I'm writing this from Myrtle Beach! If I had a quarter for every city I've blogged from! I wouldn't normally choose to blog on vacation, but I realized I wouldn't be home until after 11pm last night, and I knew if I didn't blog now, it certainly wouldn't happen any later! Not that I'm complaining because I honestly love sharing with you guys anyway! It's been a whirlwind of a weekend!!
Mindy Mae's Market has slowly become my new favorite place to shop online. Their stuff is adorable and affordable, and their Instagram account is one of my favorites because of their real life outfit inspiration and not-overly-spammy content even though they're a shop! They're one of the only shops I actually follow on Instagram for this reason. As my collection of their pieces begins to grow, I thought I should give you a heads up about their current sale (Aug 1- Aug 5) so you could shop for yourself in case there are some things you've been stalking!
Yesterday all of their tees were on sale, so I was inspired to wear my new track tee. The stock photo doesn't do it justice at all. It's got a relaxed fit and a high-low hem. It was the perfect outfit to wear to brunch and then errands yesterday.
We took these photos on the way to brunch yesterday. The husband picked the location, and I get just a little too excited to take any photos that aren't right in front of our house! And then he was getting all into it - telling me where to stand and how to pose. Oh, it's the little things that count the most, right?
But back to this tee! I ended up ordering a medium, which seems to be my typical size with everything I have bought from them so far. It has a bit of a trapeze shape to it, so I may have been ok sizing down, but I don't think I am drowning in it as is. The length makes it perfect to wear with leggings, though I thought about knotting it and wearing it with a skirt also. Maybe next time! Perhaps I went a little literal with this outfit, pairing the top with with leggings and my new Nikes, but I was feeling lazy and needed something easy. Gina said that Rachelle described anyone wearing these shoes as looking like an off duty model, so now it's all I think about when I slip them on! Haha
If the track tee isn't your thing, there are plenty of other things that I can hopefully tempt you with! It brings me joy when people buy things that I love and actually love them also! Today, the sale is all about dresses, and I'm pretty sure you all NEED this floral sleeved striped dress.
After I posted a flat lay of this dress on Instagram last week, I received a few requests for try-on photos. I took it one step further and actually styled the dress for other seasons, documenting each look with a selfie. Any kind of striped dress is a staple. And when you can layer over it AND under it, it then becomes invaluable. This one with the adorable floral sleeves makes it a little more special!
Whew! Lots of information in this post - sorry, I really didn't mean for it to be this long and the husband is mad dogging me to go get dinner, so I should go! It's Beau season, guys! Not to be confused with bow season for the hunters. That's totally a different thing. This bag is inherently spring and summer to me, and I'm sorry to taunt you with it since it is no longer available, but, I just couldn't wait to wear it with my new chambray. It's perfect!
If you're in the market for a light wash chambray, I highhhhhly recommend this one. I scored it during one of the latest 40% off sales, and it is as soft as a baby's bottom. Perhaps that's not a good analogy, but just trust me when I say it is the softest chambray that I own. I could sleep in this thing! It has such a relaxed fit, and I love that it is collarless because that sets it apart even more from the other 38733434 chambrays in my collection!

I'm starting this roundup off strong! Ha! I picked this as one of my favorite outfits I wore in December because it has everything I love - pop of color, stripes, leopard, destroyed jeans. And a vest! I swear I never knew I could love vests as much as I do! It's a great layering piece that truly does keep you warm, but still allows you to visually appreciate the rest of your outfit.
I can't believe it was 2013 when I put together this post here - but I love looking back at it and seeing how I was forced to remix the items in my suitcase! The skirt is always one of my go to pieces when I have to travel for work. It packs easily and always looks nice and crisp.

I had to throw that disclaimer up there next to this tank! Ha! Can't get grandma excited! But yes, it's a maternity tank, and Gina turned me on to it. The sides aren't ruched like a lot of maternity tops are, but it's great because they're a great long and lean tank when you just need a little bit more modesty.

Again with the stripes and leopard and burgundy! Just such a good combo - it's foolproof really. And the more I see these booties, the more I am so happy I finally caved and snagged them!
This is a residual outfit from SoCal. As with most trips, I remixed a lot, so I had already worn these pants and this top, just not together. We were going to scour after Christmas sales this day, so I opted for comfy shoes. My black slip ons would have worked better, but I had to work with what I had, which still was good enough for me!
If I look tired, it's because I was! This was after about 12 hours of travel, we had just gotten home from the airport, but I went ahead and documented my airport OOTD just because it's hard for me NOT to photo everything I leave the house wearing. The Oakley hoodie was a random after Christmas purchase. The husband had bought a roller bag on crazy sale at Oakley, and this hoodie was marked down to over half off, so I could not resist. I loved its asymmetric zipper!
I had exhausted all of my tunic options, so I rigged my sequin tank so that it was tunic length. I put the tank on, but pulled it down and let straps hang on my bra - I basically "hook" each tank strap around each bra strap, then I place the bra straps on my shoulders as usual. The tank doesn't fall because it's "hanging" on my bra. No one knows any better because I had a tee shirt on over the tank. A nice quick fix if you need a tunic for modesty and you've left your maternity tanks at home. :)

I'm sooo happy I got this sweater over Black Friday! It's the perfect layering piece, and I loved pairing the belt over it! This is the first turtleneck/cowl neck I have owned in probably a decade, but I just really love this look!

Layers, layers, and more layers. This was one of the days I had to go into work in between Christmas and New Year's. I had to wear sequins because of the holidays, and I didn't care about wearing my busted knee jeans on a Monday since it was a skeleton crew at the office anyway! Most years I'm usually wearing sweats anyway, so this was definitely an upgrade!

Speaking of sequins! Another in between holiday work outfit. This sequin skirt is my favorite - the fit is great, and the sparkles are so fun! I was pretty late, so I just threw my hair up in a low pony and decided to add the beanie for an extra laid back look. I am pretty sure I only wear this beanie once a year!
And last but not least is my New Year's Day outfit. Every New Year's, we spend lunch with his family and we have ham and bean soup, which, by the way, is the yummiest soup ever. I don't know why I only have it once a year because it is seriously delicious. It's just a casual get together, but I wanted to have fun with my sweatshirt and joggers. I mean, if you can't wear sequin joggers on New Year's day, then when can you, right?! The last time you saw these pants was for St. Patrick's Day here.

So it's really funny because I have been lusting after these booties forever. FOREVER. You see, I really don't ever wear flats. Ever. I have one pair of suede ballet flats that get regular use, but otherwise, I just feel like they are generally uncomfortable. Booties are the perfect alternative to flats in the winter. I already have the Petty bootie in the nude color and the wine color. The Sam Edelman leopard print is the best - I'm pretty particular about that. Since I wasn't able to score the Sam Edelman leopard slip ons, I felt like the leopard bootie should be my next endeavor.
I've been searching everywhere for this bootie, but could never ever find it anywhere in my size, much less at all. I did a couple of eBay searches, and was able to find this pair, new in box! I put in an offer about $40 less than the asking price, and was so giddy when the seller accepted!
It wasn't until I posted this photo on Instagram, that Amy Ann let me know that they were on Sam Edelman's website here! I always relied on google, and never actually tried looking at their direct site! Duh! I so could have had these a lot sooner, but at least I saved $40, right?! That's what I keep telling myself...
I love me a good blanket scarf, but how many is TOO many to have? I figured it was ok to get this one during my Black Friday shopping extravaganza since it's Aztec print verses a plaid. And I swear that if you add a statement scarf like this to any outfit, you will instantly feel put together - or at least I do! Such an easy outfit formula when you're feeling lazy or uninspired.
I decided to take the plunge and get this jacket after seeing it on Rachelle here. I figured it would be nice to have a jacket that isn't a moto jacket, since I seem to have accumulated a handful of that style! I'm so happy with the fit! It's probably a little lightweight for the winter, but that's nothing a few layers can't fix! It even has buttons in the back so you can adjust the waist! I loved this option since I can cinch my waist when I'm just wearing a light top, but when I'm wearing a sweater like this, I can loosen the fit.
Can we all say, "Happy Birthday" to Mr. Carylee, aka my photographer? After all, if it weren't for his time and energy, this blog would not be what it currently is. This is what I wore during the day before my hair appointment on Saturday. You can see my after haircut pic here! I ended up just switching into my black destroyed skinnies when we went out later that evening to celebrate with dinner and a movie. It was hard to follow in his footsteps after what he did for me for my birthday this year, but I still think I did well!
I bought him a driving experience at the New Orleans motorsports track. He gets to drive a Lamborghini, and I get to eat some authentic beignets. Don't you love the way I think? I have never been to New Orleans before, so I figured it would be a nice long weekend. He seemed pretty stoked about his present, so I shall call this year a success!
