Sealed with a belt

Cardigan: Design History (with my own self belt) | Necklace: mynamenecklace.com | Shift dress: H&M (old) (option, option) | Ring: BCBG (option) | Tights: Target (option) | Boots: Frye | Polish: Rimmel "Burgundy Flirt"

We woke up to about an inch of snow on the ground this morning. Nothing terrible, but just enough to make our 35-40 minute commute closer to an hour and 15 minutes. Dumb. I was sooo cold when I picked my outfit out last night, so I made sure to bundle up with something warm. This is the sweater that I accidentally ordered writing my Friday post. The tags said it retailed for $150+ so my $55 was a pretty good steal. Since I wore my other flyaway cardigan open with leggings on Friday, I decided to throw this one over a shift dress and seal it with a belt. And in the spirit of my resolutions, I wanted to make sure you saw both my nails, as well as these Fryes, which don't get near as much use as my other two pairs.

I seriously can't believe how much I love chunky-knit-anything this season. I can't get enough. That being said - I'm very much looking forward to spring though! At the moment, I'm in the process of trying to get a beach vacation planned for the end of April. Anyone ever been to Jamaica?

  2. I really like your boots! I've actually been looking at a pair of Frye boots recently, How are they and do they run true to size? Also, are they comfortable?

    1. Thanks, these are great! I have 3 pairs of Fryes and they are all true to size on me. My foot is a little on the wide side, but these fit just fine. I could absolutely wear these all day. The sole is slippery at first, but once they get scuffed up a bit, they're fine. You could also simply apply non-skid pads to the bottom too before wearing. Fryes are definitely worth it, in my opinion!

  4. I love love those boots and I've been searching for what seems forever for a great pair of cognac/whiskey boots. I've looked at these but they would never fit my calf circumference. I really love the way they fit on you and that is exactly how a boot should fit someone.

    Have a lovely day!!

  6. I haven't been to Jamaica but I hear San Diego has really nice weather...year round. :) Those boots fit you like a glove - why don't you wear them as much as the others? And I'm totally borrowing "seal it with a belt." I didn't see a TM on that. ;) I'm so impressed with your nail dedication this year!!

    1. Well, I have you to thank for the coconut oil idea! That makes me feel better about my nails - and honestly, coconut oil is the solution for everything, so I should have known.
RE: boots - I don't know why! The other pairs I have are grey and burgundy. These are more cognac, but more reddish brown. So anytime I want to wear cognac boots - I reach for my Coach wedge boots. I honestly think I just forget about these.
RE: San Diego - Oh, I will see about making a San Diego trip sometime for sure whether I go to Jamaica or not!
