Shoesday: Spring shoe cravings

Spring shoes

1. Leopard sneakers: Guys. I just can't get these leopard slip ons out of my head? Why?? I do love everything leopard, and I have just about any kind of leopard shoe you can imagine… except for a good sneaker. I feel like I'm seeing these everywhere lately - or at least they are haunting me wherever I go. I love that you can grab a trench and throw these on for an effortless spring outfit to run around in.

2. D'orsay flats: I don't wear flats too much, and I've been actually trying to curb my craving for regular flats, because of the fact that they go unworn the most in my collection. But, I've been really wanting to try the d'orsay flat lately. It gives a much different silhouette than the standard round toe flat I own so many of, making them easier to pair with dresses or skirts. And the cut out sides make them a little more flirty and feminine.

3. Ankle straps: Honestly, I think Zara does the best job with their ankle strap sandals. Every time I see them on someone, I just love them - or, I end up seeing an ankle strap I love and they always end up being from Zara. I just need to order some already. They're a great finishing touch to any outfit, and I love that even with the minimalist design - they still make a big impact on the overall look. I also love the idea of looking for more of a thicker, stacked heel for better walkability.

4. Stripes: There's something so springy and nautical about striped shoes that makes me so happy! I obviously love donning stripes - I think it would be easy to style these babies since stripes always end up being a great neutral to pattern mix with.

What kind of shoes are you craving for the spring and how do you plan to style them?

  4. Do you not have any Zara shoes? How is that possible?! They do make really cute ones but oof. Comfort is greatly sacrificed (in my experience), even with all the tips and tricks you have up your sleeve for improving it. And quit tempting me to by flats! I have recently accepted that once I buy them I rarely reach for them (unless they are flat sandals...that's different) but argh! Those striped ones are SO CUTE.

    1. I've only owned two pairs of Zara shoes. One was a red patent kitten heel that was a size too big (a friend picked them up for me) and I never wore them. They got sold. The second pair are the spikey cap toe heels which I do actually love a lot! But you're right- I worry about comfort and quality which is why I don't buy them all the time. But the ankle straps are just so so good!

  6. I love Zara shoes. I agree that they do the ankle strap well but I am an eBay girl and there are tons on there that are good dupes. I have a pair of striped flats but they just don't look right on me. They're in my Poshmark pile.

  10. I love the ankle straps! I find that my feet come out of my heels more so having a strap makes it much easier so I don't have to grip with my toes as I walk!

    1. Yes, absolutely a wonderful benefit to ankle straps. I actually have a pair of heels that I want to take to a cobbler to add an ankle strap so my heel stays put!

  14. Great shoes Carylee. I need 2 pairs of Smoking Flats: a Leopard pair and a Black Leather pair with Gold Studs/Grommets. Some Neutral 2-tone T-Strap Heels would be perfect for Summer, too. They are great Sandals and so Versatile, I think. =)

    Happy Shopping to Us!!

  15. Remember when I wrote on your Instagram picture of the above graph that I want it all. Now after seeing pictures and all the options up close, I want it all- RIGHT NOW!!! :) :) The leopard print on the third sneaker with laces that looks like a boot is calling my name, the black D'orsay flats say me too me too, the thin strapped black ones want to live in my closet, and all the stripes are following their friends to my home. hahaha I think I officially went crazy losing myself in shoes- again- and need some retail therapy ASAP. Wonderful post and enabling my friend! <3<3 XOXO, Elif @ Theboxqueen

  16. Love love love your choices - ALL of them! If I'm honest though, I really struggle with flats, always end up buying them as think they're super cute, and then within a day they give me blisters, so I run back to heels - ankle straps, wedges, yeah baby! Fab choices, thanks so much for hooking up to #AllAboutYou

    1. Oh, I'm totally the same way. It's amazing and ironic that flats actually hurt my feet more than heels! I've recently discovered the friction balm that helps, so we'll see how these work out!
