What I wore Wednesday

This will be the last Random Roundup post for the year! Crazy, huh? I do have a few more recap posts for you from now until the end of December, but in terms of real time outfits, this will be the last. It's seriously hard to believe! I'm going to start a little backwards here and share the outfit I wore for one of our family Christmas celebrations this weekend.

ASTR twist back sweater

Sweater: ASTR | Bag: Kate Spade (gifted) (optionoptioncheapest option) | Jeans: American Eagle "Jegging Crop" in "Indigo Fray" (similar) | Heels: Kate Spade "Licorice" (option)

Above is the exact same outfit I wore in last Monday's post here, just with regular colored denim instead of my white skinnies because, well, to be frank, white skinnies are pretty hard to flat lay on a white background, so. I wanted to wear the sweater for a holiday party, but since we were with family, I wanted to be a little more covered, especially since kids are involved who sometimes like to ride around on your back or have you crawl around with them on the floor!

I originally turned the sweater around and tried to wear the knot facing forward instead of backwards with the cami facing the other direction as well. It was not flattering on my belly, so I wore it this way instead. It's a great option to wear it layered like this when you want to show off the back detail, but not necessarily your bare back! I wore the same glitter heels pictured above in the flat lay to finish off the look.

Dress: Bailey 44 (current colors here) | Heels: SJP "Fawn" (in silver hereoption, option)

Last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, we had vendors in the office for a summit. That meant all day long meetings and even longer nights. I picked this dress for Monday because it is just as comfortable as wearing a tee shirt, but it obviously looks a bit dressier than that! I knew I would be comfy in it all day and it would just as fresh at 10pm as it did at 8am. The weather was mild at the start of the week, so I had no problem with the temps and going with bare legs. I seriously cannot speak more highly of this dress. It's so figure flattering without being a bit constraining. SO worth the splurge.

Sweater: Banana Republic | Necklace: Kendra Scott "Rayne" (current colors here) | Bottoms: American Eagle | Booties: Freebird "Harlo"

We went 9-5pm on Monday with dinner from 6:30pm to about 10pm. We went a couple doors down for after-dinner cocktails and I didn't get home until almost midnight. Had to be at the summit Tuesday morning by 7:30am, which meant waking up by 5:30am!! Needless to say, dressing needed to be easy! I again was looking for something I knew wouldn't be a wrinkled mess by the end of the day. The ponte knit pants are perfect for that, and the simple pullover sweater was an easy pick. I chose this necklace for a pop of color (and perhaps a splash of festiveness) and my new favorite booties. Dirty hair meant my fake-fancy side do, which again, I knew would still look great 18 hours later. Meetings went until 5pm, then happy hour until 7:30pm. Dinner ran late - about 9pm to 11pm and then a handful of us decided to rally for some after-dinner cocktails. I didn't get home until 2:30am. As if I WERE IN COLLEGE!!! It's great to hang out with our vendors though so I really can't complain. They are good company and I had a lot of fun. Perhaps too much fun.

Sweater: DVF | Jeans: American Eagle (option) | Heels: Sam Edelman

I'm not even going to bother showing you Wednesday's outfit because, well, a) I had absolutely no strength to take a selfie that morning, and b) it was just a flannel and leggings because I couldn't function in anything else. So, we shall just skip to Thursday! Thursday was actually my Friday since we took Friday off to celebrate Christmas with his immediate family, and I wanted to go ahead and look festive with my sequins. This sweater is so old but such a foolproof favorite of mine. You can see it in previous posts here and here and here and here. Wow! That's a lot of blog airtime for one piece. Funny how I have a closet overflowing with clothes, but there are always some favorites I reach for time and time again.

Sweater: CS Gems | Leggings: Spanx Faux Leather Moto leggings | Booties: Freebird "Harlo"

Friday, we spent all day in Christmas pajamas that his mom bought the family to wear. I legit wore them all day and didn't even bother changing out of them when I went to sleep that night. The next morning, we did our Amighetti's sandwich tradition (which I talk more about in this old post here.) I went ahead and curled my hair and threw on a real outfit for that part of the day since I didn't bother getting ready the prior day. I ate my weight in food thanks to blood mary's, cheese, chips, pasta salad, and of course my ginormous sandwich, so these leggings had to come off immediately. We rested for a few hours in the afternoon before heading back to his parents house to celebrate Christmas with the extended family - and that brings us full circle to the grey twist-back sweater that started this post!

I thought I would go ahead and post some photos from the weekend since I've been talking about it! The husband's brother and his fiance were in town this weekend which is why our Christmas schedule was pushed up a bit. It was a family get-together marathon, but always a lot of fun. Lucky to have good in-laws!
