Goodbye, sunshine

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I picked up this sweater during the Columbus Day sales. This sweater has everything I like - stripes, elbow patches, button detailing. Love, love love. I had put together some outfit inspirations on Polyvore, which is what ended up getting posted to Instagram here:

Well, the sweater arrived a couple of weeks ago, and I've been itching to wear it. It's just as soft and cozy as I was hoping it would be! I ended up switching the plaid scarf for this leopard one, and I must say, this is the perfect running-around-in-the-fall outfit.

Sunnies: Gucci (option) | Scarf: Express | Bag: Foley & Corinna | Sweater: J Crew Factory | Lace Tunic: ExpressJacket: Express (option, option)  | Leggings: Zella | Boots: Frye (more sizes here)

I don't know about you guys, but over here, it hit 82 degrees on Sunday. 82! I think this was nature's way of saying - oh hey, enjoy this beautiful day because you won't feel this again for about 6 months. Not to mention that we are "falling back" this weekend, too, which just means goodbye, sunshine. Wow, sorry to turn into Debbie Downer over here! How about we all just grab our pumpkin spice lattes, throw on our favorite blanket scarves, and make Smores by the fire?

  3. When I first opened this I thought the sweaters was one of those two layer sweaters but no, you are just a clever one and created your own two layer with that lace tunic! It looks great, and that sweater is sooo cute. (But don't tell me I need it...I have to make peace with the fact that crew neck anything is really not my best look! I will just have to admire it on you!)

    1. One of these days you will have to model a crew neck for me next to a non-crew neck so I can understand your stance!!
And I'm still so happy about these lace tunics! They're so handy!

  4. I love the top, really good purchase. 82 degree seem about the normal for us during fall/winter. When I want to feel the holiday spirit, I just go for the pumpkin spice drinks or eggnog. Perfect holiday feel lol.

    1. Oh gosh, this whole dark at 5 thing is making me so sad!! On Monday, I thought a storm was coming in because it was getting dark leaving work. Then I just realized that's just life for the next 5 months!!!

  9. Ssshh... don't talk about falling back. Maybe it just won't happen. Though I welcome more light during my morning runs- they are so dark right now I can't see sometimes.

I LOVE this look and all the ways you styled it. I had to laugh too. I'm wearing a striped shirt, jeans and leopard slides today.

Thanks for linking up at Whatcha Wearing Wednesday!

  10. Cheers to the s'mores, and someone please stop the time change, I'd rather wake up pitch dark and get some sense of "free time" in the afternoon with some light, than have the sun shining while I slave away at work.... please....
