Yay for being back to normal in terms of health and schedule! Although I say this and I somehow have three work trips from now until the end of the month, so perhaps I should just enjoy this while it lasts! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was quite great, actually. I like to call Saturday the husband's and my "day of fun!" (Friends reference here.)

Random roundup
I've seriously been trying to finish this post for two weeks now. But with the Express sale and then the Nordstrom anniversary sale, I've gotten a bit distracted and wanted to share the deals with you! If you read on Friday, I have an appointment tomorrow to shop the Anniversary Sale through early access, and my plan is to summarize everything for you for Friday's post. That said, I didn't want to deprive you of your random roundup for a third week because these posts seem to be a fan favorite! So, let's just call this What I Wore Wednesday instead!
Jacket: JCrew Factory (similar) | Necklace: Stella and Dot | Tank: Express (try ink blue) | Shorts: The Clothes Line Boutique | Wedges: Sperry (option)
Soft shorts, soft pants - they're both so huge right now. I wasn't sure if I would like the soft short trend, but how adorable are these babies?! Kind of obsessed! If you remember, I wore these at the TCL Boutique/CS Gems style event here.
Top: Express | Necklace: House of Harlow | Bottoms: Express | Shoes: Steve Madden
These knot tees are seriously my go to when I don't want to think about what to wear. I love that they are forgiving but super fitted and still figure flattering. I can wear them with the skinniest of jeans and not feel self conscious. And the knot detail makes it a little more special than a basic top. Throw in some leopard, and let's call this a weekend look!
Necklaces: CS Gems (c/o) | Watch: Kate Spade | Top: Express | Skirt: Banana Republic | Booties: Vince Camuto (other colors here)
This selfie really doesn't do the outfit justice. The proportions look off, and it definitely made me feel like I had an hourglass figure when I was wearing it in real life. And these peep toe booties are seriously like a second skin - so super comfy, you can't beat it.
Necklaces: Francesca's layered over Purple Peridot | Top: Express | Bottoms: American Eagle | Shoes: Vince Camuto
This outfit was totally inspired by one of Jenna's looks here. I loooove the idea of layering a statement necklace over this Purple Peridot - it's genius, I tell you! And ever since Jenna posted that outfit on Instagram, I have been obsessed with the layering!
Necklace: Target | Plaid top: Express | Tee: Express | Bottoms: Express | Shoes: Vince Camuto
And last but not least is another knot tee, but as an under layer this time. I've come to realize that I can be extremely relaxed up top, but as long as I finish off with some perfect pumps, I feel complete. I just can't help it!
_________
Hope you're having a great week! I am less than 24 hours away from shopping my most favorite sale of the year! Eeeeeeee!!

TCL Boutique: The striped maxi dress
This is a continuation of Monday's post as I share with you the second of three outfits from the styling event this past weekend at The Clothes Line Boutique with CS Gems. This dress was the first thing I gravitated to the moment I started my hunt for things to wear. I find myself buying at least one new maxi dress every year, and this was my perfect one. You know I love my stripes, but the color combination is so perfect for spring!
I'm careful about the maxi dresses I pick out for myself because not all maxis are created equal. This one got bonus points for not requiring a strapless bra. I also liked that it has a cinched waist since it keeps it from looking too much like a tent.
I thought this necklace was a great complement to this dress. Since the dress is long, I wanted a long, chunkier necklace to break up the monotony a bit and balance out the proportions. Gold felt more natural with these colors than silver, and this bolo slider necklace was just what the dress needed. For $12, I'm pretty sure you needed this necklace, like, yesterday!
Even though I brought 4 different bags/clutches with me for the shoot, I thought Jenna's bag was the best match. Oh the irony! And it's always fun to pattern mix a bit, so I tied this scarf to the bag for added interest - and emergency warmth for the sleeveless dress!
Sunnies: Vince Camuto | Necklace: CS Gems (exact here) | Dress: The Clothes Line Boutique | Bag: Borrowed from Jenna (option) | Polish: Essie "Butler Please" | Bracelet: JCrew | Scarf: The Clothes Line Boutique | Sandals: Jeffrey Campbell
I was worried the maxi dress would be too long on my 5'-2" self, but it fell just where I like my maxi dresses do when I put my sandals on. I really don't like my feet to be visible - I like for the hem to hover over the ground, without me stepping on it.
Needless to say, this dress came home with me. I knew as soon as I put it on that I wouldn't be able to let it go!

The Clothes Line Boutique
Photo credit: The Clothes Line Boutique website
Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was jam packed, but a whole lotta fun! Today will be one of three posts recapping the styling event in which I participated on Saturday with Sincerely Jenna Marie and hosted by CS Gems and The Clothes Line Boutique!
You guys already know Jenna and CS Gems and if you don't, you should visit their sites immediately! The Clothes Line Boutique was new to me, but they had me at hello. They're located in Waterloo, IL, which is a suburb located in the southern part of the St. Louis metro area. Their story is pretty similar to CS Gems - the shop was started on Facebook by two friends, Brooke and Missy, not realizing it would ever have such a successful following. They carry thoughtful trends you would expect from a boutique, but at truly affordable prices.
Jenna and I were tasked with finding three different outfits to style with CS Gems jewelry. The real challenge was narrowing it down to *only* three outfits and not bringing the whole store home with me!
Sunnies: Vince Camuto | Earrings: Stella and Dot | Necklaces: CS Gems (exact here and here) Use code CARYLEE15 for 15% off! | Top: TCL Boutique | Bracelet: CS Gems | Bottoms: Kut from the Kloth (via TCL Boutique) (option)
Nothing says "spring" to me more than a crisp white top, and I loved all of the details and delicate pleats of this top. Needless to say, this is one of the pieces that physically came home with me because I couldn't live without it. And it makes for such an easy outfit with some distressed denim, blush heels, and a bright clutch.
Heels: Louise et Cie
Necklace: CS Gems (sold out)
I also got to wear this beautiful statement necklace, which seriously goes perfectly with the top! Unfortunately, it sold that night after the styling event, so it's no longer available, but the photo was too good not to share with you. The great thing about CS Gems is the ability to own a one-of-a-kind piece. But if you see something you love, you really should snag it immediately because once it's gone, it's gone! And that necklace proves my point!
with Jenna
Yes, we're fashion bloggers. Yes, we have taken 238786348678634 outfit photos, but no, we never get comfortable in front of the camera. While I do adore this picture of the two of us….
…this picture is a more accurate depiction of how we are feeling on the inside! It was really fun to experience this event with a friend, and a friend who shares similar tastes at that! We each brought our own shoes, bags, and bottoms, and somehow we still ended up borrowing pieces from each other for a couple outfits. Imagine if we were neighbors! Oh the possibilities!
Loved being able to collaborate with CS Gems again, and to meet Brooke and Missy from The Clothes Line Boutique!! I'll have outfit number two ready for you later this week, with the third following next week!
While we were given a discount to shop at the boutique along with these photos in exchange for the blog posts, all views expressed are my own!
