The Olive Jumpsuit

Bobi Supreme Jersey Sleeveless Jumpsuit

I've owned a couple of jumpsuits over the last few years, which you can see in these older posts here and here. While I did love those two a lot, I always wished that I found one with a slightly cropped and tapered leg. This one kept appearing in my Facebook feed as an ad, and I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy it, and I'm glad I did! The fit was exactly what I was looking for! Now if I could only find this in a pair of simple black pants vs. a full on jumpsuit....

Inspired by the birthday girl

You guys! It's Rachelle's birthday today, so please hop over to her blog here and wish her well! I'm so very excited to know her and to celebrate another birthday with her! One of these days we'll meet in person, but in the meantime, I will continue to pull inspiration from her!

I knew she's inspired many looks and purchases over the last couple of years that I have "known" her, but once I started putting this post together, I feel like I'm bordering stalker status here! Goodness! I'm glad she still likes me! I just love love love her style, specifically the way she pairs pieces together and she's always able to find the greatest steals! I'm pretty sure we were separated at birth. Don't believe me? Take a look!

My first ever Rachelle inspired purchase - see old school post HERE

I obsessed over this bag thanks to Rachelle's post - read my story HERE

I told you there was some Single White Female action going on up on this blog! But, really, can you blame me? Naturally I had to keep the momentum going on her actual birthday, so my look today is 100% Pink Sole inspired. I just loved how she paired camel with her black and white striped dress.

See Rachelle's original post HERE

A striped dress is such a staple for me! I would normally try and layer or pattern mix or do some sort of color pop, but although I ended up not going with a true camel color for my bag and booties like she did, I still think these taupes provide a similar look and feel to the outfit. They really let the dress speak for itself.

Sunnies: Ray BanNecklace: Kendra Scott (c/o) | Earrings: Kendra Scott (c/o) | Bag: Chloe  (for a lower price point, shop See by Chloe bags HERE)Dress: Pulse (c/o) (other options here and here)  | Bracelet: Kendra Scott (c/o) | Booties: Vince Camuto (another Rachelle-influenced purchase!)

Sometimes it's the easiest of combinations that I never think of, but I love them just the same. And that's one more reason why I adore Rachelle's style because she can mix things up just as easy as she can keep things simple. I really hope she has a special day and enjoys her birthday weekend! Please, please, please pop over and blow up her blog with happy comments! Oh! And if you're not already following her on Snapchat - her user name is pinksole_rach. You will fall in love with her sweet voice and she will motivate you with her workout and cooking skills! Ok, I promise I'm not a stalker. I just love my friends, okay?!

Necklace: Purple Peridot | Bag: Tory Burch (Back in stock!!) | Vest: JCrew Factory (cold weather version here) | Dress: Pulse (c/o) (other options here and here) | Booties (originally seen here): Pulse (c/o) (other option here(use code "carylee" for 20% off your first purchase!)

And before I go, here's another way I styled this dress. See what I mean about pattern mixing and layers? A striped dress is such a nice blank canvas to build upon. If you don't have one (or seventeen) in your collection, then I highly suggest hunting for your perfect one because it will become the foolproof piece you reach for when nothing else seems inspiring!

Ok, lastly….

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RACHELLE!!!!

Hello Monday: The print dress

Disclosure: CS Gems gifted me some jewelry and The Fashion Lane provided me a discount to shop in exchange for these photos and this blog post. All opinions expressed are my own.

Yay for short weeks! I'm only working Monday through Wednesday this week and then we're off for a long weekend in SoCal because the nephew turns ONE this weekend! Not sure how time has flown by so quickly! But before those festivities kick off, I do have a few things to share with you this week! Let's start with this adorable printed dress from The Fashion Lane! You can see the other two outfits I styled with CS Gems and The Fashion Lane here and here.

Earrings: The Fashion Lane | Necklaces: CS Gems (here and here - use code CARYLEE15 for 15% off!) | Bag: Tory Burch (option) | Dress: The Fashion Lane | Bracelets: CS Gems | Flats: Halogen (other colors here)

I was basically in love the second I laid my eyes on this dress. The print and embroidered trim are beautiful I will be packing this with me this weekend on my trip for sure! Very packable and versatile to dress up or down, which is ideal for me not knowing what our exact plans will be.

These style events have been pretty great. I basically bring a few basics - some jeans, shoes, and clutches, build outfits using pieces from the boutique and finish off the look with accessories from CS Gems. Not knowing what you'll end up wearing makes it pretty fun for all parties. And it also proves how versatile the jewelry from CS Gems really is - there's always a piece or two or three that will go with what I'm wearing.

Oh! Before I go! If you're local to the St. Louis metro area, you'll be happy to know that The Fashion Lane has opened a brick and mortar store in Clayton! They're at 7529 Forsyth, so be sure to stop in and say hello!

I hope you enjoyed this series! I'm sure there will be more of these in the future!

Happy Birthday to me!

Sunnies: Ray Ban (other colors here) | Earrings: Express | Necklace: Kate Spade (couldn't really find anything similar, but found some pretty pink options here and here) | Bag: Tory Burch (option here) | Top: Express (optionoption, option) | Bracelets: Nadri (option), Kendra Scott, Stella and DotBottoms: Express (similar) | Shoes: Louise et Cie (option)

It's hard to believe I'm celebrating my third birthday on the blog! That's a lot of outfit photos, folks! Since my birthday falls on a random Tuesday, we had some pre-celebrations over the weekend as a warm up! And if the pre-celebrations are any indication of how today will be, I have absolutely nothing to complain about and only more wonderful things to look forward to!

If you follow me on Snapchat (carylee07), you've already seen bits and pieces of the weekend events! It started on Saturday. We had tickets to the Cardinals game as part of our quarter season passes, but the husband had to let me in on part of my gift before this game because he was supposed to pick up the tickets that night! He got me Commissioner's Box tickets to the game tonight against the Giants! For those not familiar - this puts me in seats right next to the Cardinals dugout AND they're all inclusive seats, which means all the food and drinks I can manage as well. Perhaps it's because of my lady time right now, but I happy cried when he told me about the tickets. I'M SO EXCITED.

Saturday night at the game, the husband left in the 7th inning to get us some cocktails. The lady on the other side of me left as well, so picture me sitting in between two empty seats. Well, Peralta, our shortstop, was up at bat and hit a foul ball. I've been to plenty of games to know that people will climb over you for these balls, and they typically end up bouncing anyway - so even if you think they're coming at you, the chances of you actually getting one are pretty slim. Well, this night, I look up and see this ball directly over my head. I usually duck, even if the ball is two sections over, but I was unusually calm. A second later, I feel the ball hit me pretty hard in my hip. I expected it to bounce, but when it didn't, I reached down in my seat and sure enough, there was the ball.

I was ridiculously excited, and random strangers were asking to take pictures of me. Haha! Naturally, since the husband was gone, I had to put it on Snapchat first and foremost, and then Facebook. It was pretty amazing and I didn't let go of the ball for the rest of the night. The husband had to grab it from me before I went to the bathroom. Ha! (Yes, I'm a crazy fan, I can't help it!)

Sunday we met Beth and her hubby and kids for brunch at Chophouse. The chicken and biscuits changed my life. Just saying. Afterwards, the husband agreed to take me shopping wherever I wanted. He ordered me a little something that's supposed to arrive today, but apparently there was room leftover in his birthday budget for me to pick something out myself. I mean. I can't say no to that! I always feel so pressured to pick ANYTHING I want. Those are the times when I have no idea what I'll end up with! I decided to go with the Rag and Bone Sullivan booties.

(via Snapchat - carylee07)

I'm a sucker for a good suede bootie, and my Sam Edelman Petty booties could use a backup since I wear them to death! And the caption is totally true - they really do feel like butter. Two wildly enthusiastic thumbs up from me!

Since we weren't doing anything super fancy on Sunday, I wanted to be comfortable, so I didn't go as dressy as I've done for past birthdays. Just some grey skinnies and this lace top that's been calling my name to wear all summer! I did end up changing into flat sandals for shopping because I wanted to shop without having to worry about how long my feet would last! I'll have to fill you in on how tonight's game went later!

LEFT: Birthday 2013 | RIGHT: Birthday 2014

It's always fun to look back at old posts, so I dug up the last two birthday posts for you to read with me! I just LOL'd putting these photos into the post because in 2014 I'm wearing the same tunic from this year's birthday post, just in black. Some things never change, eh? I always used to dread my birthday every year because I end up disappointed, but the last few years have been pretty amazing. I am nothing but thankful!

Hello Monday: Weekend in New Buffalo, MI

Sunnies: Ray Ban (other colors here) | Earrings: Old Navy | Necklace: House of Harlow 1960 | Bag: Tory Burch (roomier option here) | Dress: JCrew Factory (other prints here, solid colors here) | Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell (in taupe here, option here and here)

I don't know about you, but I am exhausted!!! It's been a long, but fun last few days. This weekend was the bachelorette party for a wedding I'm in later this fall - you can refresh yourself with the wedding shower here. I'm laughing as I write this because I wore the same exact dress for the the bachelorette party as I wore for the shower, just in a different print, obviously. What can I say? When something works, I buy all the colors! PS I took these outfit photos one week ago, before I was actually on the trip, hence the different hairstyle!

The bride wanted a relaxing weekend, so we decided to book rooms at the Marina Grand Resort in New Buffalo, MI. New Buffalo is located at the southwest corner of the state, just inside the Indiana border. We rented a loft suite that slept 6 - two in the master king bed, two on the pull out sofa bed, and two in the loft on twin beds. The view was beautiful.

View from our suite

It was about a five hour drive from here, so we rented a Suburban, loaded it up and 4 of us carpooled together. Some of these shots may look a little familiar to you if you followed along on Snapchat (carylee07)!

We ended up getting into town around 7pm local time, and we had no set plans for the evening other than having drinks and heavy apps in our suite. We made all the girls upload photos (the more embarrassing the better) of the bride over the years. We printed them all out, enlarging some of the good ones, and sprinkled them everywhere around the suite. There were over 120 photos everywhere, so it was a riot watching her trying to remember where some of them were taken and with whom they were taken. :) Naturally, we bought some of the stereotypical bachelorette party decor and threw it into the mix.

Saturday morning, we all met up around 10am to grab some breakfast snacks in the resort coffee shop and head to the beach. We brought snacks and drinks with us as well and ended up laying out for about 4 hours or so before posting up at the resort pool. Frankly, this was just a big tease for me! I missed the beach and need a proper beach vacation!

Dinner reservations were at 6pm, which ended up working out quite nicely.  We ate at the Brentwood Tavern, which was located in our resort. After dinner, we had cocktails at the rooftop bar, also at the resort - the bride opened gifts and we ate cake! We ended the night at The Stray Dog where we had more after dinner drinks... and a second dinner. Ha! It was late by the time we ate again though, closer to 11pm. We originally planned to have lunch at The Stray Dog since everyone spoke so highly of their rooftop seating, but with a late breakfast and early dinner, we ended up just doing snacks on the beach in lieu of a heavy lunch. There ended up being 14 of us total and we all made it back in one piece!

I had lofty plans to write 5 blog posts this week, but I don't quite think that will be happening! I'll be downsizing to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday posts this week while I catch up on life! In Wednesday's post, I'll go over what I packed, so please be sure to check back in for the details!
