Last minute changes

Happy Friday!

I'm doing something just a little bit different today. Due to my wind mishap last weekend, I gave up on photos and ended up one outfit short this week. I wish I was a better planner and had outfits photographed weeks in advance, but in reality, it's hard planning outfits as it is, just one week in advance because my appetite for outfits changes on a daily basis. Does yours?

I've always been proud that I do wear what I post about, but taking photos ahead of time vs. real time leaves that door just a little bit open for me to make last minute changes the day that particular outfit is scheduled.

So, that's what this post is all about. It's all about those last minute wardrobe decisions that didn't get a proper photo shoot, but I was still able to document via selfies. I do eventually wear what I post on the blog, it just may end up being later than originally planned. Since there are so many looks, I'll just link to what is still available vs. trying to find similar pieces for the non-available stuff. Hope that's ok!!

That day I posted my date night outfit here, this is what I really wore that day - a casual Friday type of outfit, but on a Tuesday! (Because I can!)

Top: American Eagle | Necklace: Express | Pants: Express | Shoes: Steve Madden

The day I shared my love for leopard, white, and cobalt here, I tweaked it to make it more work appropriate and ditched the shorts for chinos instead. This was also right after my walk, and these Sam Edelman sandals were the only things that could fit my swollen feet.

Left: Outfit details here
Right: Necklace: Express | Top: Express | Pants: American Eagle | Sandals: Sam Edelman

I finally got around to wearing my mint and windowpane outfit from this post here. But again, I was limited to my Sam Edelman sandals due to swollen feet! Seriously don't know what I would have done without these!!

Top: Kate Spade | Necklace: Kate Spade | Pants: American Eagle | Sandals: Sam Edelman

Last week when I was teaching you how I use the curling wand here, I was really wearing this dress and scarf in real life. Express really needs to make these dresses again. I have one in every color, and I still don't feel like I have enough!

Scarf: Kate Spade | Dress: Express | Sandals: Sam Edelman

Last Thursday, I showed off my LWD. But wouldn't you know, Aunt Flo decided to show up. Yeah, I don't wear white when she visits.

Top: Express | Skirt: The Limited | Bag: Kate Spade | Shoes: MICHAEL Michael Kors (limited sizes)

Friday, I showed you my dream vanity, but was wearing this nautical inspired combination instead. Another outfit I wished I got proper photos of!

Jacket: Zara | Dress: Cynthia Rowley | Belt: Express | Sandals: Joan and David

And finally, it's been wretched hot this week which makes me want to wear dresses and not pants. So, I switched my Wednesday outfit out for my LWD (since it was safe to wear again…) and I decided to switch up the accessories a bit with some new purchases.

Scarf: JCrew Factory | Dress: Lilly Pulitzer | Sandals: Sam Edelman (yep, I couldn't resist them in leopard!)

I think that's all the extras from my archives. Looking at this round up of looks, it's safe to say that I love leopard and I love the Sam Edelman Gigi sandals! (You need them, I promise.)

If you ever want to see what I'm wearing outside of the blog, you can always follow me on Instagram or Tumblr for bonus footage. Hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane/ behind the scenes footage! I feel like a broken record, but I am sure looking forward to life settling down a bit! Have a great weekend!

  1. Okay, I love this post. I know you might feel kinda bad about not having another outfit post to share, but this is such an extra-real, behind the scenes look, and I think you should do this kind of post again now and then! =)

    1. Girl, yes you do!! I cannot express how much I love them. I struggled finding a thong sandal like this- they never looked right on me and I just thought all of them would look horrible on me. My Nordies SA made me try these on and I couldn't believe how much I loved them. Just sayin!

  3. Girl, I feel your pain! I like to be two weeks ahead at all times but sometimes due to weather, mental blocks, life, etc. it just doesn't happen! I do get anxious about it though. I started keeping a list of outfits that I want to photograph and blog so that I am not so overwhelmed if I am behind! I want at least one piece of each look you posted! Ha! Love love love your stlye!

    1. I should keep a list! I normally make drafts in polyvore, but a simple list is probably a faster way to record keep!

  4. I agree with Kacie - this was a really fun post! I like reading why you change your outfit and why. Plus, it's just a whole lot of great outfits in one post, which is always a win.

    1. It bothers me when I end up not wearing something exactly as depicted on the blog! Like I'm mis-representing myself or something!! But it's so true that my mood changes so much - hence why I also hate packing and being bound by what's in my suitcase! Glad you enjoyed this though!!

  5. Great post! I know exactly how you feel! Unfortunately with the kids I'm lucky if I can shoot two days in advance. Normally I'm shooting an outfit every single day. I do need to get on a better schedule but I will plan my outfits and hang them up on a clothing rack so I can just pull from it. It does make it a little easier. I've also become a weather fanatic and I check the wind speed every day so I can figure out if it's a top knot day or I can wear my hair down lol! Oh the #fashionbloggerproblems! I do love your lace dress btw!!

    Have a great weekend love!

  6. So many cute outfits! I love the windowpane print/mint jeans combination. I always take my outfit photos on the weekends (I just have more time then) so I'm usually not wearing what I wore on my blog the same day I wore it in real life.

  11. This was fun post! I know that feeling that it can be so hard to plan and shoot ahead of time. I try not to stress too much if a shoot doesn't happen or a outfit doesn't work. That stripe dress with the floral scarf is my favorite outfit here! It is so cute!

  12. I love these photos -they are seriously just as cute in a different kind of way than your normal shoots. Since I am so new to blogging I have not got myself completely organized yet and it is literally one day a time right now. I have a strong desire to change this and am just going to have to take the time to start making it happen. I really enjoyed this behind the scenes look - thanks for sharing!

  17. Hi my dear, I really enjoyed this post. Have been traveling, and still blogging like normal so it has been pretty crazy over here. Have missed seeing more of your posts and adore this one!! Seriously all the outfits here are super FAB!!! The mint pants and windowpane top is just my style too, adore the plaid top midi look, and agree with you 100% dresses are great in summer. I have almost exclusively been wearing dresses/skirts the past couple weeks. Why is it that each time I come to see what you've got here I have a sudden urge to shop shop shop??? :-))) You do have that effect on me, now if only we can find some time for that duo shopping trip! Hugs and kisses lovely! Elif
