More stripes and another trip

Remember when I was telling you guys about my foolproof top? Well, I ended up ordering both of the other colors. I figured for as much as I wore the first one, the other two will get plenty of air time. And yes, this is the second pair of Pedro Garcia shoes you are seeing in one week. Completely not intentional, just really trying to make sure all my fall shoes get the appropriate attention and I loved the way these grounded the outfit.

Sunnies: Vince Camuto (option) | Bag: Tory Burch (option, budget option)  | Top: J Crew Factory | Bracelet: Natasha Couture (option) | Bottoms: Express | Shoes: Pedro Garcia (option, option

Another week, another trip, right? October is going to be a very busy month for me and it all starts this weekend. The husband has a work conference to attend in Montreal. Neither of us have ever been, so we're going to go ahead and make a long weekend out of it. The conference doesn't start until Monday, but we are flying in Saturday to explore the City for the weekend. Anybody been before? Suggestions?

The conference is Monday and Tuesday, which will give me the chance to work during the day myself from the hotel. That's the great part of my job-- that I can really do it from anywhere. I did the exact same thing when I was in California meeting my nephew! I do wish my work laptop didn't weigh a thousand pounds, but otherwise, it's sometimes nice to work away from the office because you don't get the distractions of your phone ringing, or people stopping by your desk for random conversations, or getting tempted by food and coffee in the kitchen!

I was looking at photos of Montreal, and it looks like a little mini Paris! Perhaps I should wear my third color of this shirt there since it's navy and white stripe, which is always a very Parisian color combo in my head! Now off to research shopping options!

Print mix + navy heels

Sunnies: Tom Ford | Necklace: Express | Bag: Kate Spade (option)  | Blazer: The Limited (option)  | Top: Express | Bracelet: Natasha Couture (option) | Bottoms: Express (option) | Shoes: Zara

I got this blazer at the end of last season, but it warmed up quickly after, so I haven't gotten a chance to wear it until now! Ok, I'm lying. *I* didn't get it, I had one of my shopping spies around the country pick this up because my Limited was out in my size. Ah, it's nice to have sources, eh? I love the way it pairs with my new favorite portofino. I know I'll be wearing this top again and again.

And, how freaking awesome are these heels!? I needed a pair of navy heels (I promise, I did -  my collection lacks in this category.) The fact that they are lace-ups are an added bonus, and I always swoon over Zara's shoes. And hello, they were $36, so how do I say no to that?

Manic Monday: This vest

Guys, I just love this vest. I'm honestly surprised how *much* I love this vest. I was skeptical whether or not I would actually wear it, but the price per wear keeps getting lower and lower. When I first wore it on the blog back in February here, I linked to this Atlantic-Pacific outfit, which I have re-created today. I must say, this may be my favorite styling of it yet! Maybe. Though with that midi striped skirt….

Mix it Mondays: See how else I've styled this vest!
1: Sport Utility | 2: Remixed to the Max | 3: Travel outfit | 4: Girly and Gingham

Sunnies: Vince Camuto | Earrings: Stella and Dot | Necklace: Francesca's (option, option)  | Vest: J Crew Factory (option)  | Top: Gap (option)  | Belt: Gap (option) | Bracelet: Natasha Couture (option, option) | Bag: Kate Spade (optionoption) | Jeans: Delia's | Pumps: Kate Spade (option, awesome budget option)

I've put myself on a self-imposed shopping ban for a little while. I feel like I've been doing lots of splurging lately, so I figured I would calm down a bit. It's good because it forces me to remix the pieces I already own such as this vest! I really do think you guys need one, too! I was able to score it during one of JCrew Factory's sales, so the next time I see the price drop, I shall let you know! Though, it's worth it to me at its current price, just sayin...

Hope everyone has a great week! This will be my first normal week since March, so I am looking forward to getting caught up at work and in life!

Mint and windowpane

Sunnies: Gucci | Earrings: Stella and Dot | Necklaces: Express (option, option)  | Top: Kate Spade (option, option, option) | Bracelet: Natasha Couture (option) | Pants: American Eagle  (optionoption) | Oxfords: Sam Edelman (in silver cheaper here)

This outfit reminds me of a more casual, laid back version of my mint and chevron outfit from many moons ago. Similar in concept - black + white + mint + gold  geometric pattern + fun shoes. I'm actually surprised with how much I still love mint. I thought it was going to be a phase for me, but so far, it has stuck and I don't see myself giving it up anytime soon. And I don't know what it is about layering these two necklaces together - if you remember, I also did that here. They just go great together - and honestly, I didn't start layering necklaces until I started blogging. I just never thought to do it before! Also, I'm pretty sure my eyes are closed in that last picture, but that's one benefit to wearing sunglasses in photos! I do actually prefer taking photos sans sunnies, but I swear my eyes are so sensitive to light - I'd never have my eyes open without them!

P.S. I did a guest post over at Momma in Flop Flops - please check it out here and show Andrea some love!

Leopard, pink, and gold

Top: Express | Necklace: Express (option) | Belt: Bebe (option) | Bracelet: Natasha Couture (option) | Bag: Kate Spade (option, option) | Jeans: Express Rerock | Shoes: Sam Edelman (option) (on sale in silver here) (super cheap, laceless option here)

So, first of all, I realize Express floods my closet, and I hate when I end up dressing head to toe Express. Well, I don't necessarily *hate* it, but I feel like I'm not giving you guys variety  - so for that I apologize. Second of all - I always see leopard and pink together, and I love the combo, but I don't think I've worn this myself. Leopard and cobalt is one of my most favorite combos I've worn (seen here), so I'm happy to finally show off leopard plus pink in today's look.

And how ridiculous are these oxfords?! Ridiculously adorable, that is! If you remember, I had been stalking these and then Jenna tipped me off that they were on sale on 6pm.com. Unfortunately, they now appear to be sold out, but you can still get the silver color - I originally wanted the silver color first, but decided against them because I already have these oxfords here that have a silver cap toe. I mean, how many metallic oxfords does one really *need* in their wardrobe? You're right. All of them.
