The summer scarf tying method

Step 1: Lay the scarf over your shoulders, centered on your neck.
Step 2: Single knot it at the length you want it to hit at your bust.
Step 3: Take each loose end and wrap the scarf on itself, upwards towards your neck.
Step 4: Knot each end to keep them in place.

Soft shorts and pretty gems

This is the last installment of my collaboration with TCL Boutique and CS Gems! And yes, I saved the best for last, as I am beyond obsessed with these adorable shorts. That's not to say the other two aren't as fun - you can catch yourself up here and here. I wasn't sure how I felt about the soft short trend, but I immediately fell in love with these because of the color, the pattern, and the cute lace trim. I ended up wearing my own top with it since it was a perfect match, and I immediately wanted to see how it would look with one of my many chambrays. I styled it this way on Instagram:

I chose this necklace (exact here) because the tribal inspired design balanced the look and complemented the boldness of the shorts quite nicely. I really could have gone with either silver or gold jewelry with this, and since I couldn't quite decide, I grabbed this cameo ring (exact herefor good measure. It's a locket also, and anything with a dual purpose makes me swoon. Plus, there's just something about the cameo design that automatically makes me love it. It's adjustable also, which is an added bonus because rings are always too big for me!

Sunnies: Tom Ford | Necklace: CS Gems (exact here) Use code CARYLEE15 for 15% off! | Bag: borrowed from Jenna | Top: Frenchi (option, option, short sleeved option here) | Bracelet: Nadri (option) | Ring: CS Gems (exact here) | Shorts: TCL Boutique | Sandals: American Eagle | Polish: Essie "Butler Please"

It's so fun to have lots of eyes on you as you're taking photos. I love the husband as my photographer, and am super grateful, but I know he's really just going through the motions and doesn't always catch if my hair is out of place or my muffin top is showing! This picture is of Carrie (the "C" in CS Gems) and Jenna making some adjustments as I casually hold onto my sunflower for dear life.

If you're more of a golden girl vs. silver, this short pendant necklace is gorgeous - exact here. And so affordable! I think the gals at TCL Boutique were feeling like Carrie and Stacy are practically giving their pieces away based on how beautiful but low priced they are! It's truly hard for me not to buy every single piece! Be sure to stop by the CS Gems blog today as they're doing a little Q&A with yours truly! While you're there, why not do a bit of shopping? Use code CARYLEE15 for 15% off!

The Clothes Line Boutique

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was jam packed, but a whole lotta fun! Today will be one of three posts recapping the styling event in which I participated on Saturday with Sincerely Jenna Marie and hosted by CS Gems and The Clothes Line Boutique!

You guys already know Jenna and CS Gems  and if you don't, you should visit their sites immediately! The Clothes Line Boutique was new to me, but they had me at hello. They're located in Waterloo, IL, which is a suburb located in the southern part of the St. Louis metro area. Their story is pretty similar to CS Gems - the shop was started on Facebook by two friends, Brooke and Missy, not realizing it would ever have such a successful following. They carry thoughtful trends you would expect from a boutique, but at truly affordable prices.

Jenna and I were tasked with finding three different outfits to style with CS Gems jewelry. The real challenge was narrowing it down to *only* three outfits and not bringing the whole store home with me!

Sunnies: Vince Camuto | Earrings: Stella and DotNecklaces: CS Gems (exact here and here) Use code CARYLEE15 for 15% off! | Top: TCL Boutique | Bracelet: CS Gems | Bottoms: Kut from the Kloth (via TCL Boutique) (option)

Nothing says "spring" to me more than a crisp white top, and I loved all of the details and delicate pleats of this top. Needless to say, this is one of the pieces that physically came home with me because I couldn't live without it. And it makes for such an easy outfit with some distressed denim, blush heels, and a bright clutch.

Bag: Michael Kors (option) | Polish: Essie "Butler Please" | Ring: CS Gems (exact here)

Necklace: CS Gems (sold out)

I also got to wear this beautiful statement necklace, which seriously goes perfectly with the top! Unfortunately, it sold that night after the styling event, so it's no longer available, but the photo was too good not to share with you. The great thing about CS Gems is the ability to own a one-of-a-kind piece. But if you see something you love, you really should snag it immediately because once it's gone, it's gone! And that necklace proves my point!

with Jenna

Yes, we're fashion bloggers. Yes, we have taken 238786348678634 outfit photos, but no, we never get comfortable in front of the camera. While I do adore this picture of the two of us….

…this picture is a more accurate depiction of how we are feeling on the inside! It was really fun to experience this event with a friend, and a friend who shares similar tastes at that! We each brought our own shoes, bags, and bottoms, and somehow we still ended up borrowing pieces from each other for a couple outfits. Imagine if we were neighbors! Oh the possibilities!

Loved being able to collaborate with CS Gems again, and to meet Brooke and Missy from The Clothes Line Boutique!! I'll have outfit number two ready for you later this week, with the third following next week!

While we were given a discount to shop at the boutique along with these photos in exchange for the blog posts, all views expressed are my own!
