Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Necklace: Charming Charlie | Sweater: Target | Bottoms: American Eagle (option) | Shoes: Converse

Woohoo! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I honestly don't have much green in my wardrobe that isn't olive. The husband saw this sweater during one of our trips to Target and he told me I needed it. Every year, we go downtown for the parade and head to an Irish pub afterwards to devour corned beef and cabbage. His best friend's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day, so the festivities are truly more for the birthday than they are for the holiday, but I can never say no to corned beef and cabbage. So.

Well, it's back to real life for me, but I'm happy that I can extend the weekend in NYC throughout the week as I recap the outfits I wore. This outfit was what I threw on for brunch on Sunday. We went to a place called CookshopJenna was the master at finding us the perfect restaurants at which to dine, and this was no exception.

It was about a one mile walk from our hotel, and the weather was perfect, if not a little on the warm side, for a nice stroll. We called ahead and they told us it would be about 30-45 minutes for a table, and unfortunately, they would not let us put our name on the list over the phone. It actually worked out quite nicely though because this gave us enough time to take some blog photos while we waited. This is the #1 perk of traveling with another blogger: guilt-free photos!

The food was amazing, so I highly recommend popping in if you're in the Chelsea area. I would definitely go back and have the Huevos Rancheros all over again! As for the outfit, well, you know my love for saying tees, and this one certainly speaks to my heart. My cousin spotted this on Instagram and tagged me because she thought I needed it. Needless to say she was right, so when I saw it last weekend at Target, I grabbed it immediately.

Jack Purcell sneakers (shop other Converse sneakers HERE) | Tory Burch bag (exact)

Originally, I styled it for a flat lay with my Jack Purcell sneakers, my Tory Burch bag, and my straw fedora. When it came time to pack, I ended up having to weed stuff out so I could fit everything in my carry on roller bag. Since I was already packing three (yes three) purses with me, my Tory Burch ended up not making the cut, unfortunately. And I couldn't figure out a way to pack the hat in my already-overstuffed-bags without it getting smashed. Therefore, I left the hat behind also, but I was regretting that decision this morning when the sun was blinding me even with sunnies on. I know, the struggle, right? I did pack the sneakers, but it was pretty warm and my piggies needed to be free instead of sweaty in my sneakers. I still think the outfit turned out great regardless, especially since the $12 shirt steals the show anyway!

Summer boho

I first posted this flatlay on Instagram here, and then I also mentioned it in my packing post here. I had requests for photos with the outfit actually on me, and you know I love appeasing my readers! Plus, I'm just a little bit obsessed with these booties, and since there has been a hint of coolness in the air, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to wear this outfit in its entirety, with some adjustments to the jewelry, because I always forget what jewelry I originally intend to wear!

Sunnies: Ray Ban | Earrings: Kendra Scott (c/o) | Necklace: Express, Target | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (gifted) | Cover up: Target | Top: Express (option) | Ring: CS Gems | Shorts: Express (option) | Booties: Pulse (c/o) (other option here) (use code "carylee" for 20% off your first purchase!)

Fringe booties and denim shorts seem a bit cliche together, but I don't care! Sometimes I like to pick a theme and just jump head first into it. I have been wanting some fringe booties, and when I opened this box, I was very pleased! They're adorable and since they're a faux suede, I don't have to stress about not ruining them. They're very walkable and you can't beat a good stacked heel. Overall - two thumbs up!

Pulse recently revamped their website, so I think you will find it more shopper friendly! They do have a few more options for fringe boots, but if that's not your thing, what about this cozy sweatshirt or this wrap top? Regardless of what catches your eye, Pulse was nice enough to provide my readers with 20% off your first purchase if you use code "carylee" so I hope you are able to take advantage of it!

Disclosure: Pulse provided me these boots in exchange for promotion on my blog and social media accounts, however, all opinions expressed are my own.

Hello Monday: Return of the flares

Sunnies: Ray Ban (shop Ray Ban mirrored aviators here) | Necklace: CS Gems (c/o) (Love this option! Use code CARYLEE15 for 15% off!) | Bag: Target (option, option) | Top: Mindy Mae's Market (exact here) | Bracelet: Mindy Mae's Market (exact here) | Jeans (40% off!): Express | Shoes: Kate Spade

I got a Delia's catalog in the mail this week and I was so super confused because they closed all their stores a few months ago. Apparently they are back - only selling online - but they are back, and I could not help but get just a weeeee bit excited. No, I'm not a teenager, but Express, American Eagle, and Delia's are the three stores I can buy my size in bottoms and know they will fit me. So yay for great fitting pants!

Delia's totally reminds me of the 90s and the 90s are certainly back with a bang. The overalls, the florals, yes, those are reminiscent of that decade for me, but slipping on this pair of flared leg jeans took me back to another time - like hearing your favorite song from years ago on the radio again!

I had been craving a pair of flares, but was avoiding them because I certainly don't miss the battle of the inseam. You know what I'm talking about - needing a different inseam for every shoe heel height in your closet! That's the biggest advantage to skinny jeans - not having to worry about that! I love my flares to hover right over the floor when I'm in shoes, and this "short" length from Express works perfectly with my 4" heels.

I don't think flares will start kicking my skinnies out of my collection, but for now I'm definitely loving this super soft, perfectly stretchy, non-muffin-top-giving pair!

Before I go - please pop over to Olivia's blog to read this post here. She polled some fellow blogging friends to bring you some of our favorite fashion advice, including a tidbit from yours truly!

The lace up flats

Jenna and Rachelle have both taunted me with their love for lace up flats. I've been resisting because flats don't seem to work as well for me - they always tear up my feet, and I ended up getting rid of the majority of them in my collection. But after going two for two with my recently purchased flats (here), I've decided to give flats another go. These Topshop flats seem to come in and out of stock in black so the second I saw them available, I ordered them without hesitation. It's actually Jenna who discovered they were back then texted me and I ordered them on a plane right before take off! Shopping is serious business, folks!

Sunnies: Ray Ban | Necklace: Kate Spade | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs | Top: Target | Bracelet: Banana RepublicBottoms: Express | Flats: Topshop (other colors here)

Gosh, I just love them, and they photograph so beautifully! I added some distressed denim and a boyish camo tee to offset their sweet side. Which, by the way, I had been eyeing this v-neck camo tee from the Anniversary Sale, but a) I couldn't bring myself to pay $79 for it and b) it's out of stock anyway so even if I found the courage, it's long gone. I was doing some last minute shopping on Saturday for the bachelorette party this weekend, and snatched up this tee at Target for a whopping $9. Looking at these photos, I would probably skip a partial tuck next time or simply wear some low rise jeans vs. these mid rise. My torso just looks a little short in these photos and doesn't do this tee its justice!

Poppin tags

Sunnies: Tom Ford | Earrings: Express (option) | Necklace: Target (option) | Bag: Kate Spade (funky option) | Top: Express | Bracelet: Nadri | Bottoms: Express | Shoes: Vince Camuto (option)

As I was trying to pick outfits for the week, I was sifting through my tops to see if there was anything new with tags that I hadn't worn yet. I need a better system for keeping tabs on these items because I don't always wear things the second I buy them. Though, I'm happy to say that my collection of new-with-tags items is pretty minimal. I have a handful of Barcelona camis, and I found this one with its tags in tact, so I quickly popped them and decided to be a little matchy matchy and pair it with these delicious heels. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times - sometimes it's nice to just be simple.

Lilly hangover

If your Instagram feed is anything like mine, it's been saturated with Lilly Pulitzer for Target stuff since the wee hours on Sunday about a week and a half ago. So much so that it gave me a bit of a Lilly hangover and almost ruined any interest I had in the collaboration. But, when Di sent out a public service announcement that she was going to Target and solicited requests from fellow shopaholics on anything we may want, I texted her that I'd be happy with any of the pom pom scarves.

Via Instagram here

Luckily, she was able to get her hands one some! Yippee! Not only do I love them as scarves, but I loved the idea of wearing them as a cover up over a bathing suit with different tying methods. Now, I just need a beach vacation… In the meantime, I figured I could add some playfulness to this outfit by simply tying it to my bag.

Sunnies: Vince Camuto | Necklace: Express (option) | Bag: Kate Spade (option) | Scarf: Lilly Pulitzer for Target (option, option) | Top: Express (similar in Cayman blue or Fresh mint) | Bracelet: Stella and Dot, CS Gems | Skirt: LOFT | Shoes: Kate Spade

Speaking of hangover… have you guys tried Strawberitas? I tried it for the first time a couple of weekends ago before the baseball game. I'm not really a huge beer drinker, to be honest. I'm fine having one or two, but it's definitely not my drink of choice for an entire night. And not that this is REALLY beer, but it's technically a Bud Light product, which is why I mention it. But anyway, I am kind of really obsessed with them and now have a 12 pack sitting in my refrigerator. So, if you haven't tried them, it comes Carylee certified!

Fringe and tassels

Sunnies: Vince Camuto (option) | Earrings: Stella and Dot | Necklace: C/O CS Gems | Bag: Kate Spade (option) | Poncho: Grace and Lace | Tank: Target | Bracelets: C/O Chloe and IsabelStella and Dot | Leggings: Express (option) | Booties: Cole Haan (option)

Where do I even begin with this post?! Well, let's just jump right into the goodness. This tassel necklace is going to be on repeat. Just a warning for you. Coincidentally, I had been lusting over a tassel necklace that Gina has, and was a bit sad because I put myself on this self inflicted shopping ban. Then, Stacy from CS Gems contacted me about collaborating with them and styling one of their tassel necklaces. Needless to say, I jumped at the offer immediately and was ridiculously grateful!

How gorgeous is it? Vintage simplicity at its finest. If you've never checked out their goodies, I highly suggest you do - their new site just launched here. And while you're at it, follow them on Instagram here. I truly don't follow many shops on IG because they can be a bit too spammy and catalog-y.  I love that GS Gems applies their products to real life on their Instagram page, and they're genuinely nice and engaging on top of that! The fact that they have great products is really just an added bonus. I am very thrilled to be collaborating with them.

I thought the necklace would pair perfectly with this fringe poncho. The weather a couple of weekends ago was gorgeous - in the 60's! I was very comfortable in this knit number. Yes, it's a bit flowy, which is why I wanted to wear my skinniest leggings with it. I was THISCLOSE to wearing wedge sandals instead of these booties, but I couldn't bring myself to tease my feet into thinking it was spring just yet.

I originally paired this with peep toe booties and my wine colored bag with a low pony. But it was SOO windy the day I took these photos, that it was difficult to get more than one good shot of the poncho. For take two, I decided to get my hair out of my face and go with full on black booties and my turquoise bag. Excited to wear both the poncho and the tassel necklace through all seasons!

Shop CS Gems and use code "CARYLEE15" for 15% off! This code does not expire, so shop to your heart's content!

NOTE: CS Gems gifted me this necklace, but all opinions expressed in this post are my own.

The Zara scarf dupe dupe

Sunnies: Vince Camuto (option) | Scarf: H&M (option - now sold out, option) | Blazer: Express | Sweater: Target (option) | Bottoms: American Eagle | Booties: Hinge (option)

The second I decided to do the #RemixFix2015 challenge, I knew this scarf was going to make my capsule. I do love my other blanket scarf from Zara (seen here and here), but I favor this one a little more because it's not as big (it's rectangular not square) and the color palette is more universally easy to style. Since I hadn't worn it with my blazer yet, I decided to do just that today. While my favorite way to wear it is by tying it my special way, I like how it looks great just draped over my shoulders with the blazer and stripes. Easy breezy.

Remember when I first posted about this scarf here? It was back before the blanket scarf trend *really* took off - before direct copies of the original tan tartan Zara scarf were everywhere. I call this scarf my magic scarf because it makes any and every outfit better. And it's definitely always a fan favorite when I post it on Instagram. I was so happy to come across the Topshop version
Scarf: Topshop/Topman (now sold out)

It's a very good dupe of mine which was a good dupe of the Zara version. Honestly, I liked this one better than the Zara version since it's got the ivory background instead of the tan - this combination of plaid in mine is so hard to find, even with all the blanket scarves out there!

Sadly, I posted about the Topshop version on Instagram, and by the time I woke up the next morning, it was sold out!! Lucky for you, I bought this Topshop scarf while it was still available! I felt so strongly about the versatility of this scarf that I was compelled to buy one to gift it to one of my readers. How does everyone feel about that? Enter to win using the Rafflecopter below!
