Random Roundup

I've got a short and sweet roundup for you today. I swear it's like feast or famine with these selfies and what I haven't shared with you yet from my phone! You did see a peek of these in my capsule post on Tuesday, but here are all the deets! As with other random roundup posts, I'm only linking to the items that are still available.

Earrings: Stella and DotNecklace: Stella and Dot | Vest: JCrew Factory | Sweater: Neiman Marcus | Top: Express | Bracelets: Stella and Dot, NadriBottoms: Express | Booties: Hinge

Left: Before | Right: After the adjustments

So, I've said a few times on the blog now about how one of the benefits to taking blog photos in advance of me wearing these outfits in real life is that I can see how they look in pics and make adjustments after the fact if needed. That was the case with this outfit. The outfit on the left looked good in my full length mirror, but it photographed awfully and made me second guess it altogether.   Tucking in the top emphasized my hips and made my square shape almost look pear shaped! The flat booties made my legs look stumpy. While I loved the color combo, I could not post this outfit as is without making adjustments. Hence the photo on the right.

Leaving the shirt untucked and switching to heeled booties completely elongates my legs. It honestly doesn't even look like the same pair of pants. I liked it with the sweater over top, but it needed just a little bit more oomph, so I added the vest at the last second. Once you factor in the big pile of curls on my head, I go from 5'-2" in the left photo to about 5'-8" in the second. {insert cry laughing emoji here}

This outfit was my last Hail Mary for my capsule! I needed one more dress, a denim jacket, my favorite Fryes, and a pop-of-color scarf. Lucky for me, all of my "missing" pieces ended up looking great styled together into one outfit! The last time you saw this scarf was in this post here, and I realized it's been neglected! We can't have that, now can we?

Jacket: Express| Scarf: H&M | Sweater: Banana Republic | Jeans: ExpressHeels: BCBG

Funny thing about this outfit. Well, last weekend, I took blog photos as usual, then felt compelled to do a flat lay (it's therapeutic), so I did this and posted it on Instagram here. I was just wearing a tee and leggings at the time then sat in my recliner for the afternoon to start on my blog posts. The husband calls a couple hours later saying he'll be home in a bit, so I should be ready to go out for dinner. Well crap. I don't know what I'm going to wear. Oh yeah - maybe that outfit that's laying on the floor nice and neatly in the office. And voila - here's the flat lay transformed into real life.

By the way, did you notice that I wore the same sweater/leopard heels combo three times in one week? It's funny because my husband saw everything in my capsule and sarcastically said, "Oh my goodness. How can you survive with so little clothes?!" He thought I had way too much stuff, and I told him that the point of this challenge is to make everyone (including myself) forget that I'm working from a limited wardrobe. Even though the above three outfits have the same sweater/leopard base - I still felt like they were three totally different looks and I had no problem wearing them back to back to back.

That's all I got for you today! Have a great weekend!

I appreciate that you share your before/after look on outfits that you sent to rehab. :) It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who has to do all these adjustments to get things *just* right. Loved this post as usual!
