Random Roundup: San Antonio

I figured I would round out the trilogy of San Antonio posts with what I wore during the non-wedding day events. I was there for one whole week after all, so here is everything I wore, ate, and did during my stay! As with other random roundups, I will only link to the pieces that are still available!

First up is my travel outfit. I had to go from the airport to the outlet mall. I know, rough life. I was meeting Di from Click Clack Diaries as soon as I landed, so I wanted to be semi-fashionable, but still comfy and practical for the airport. And I did this by pairing stripes and leopard, two of my most favoritest things! I forgot how much I loved my Gigi sandals and am wondering what new color I need this year!

I mentioned on Wednesday that we had a 6 hour date that consisted of shopping, eating, shopping, and coffee. This was our eating part of the date. She took me to a taco joint called Torchy's and I also enjoyed a mango margarita to accompany my fried avocado taco. Yes, it's as amazing as it sounds.

Next up is St. Patrick's Day. So funny because last weekend, we celebrated St. Patrick's day on Saturday and my sister in law and I searched all of St. Louis for something green to wear - I mentioned that in this post here. Everything was olive or mint. Nothing quite in the kelly green category. Then I'm in San Antonio for all of one hour and I find this top and a TON of other green things that would have worked well for the occasion! #irony I wasn't sure what my St. Patrick's Day plans were going to be, but I bought this top just in case I needed it! Plus, the fit was pretty cute as well.

I ended up meeting three friends out for dinner and green drinks. I got a white sangria that the bartender was nice enough to make green for me! And yes, I'm having more chips and queso, though we weren't at a full on Mexican restaurant. We ended up at 54th Street Bar and Grill, which worked out since one of my friends was pregnant, and that can't be fun to be pregnant in an actual bar.

This was Wednesday early evening. I literally spent the entire day doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. I'm pretty sure I took two naps. It was amazing. My dad asked me why I wasn't going out - I told him I was enjoying my silence because things were about to get crazy. I had arrived before everyone else. The rest of the family, including my husband, weren't showing up until Wednesday evening. I purposely did this though so I could have time for my non-wedding friends, knowing my schedule would be at the mercy of everyone else's. Everyone was just coming over to my parents house to eat and socialize.

So yessssss, I got to squish the nephew! And seriously - how good is he at selfies! I think he just likes looking at himself because he knows how freaking adorable he is!

Thursday was pre-wedding family bonding day! My brother had been talking to us about this new place called Top Golf. I had never played golf before in my life - other than the mini variety. :) So I was excited, but basically knew I would suck.

So, there ended up being a 3 hour wait at Top Golf, so we went ahead and got lunch while we waited. My brother picked this placed called Whiskey Cake, and it was. So. Good. I had to show you a picture of the Whiskey Flight that the husband had, but I enjoyed some ramen with a Grey Goose cosmo instead. Basically, any time I can have ramen, I am a happy person.

Well, wouldn't you know, I don't completely suck at golf. Ha! I definitely would not say I'm good, but I certainly didn't even expect hitting the ball at all. You see that blue circle way in the back left? Yup, yours truly even had a shot way out there. I think the sangria I was drinking was giving me power, because the more I started to slow down on the sangria, the less I started hitting the ball. It was sooo much fun! I would totally do it again, even despite the long wait!

And if you're keeping count, I've had a lot of alcohol by this time in the week and my body was not happy with me. And I'm not even talking about getting crap faced every night, but one drink definitely hurts me a lot more than it used to. Sigh. So, I bring you this outfit, which is me just trying to detox and get mentally and physically prepared for open bar at the wedding. Ha! Friday before the rehearsal dinner, my sister and I ran to get our nails done and did a couple of last minute shopping stops.

The one thing I wished I would have brought on my trip are closed toed shoes - any of my slip on sneakers would have done! I only paid attention to the temperature in San Antonio, not the fact that it would be wet and rainy every single day! And I absolutely hate wet feet and sandals when it's raining! Ugh! Lesson learned, always bring a pair of slip on sneakers.

Well who is this little cutie? This is Petie. He's a rat terrier and the sweetest one you will ever meet at that. He's actually my brother's dog that has been staying with my mom for the last year or so since my brother moved into his apartment. Now that my mom is traveling more and more to California to see the nephew, Petie has been having to get boarded a lot, which makes me a bit sad. So. My brother agreed to let me and the husband take him with the condition that my brother can take him back if and when he is able to. Their goal is to have a house by the end of the year, but Petie is not a young dog and I just want to give him some company! Annie our beagle will hopefully appreciate the companionship as well! The husband has a conference to attend in San Antonio in early April, so we will be driving back with Petie then! <3 It's always nice to end Friday Favorites on a happy note!
