Manic Monday: Dots, stripes, and my first glam bag

Welcome to another Manic Monday! We beat a new record last week for participation, and so first and foremost, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all you newbies as well as you regulars!

In the spirt of Manic Monday and my lovely co-host's (On the Daily Express) favorite store, I don't feel as guilty wearing head to almost toe Express. Especially when said outfit consists of these polka dot skinnies and perfect spring white top. You'll recognize the flats from my shoe wishlist post last week. I ordered them shortly after writing that post, go figure, but I was really happy with them when they arrived! To be honest, this is my only pair of Uggs I own. I never jumped on the Ugg boot bandwagon, so for now, I'm happy with my little striped flats bandwagon. The bag, well, I accidentally bought it over the weekend which added to my apparent Marc by Marc Jacobs bag addiction.

Sunnies: Gucci | Necklaces: Link - Express (option), Tassel - Express (option) | Top: Express (in "True White") | Jeans: Express | Bracelets: Cara (option), Stella and Dot | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs | Flats: Ugg (in "Navy Textile")

Before I go - I wanted to give quick reviews of some items in my first ever Ipsy Glam Bag! Not only is it my first Glam Bag, but it's my first ever subscription type package ever. I was more excited that a person probably should have been to open everything!

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick "Get Ready": I haven't worn lipstick in YEARS. Easily since high school. My lips are dry and lipstick just never lasted as well as gloss on me. I was still excited to try this one, especially since it's not something I would have bought myself. I've been into bold lip color lately, so it was refreshing to switch to this, which was the perfect pink for my complexion. The formula was very light and nice - I did apply a coat of Carmex before the lipstick, and overall, I'm very happy with the results. This will definitely remain in my ever evolving and quickly growing collection of lip color!

Nicole by OPI Roughles in "On What Grounds": I love that a top coat is not necessary for this - anything that saves me time, saves my life. The pastel color pop is perfect for spring, and the texture hides imperfection, and well, is just a lot of fun! I'm definitely going to be looking at more textured polishes in the future, as this was my first time trying!

  1. Eek! I love this look (of course!! LOL) It's just so springy and perfect, and how lucky that you had sunny weather for the photos. Also loving that you and Skye wore your white portofinos on the same day. Glad to see how the polka dot skinnies AND the flats turned out for you! Maybe I'll look for some striped low heeled sandals to re-create this a la me. :)

    1. I'm really surprised how much I loved the flats, especially that they are Ugg, because I kind of hate all things Ugg. At least they didn't have furry insoles! :) And yes, I'm so so so happy about these dot skinnies - they are just the best!

    1. Thank you! I couldn't believe it either - I'm glad, too, that the "Ugg" label isn't on the back of the shoe. They're fun just as they are!

    1. Ipsy is the only subscription service I have signed up for, so I have nothing to compare this to! It took a few months for this to kick in as I was on the wait list, but if my first box is indicative of what's to come, I'm definitely a happy customer!

    1. I know right!? When I first started my search for striped flats, I could not believe these were Ugg, especially since they didn't have any kind of plush or furry insole! They're actually a really great shoe for the summer!

I can't speak highly enough about MBMJ bags - they're always so well made and buttery soft! I love how slouchy and easy they are, too! Definitely worth the money IMO, even better when you can catch them on clearance!

  31. This is such a chic outfit. I am currently looking for Polka Dot Skinny Jeans and I happen to love yours. Also 2 great necklaces from Express. The Pastel Blue Nail Polish is Beautiful. But my most favorite thing here are the Smoking Flats and the fact that they are Striped. I cannot believe they are Uggs. So chic, urban and cool. I am eyeing a pair of Smoking Flats that are similar in Off-White & Dark Brown with Zebra Stripes. =)
