if it's just the craziness of my October schedule or what, but this weekend, I sat down to do bills. Admittedly, I was a bit late. We got paid last Tuesday, so I really should have been paying them Tuesday evening verses Sunday afternoon. I opened up my trusty spreadsheet and that's when I realized I hadn't paid bills since September 16th. SAY WHAT?

Apparently we got paid on the 30th, not on the 7th as I had been thinking. So a handful of my bills ended up being two weeks late vs just a few days late. Luckily, the way the pay cycle works, there are a slew of bills I pay well in advance of the due dates, so in reality, there were only 4-5 bills that I was truly late on, BUT STILL! I'm honestly surprised the crazy debt collectors weren't calling me Derek Smeath style! << The link is for those of you who didn't catch that reference. :) Sadly I even have pay day set up on my calendar, so I really don't know how I missed it. Anyway, someone please tell me you can relate!

  2. Boo, I didn't catch your reference! I have read that book but it was ages ago. I need to see the movie. I'm putting it on my watch list for next time the Mr is out of town since I don't think he'll enjoy it! I haven't had the late-bills thing happen, but other paper work deadlines (most recently school registration) have just crept up on me and completely escaped me. It always makes me feel like I'm losing my mind when I miss deadlines. OH- your outfit! Love the chambray and black and obviously love that necklace with the chambray! The scuba skirt is not nearly as risque looking as I thought it might be the way it fits you and the way you've styled. it. Nicely done!

    1. Oh I love the movie! Haha! You should watch it. It's silly but serious and just all around fun. One scene in particular is my fave but watch it first and then we shall discuss!

And you're right about the skirt. Not as scandalous as you would think and actually longer than I would picture a mini skirt to be. It fits more snug than the leggings but me still likey.

  4. At least you caught your bills relatively quickly! When the Target hack happened my bank gave me a new debit card just as a precaution and it was set up for direct pay for so. many. things. I never once thought about needing to change it and two months went by before any company said anything!

    1. Oh my goodness! What a mess!
Auto-payments are the worst! They are good in my situation when I forget but not good when you don't know about it!

  9. You are not alone, 2 months ago I completely spaced out and forgot to pay my mortgage, I almost had a heart attack, thank God I noticed before the "grace" period was up, but I wanted to die, specially since I noticed it on a Saturday night while out with some friends, so trying to pay it on my phone was quite a task. After that I turned to automatic payments, it's too much of a hassle sometimes.

    PS love that skirt

    1. Auto payments are so hard for me bc we get paid every other week vs the 1st and 15th. So sometimes it could land that all cars and mortgages are due with the same check! Eeee. Because of this, I have to plan bills out for 2-3 pay cycles so that I'm paying things earlier if all my big bills land in the same pay period. I like the flexibility of moving stuff around like that. It would be wonderful if I knew exactly what bills were due for every single check without thought!! Or if I had a wife to pay them for me! :)

  10. I feel like I'm losing my mind all the time. Probably from work, church and school. I don't have time for anything. Love the outfit specifically the booties. Really cute!
